More of an apologist than an actual scholar I'd argue.
But that distinction is really irrelevant in this case as Jeff's knowledge and experience is more than accurate enough to sufficiently expose the major errors, contradictions, and inconsistencies of this regrettably lost individual.

The way pastor speaks is over people's heads bc most do not put much thought into why they believe what they do. It's sad that most aren't pushed to make sense of their beliefs. "It's just what I believe, so what" is the typical attitude. I have to say going to college helped me greatly understand my faith in God and belief system by hearing profs who were as ungodly as they come.
This just absolutely hurts. Bless him for engaging with this guy… 😢

This man couldn't leave. He has convinced himself that his world view is the correct one. Yet, when the Word is presented it pierces right through that façade. He's standing there spiritually naked and the discomfort is obvious. But he can't leave because he knows that he is being presented with the truth and his eternal soul hangs in the balance.
Watching this 4 years later and knowing how dangerously close Jordan Peterson is to being saved is so amazing. God changes even the most brilliant minds and lost people. Glory to God.

He used Jordan Peterson as an example of a secular philosopher. Jordan Peterson has gone out of his way to show that he believes undeniable truths are from the Bible. Jordan Peterson may not be an apologist, but he is using his way to show that the Bible is true.
Something very relevant he's said within the last year is something to the effect of "its not that the bible is true, it's that the bible is the very essence of truth itself, there is no truth without the bible"

Peterson is spiritually confused.
Jeff means well and is very talented. Sometimes he is too confrontational and not as effective as he could be. Jeff is a flawed human just as we all are. Even in Jeff's shortcomings he is still out there preaching the good news and that is a beautiful thing even though he doesn't always come off as calm and non combative as he should be.

This video sounds a little interrogating and combative with a professed non believer in Gods word.

I've seen many of your videos that you are very gracious with them and tell them you love them and dont want them to not know what they should to be saved.
I know we need to have an answer to defend our faith but this didnt feel like defense.....it felt a little cornering.
That being said, I dont disagree with anything you said to him, just maybe how it was delivered.
He seemed like a nice man that would have listened if he didn't feel set up by the questions.

Jesus Christ came and sacrifice himself for all our sins, was buried and rose in three days, defeating death and remitting our sins we committed against God (our lies, lusts, anger, violence, blasphemy, idolatry, etc.). Through Jesus Christ, our sins are paid for permanently, and by trusting in what Christ did on the cross, we are given eternal life.
Poor guy, says he believes John 14:6 in certain conditions and then later says he trust Jesus. He is deceived. It’s like a universal Jesus, who turns into whatever people imagine him to be.

Why did he quote Jordan Peterson as an atheist ? My understanding of him is he has great reverence for the Bible and is slowly becoming more and more into the faith. I think his academic pursuits have led him straight to God
People are so concerned with the possibility of being made to "look bad" or to be wrong; why are we so afraid of appearing wrong? There's nothing wrong with being wrong, there is something wrong when we won't acknowledge our wrongs and repent. We're all prone to being wrong, and that's okay; this is why we need Jesus! The good news is that God sent Jesus to die for our sins and to save all who put their faith in Him. It is a free gift of eternal life in Christ! Jesus will set you free--I know because the Bible tells us this, and can personally attest because He saved me. :)

Hi everyone, I'm an atheist and I love these debates. But what about people that have never heard of Jesus or people that were born in another way of life without a monotheistic religion (asian people for example)? Are they all going to hell because they don't believe in Jesus?
They will go to hell. God will judge them on the light that they did have.
All people are accountable to God whether or not they have “heard about Him.” The Bible tells us that God has clearly revealed Himself in nature (Romans 1:20) and in the hearts of people (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The problem is that the human race is sinful; we all reject this knowledge of God and rebel against Him (Romans 1:21-23).
It is not that some people have not heard about God. Rather, the problem is that they have rejected what they have heard and what is readily seen in nature.
Deuteronomy 4:29 proclaims, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Everyone who truly seeks after God will find Him. If a person truly desires to know God, God will make Himself known.
The problem is “there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God”
(Romans 3:11).
People reject the knowledge of God that is present in nature and in their own hearts, and instead decide to worship a “god” of their own creation. It is foolish to debate the fairness of God sending someone to hell who never had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ. People are responsible to God for what God has already revealed to them. The Bible says that people reject this knowledge, and therefore God is just in condemning them to hell.

Regardless of all this, even humans have enough moral scruples to know that "the punishment should still fit the crime."
So for an infinitesimal (in comparison) period of sinful behavior on earth. God is supposedly going to systematically torture someone without let-up for an eternity, without even enough mercy to simply destroy the individual out of existence?
That's just an indescribable sadism and cruelty. And makes all the many scriptures of an ostensibly "Just, loving, and merciful God" a complete farce. ...
These people are Calvinists, so I'm not sure that's a concern for them. They already consider salvation as something that is given unsolicited, so even if these people had heard of Jesus it still wouldn't be up to them whether they "accepted" him or not.
I've heard Jeff describe himself as a "compatibilist," which suggests to me that, nder their system, you don't go to Hell for choosing not to convert. You go to Hell for being evil. Of course, you're born evil and can't make yourself not evil, but that doesn't change the fact that you *are* evil. You go to Hell for evil choices, and, while you can't change what it's in your nature to choose, these are still *your* evil choices.
Jeff, it’s obvious you know your ish... I’m not saying to water down the word or the gospel. But what I am saying, is I think that it would be of great value to you and your ministry to be able to have different styles/approaches for different types of people, personalities and situations. My criticism is constructive and is being said in hopes to help.

My question to you is this, how should I start researching other religions so I can have an educated discussion when I do evangelism? I firmly believe in “knowing your enemy” so you can love them the way Gd does.
The man said to Jeff: "You talk to much". And that is true. Jeff should learn to listen and to understand first, because that is what the Bible teaches. You can be a professor of Theologie, but you can still have no love for your neighbor. But Bible teaches to love, not just to debate.
