I don't think Florida has super huge depression I mean I'm not going to sit here and say that it doesn't exist in Florida because we're open. There is still people here in certain places in Florida like Lake City and other smaller towns that might be more closed. But at the end of the day his video shows that being open is a good thing it helps out blue collar workers more than anything and if the numbers don't show a huge difference between lock down and staying open then is the smarter option I would definitely say England is probably one of the most depressed places on this planet with their crazy lockdown

That’s fascinating Peter. I’m from the uk and we are currently in a Californian style lockdown (only allowed to leave home for exercise and medical help or food). Interestingly Sweden has adopted a much more liberal approach to restrictions similar to Florida and the have a similar death rate to the uk with very tough restrictions. Personally I think this boils down to people taking precautions based on their own risk factors. Great content and keep up the good work!
UK population density much higher than Sweden. A better comparison would be Sweden with other Nordic countries like Norway , Denmark and Finland that have similar population density. That comparison showed Swedish approach failed big time. I admire Peter's channel, but think his comparisons of Florida and California figures need to be treated with caution. Florida has a huge population of tourists as we can see from this video. Are many of the cases contracted returning to other states where they infect older more vulnerable people but only showing on those other states statistics? Also how accurate are Florida's statistics? Many accusations in the first wave that as Fl's statistics exploded the governor had recording methods altered to read the way he'd prefer them to look.
@@seandoherty925 indeed probably better to compare the uk with France or Italy in terms of population density. I’m not anti lockdown in any way but there are incredibly damaging for young people especially. Not sure we will every be able to compare who did well and what the right approach was as the end of the pandemic as every country records statistics so differently and it gets political too. Leaving the health aspect to one side this video really shows how damaging lockdowns are to people’s well-being. Also I think the uk is at a disadvantage also due to the country being relatively small as well as dense in terms of population.
So Sweden has had a very different approach to Florida. Yes it's not been in total lockdown like UK but has very different culture to Florida. It also has a strong welfare state funding or health benefits for people who get covid. Not sure it's best comparison tbh.
@@charlielawson137 agree with everything you said apart from when u said UK is at a disadvantage. It's an island which is a huge advantage compared to say France or Germany. It could be been way stricter with its borders from day 1 but instead it took year to enforce testing and now has currently twice the death rate of Germany. Ridiculous
OMG! So cool to see people living life and being relaxed without government controlling life. Hopefully UA-cam and the big tech monopolies don’t censor or shadow ban this video in the end.
Moved my family to Florida last year, right when the pandemic hit (already bought a house before that). SOO glad I'm down here. My kids actually get to go to school, to camps, sports, they play with their friends, etc. It's been great for them. Sure, they wear masks in class and sit 6-ft apart and they have to follow a lot of rules, but hey... at least they get out of the house and are social. My family and friends fly in to enjoy the warmth and freedom. Everyone gets tested, it's a hassle... but I'll take that over what I saw in the San Fran video... holy crap!
@my home thanks! Miami is also pretty densely populated, but I understand, it's not the same (I'm not in Miami BTW :)). My kids did eLearning, so I'm familiar with how it works - and it was terrible for everyone. My wife cried every day, because she felt like a failure, kids weren't getting the education they needed and there were a number of occasions the teachers were so frustrated they were literally crying. The kids still keep in touch with family/friends on Messenger kids and online games, but they also go outside and ride their bikes, play with friends, play in the pool, go to each others houses. My son plays tennis and daughter is a competitive gymnast. We go to events, restaurants, shopping... it's just WAY more normal and I'm willing to sacrifice wearing a mask for that. We've lived through the shutdown in New England, although parts of California look worse (have friends in Cali). This is much better. As you said, I'm lucky to be in a position I'm in and I'm sad for those less fortunate who are stuck.
I love this, I live in Florida and it's been tough this year but I definitely know it's been way worse other places. Makes me feel much better about the freedom we do have. We will be through this soon enough and stronger as a people! I pray 💞♾💞. God bless

The governor is being groomed as being one of the good guys but he'll pull the rug out from under you too, just like Trump did. And don't take this as a promotion of the dems, no way I'd endorse them either. Our government as a whole is screwing this country over.

But, you know kids .. spend your money please, come to FL. but if you spread it to a weak person then I guess that isnt on you? At least wear a mask.
Bro as a guy that was born in raised in south Florida. All we ever wanted to do Since covid hit was go back to our normal lives as quickly as possible. Nothing stops us here. Come hell or high water, we just live and let live down here..
I moved to Florida from California in 2016. Unfortunately the problems in SF and LA are not just tied to Covid. Unfettered Crime, homelessness, mental illness and drug abuse, combined with the lack of will to enforce quality of life laws has made it unlivable. Covid has just brought it all into focus.
@@mrike5651 I’ve lived both places Florida has a long way to go before it turns into California. California is a one party state with a radical progressive super majority. The political makeup in Florida is nothing like it.
Yes it has. Florida with six times the Covid deaths per capita than California. It's in perfect focus for all those "free" Floridians who are now six feet under.
At least for the tourists, one possible explanation for the disparity in cases is that that a tourist that may catch covid while on vacation in Florida would likely be diagnosed upon returning to their home state and the cases wouldn't could towards Florida's totals. This seemed to be the case when I went to the Outer banks last summer which had such a small permanent population and therefore a small number of cases for permanent residents.
They were talking about saving and restoring the buildings in Miami Beach back in the 1970s. I remember when it was still a question whether they'd pull it off, but man did they.

I can not tell you how much better I felt just seeing you experiencing something so much closer to normal life. The collective anxiety here is oppressive!
Bringing back memories Peter! When I was growing up, my parents took us from NYC to Miami Beach every winter. I am stuck in LA now, and what a complete difference! I didn’t notice tents all over the beach like in Venice and surrounding areas. I have a feeling that the Governor of Fla is doing a better job than the elitist Newsom.
As a native Floridian I too want to say welcome; all we ask is that you do not turn our beautiful state into the dysfunctional/ruined state you just came from.
It is exactly a “small government” and trust in the people to make their own choices for their health, when given the information vs. “big government” where a few people in power take away any choice and therefore any power, from the people they govern. It is exactly a difference in political ideology. Liberty comes with risk. ❤️🇺🇸
In other words, it is the failure of the left versus the sanity and dignity of the right. Democrats destroy everything they touch, as we are seeing with the dementia patient in the White House. As a New Yorker, I know all about left wing mental sickness and destruction

@World Traveler I luve in a liberal state but am a Republican!
Nopw, Sweden doesn't have any counts like the UK
Ridiculous

I absolutely love all these wonderful accents. We all live in the same country but all these unique and beautiful accents especially the southern ones!
America has about 6 accents, you wanna try living in the UK each town has at least 3.
@@josephsolowyk7697 no one cares about UK brotha
Pureblooded!
I can not tell you how much better I felt just seeing you experiencing something so much closer to normal life. The collective anxiety here is oppressive!
Same here. Nice to see people out living. Instead of Hiding out. Like NY and CA are doing.
I dont watch tv or listen to podcasts I just watch this channel
Couldn't help but smile throughout the entire video. I really sure do miss normal times, hoping NY will get back on the trend.
I have to give you credit showing people the different ways to handle this pandemic. I am stuck here in Los Angeles dying.
Exactly!!
Welcome to my state, brother. The land of the free.
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
As a native Floridian I too want to say welcome; all we ask is that you do not turn our beautiful state into the dysfunctional/ruined state you just came from.
Much love from Spain :)
He'll no , liberty comes with RESPONSIBILITY not risk. You do not have the 'choice' to infect people around you should carry the virus. It's not a governmental issue , it's being a conscientious human being. Act like an adult.
@@wilsonsdrift9462 freedom has ALWAYS come with a lot of risk.
@@robifleming Not unnecessary risk. It's like going out of your way to find risk. Travel less , wear a mask, wash your hands. You're not being asked to go to war in a foreign land. Just watch more Netflix. Get some perspective.
@@wilsonsdrift9462 but as this video suggests there isn’t necessarily a link between taking lots of precautions and not getting covid. Live your life and be free. Stop watching the news.
Went to Naples ,Florida in 2021 …it was busy and people still had a life .. beautiful state and great leadership😊
Who needs a journalist when we have you! You're incredible man, thanks for sharing!
people who watch CNN with no critical thinking... they need them
I’m trapped up in paranoid Canada where the government has made it damn near impossible for anyone to travel because of the severe mandatory protocols in place such as a negative test, mandatory quarantine in a covid hotel, and then mandatory 2 week quarantine after that. I would love to be able to escape to Florida where people are chilled out and not hysterical over the virus.
Thank Pretty Boy Trudeau and his ankle-grabbing for the globalists.
Same in Denmark, the lock down has created so much unnecessary pain and suffering on all levels. Its crazy, killing many small businesses. Children can't go to school many places. I really hope it will get better soon. Thank God for Internet and UA-cam. Love a trip to Miami.
@@larsstougaard7097 Miami is awesome, I’ve been there twice. I hope things get better in Denmark soon, up here in Ontario people are still screaming at each other for not following the arrows the right way in the grocery store. It’s insane.
I work remotely in Florida for a Canadian company. So my manager and half of my colleagues are in Canada. In a meeting, my Canadian colleagues got the emergency message on their phones about the lockdown. They are so miserable. I never ask them what they are going to do over the weekend. It's always sit in the house. This weekend, I went to the mineral springs, and I'm on my way to a socially distanced outdoor birthday party.
I'm not sure what the perfect answer is, but I'm thankful to be in Florida.
lmao we still can't eat in patios, go to a gym or get a haircut in Toronto. its never ending
Florida = freedom!
