This is actual footage outside of the Mormon Temple in Mesa, Arizona, during the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' annual Christmas Lights Celebration. Jeff Durbin (Pastor of Apologia Church and host of Apologia Radio) engaged in a conversation with an older Mormon couple.

If you look for it you can find my comment I left on here. That is if you can take that much time out from doing what the Holy Bible told you to not do.
It was a pushy, disrespectful, spirituality abusive, narcissistic, wannabe preacher just like you who gave me the incentive to convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. And my being a convert makes you a very lucky man that I wasn't the one whose wife you totally disrespected when you ignored her request to just leave them alone so she could spend the evening with her sweetheart. God is still having to make repairs on me because of the one who lead me to leave all of you narcissistic types and join a church where people know the meaning of Christian decency. You pick on the ones who show signs of being easy going such as member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You need to keep in mind that there are converts out here who were a whole somebody else before we started working on who God is rebuilding us to be. Though I do good, evil is always with me. In other words, I am Able but Cain is never too far away. Be patient. God's not through with me yet.

This was a good and interesting exchange. I do have a question though. How do you explain the ending of the conversation in light of 2 John? Should we be wishing Mormons "God Bless" or "God Speed"? Or am I missing something in the interpretation of that verse?

Mormonism is polytheism. They believe there are many gods. They also believe men can become one - polytheism.
Read The King Follet Discourses stated by Joseph Smith. He refutes Isaiah 43:10 and states God was once a man and became a God by obedience to His God, etc, etc.
I know Mormonism far better than you ever will. I lived it for decades, and have a fairly good understanding of their doctrines and teachings and history.
You will have to be a Mormon for a very long time to really get a proper grasp of their mindset and indoctrination processes.
However if you're interested in joining I religion, I would suggest stay away from Mormonism.
I used to be a Mormon and he just proved that I did the right thing about leaving that church.
Many of you leave the church but they are coming back ....because that is the only true church.Remember the Standard of truth by Joseph Smith.

Thanks for doing this. My older sister was a Mormon for many years. When I got saved in 92, I made it my mission (no pun intended) to prove to her that they were a cult. The Lord led me to do so by using their own books and comparing them to the bible. Thank God she became a Christian! All glory to God!!

Ive been a mormon since birth living in australia so im the minority here, not like utah but i have the strongest conviction that the lds church will get u closer to god then any other church, let me explain how i came to this conclusion.
1. Ok maybe u die at a very young age or even a baby, some of the christian believes that baby have sin from adam and eve, and that a baby is going straight to hell because he or she hasnt been baptised and so on. Imagine that, a baby that has no idea of what is happening goes to live with satan in hell i cant imagine god being very merciful and wouldnt worship that god. What i believe is a baby is perfect no sin, we dont have any sin until we are old enough to be able to know what we are doing is right or wrong the age is 8 years old in my church to be baptised.
2. I will say to the plan of salvation yes we believe that there are 3 kindoms of glory when we die we will go to one of these places, and I will explain why this makes more sence then just a heaven and a hell. If u were not interested in god or maybe didnt grow up or hear about it in you life on this planet, u would not be saved u would be in hell. Also if u have commited some sins and right on the border of being in heaven but not quite ready to be in the presents of god and so if ur not accepting god but change ur mind later well it would be to late by some christian beliefs u would be in hell, and theres nothing in between also with no way out.
Ok so we believe that if u have not been baptised u wouldnt go straight to hell out of god presents u would be able to continue to grow and learn on the lowest kingdom which will give u opertunity to accept jesus, god and become like him and live with him. Now that sound good to me, there still is a place where satan lives in outer darkness where only the worst of the worst go. Also we believe u will feel comfitable in the place u will go, and that the lowest kingdom is far better then living on this earth so it will be glorious to live there. We also have a temple to do work for the dead who have died and have not been baptised and recieved the holy ghost the oppertunity to accept god and be baptised, that is a much more merciful god to me. Even when dead u still have the opertunity to accept if u want to be baptised or not. Much better then the options of the other christian beliefs, i think. I am a lds church member since birth, any questions just ask.
3. We always believe that in the book of mormon it doesnt talk of many gods its just the trinity one god, simple. How did god became god, it say alot in the bible about how we are children of god and he wants us to live with him again and be like him. So what does that say, im just speculating but if he wants us to be like him how do we do that, and to what degree, is it a little like him or actually like him with all his glory and perfect like him to be like god. We are children of god our spirit comes from god and we live in this mortal existence for a very short time maybe a hundred years then we die and like jesus we will be resurected eventually when god says its time and our body will be reunited with our spirit, so we will have a body that is perfect and will be imortal and can live forever and never die, which is what as a mormon i believe, and i hope is what most christians believe too. But what the difference is that they think we will just be praising god for trillions and billions of years with no growth, which sounds boring, i believe that as we live with jesus we continue growing and learning how god is, the nature of god and how he does what he does, that sound much more interesting and that like a child learns from his father most things i think we will learn alot about where god came from and so on. All our questions will be answered. Death isnt the end its just part of our experience and journey, but that my opinion.

You cant be a mormon claiming to believe the Bible, then also believe in the book of mormon that directly contradicts the Bible. Its similar to catholocism but to a much greater extent. All you need is the Bible, no other supplemental heresy to understand the God of this universe. Mormons are not Christians, they believe a different Jesus who is false. Thank the one Everlasting God that these two mormons were saved from the deception they experienced and now follow the true Christ of the Bible, who has always existed and created all things. If you do not believe the description of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit given in the Nicene Creed, you do not follow the true Christian beliefs of the Bible and you have heresy on your hands.

Please explain how you reconcile the "you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" when it seems god acknowledges a few verses later that is indeed what happenend... And remember.. it is the Mormons who believe the Bible is correct as far as it is translated correctly, and it is "Christians" like the Calvinist above that believe the bible is infallible..... Please answer. I almost never get an answer to this question from "Christians" because it apparently requires too much explaining or contorting of what is really being said in Genesis. @@greg4795 question for you, who determines if the Bible is "translated correctly"? To the Genesis question, are you implying that God was saying to Adam and Eve whom He created that they were gods? He said "like" in that they know good from evil.

+Ryan Mock I memorized these verses by application of this teaching. Also I had my Bible with many bookmarks of the relevant verses to my application until I had it down. Also so I could show it for a "show me" which happens often and I love when that happens.
We as a Mormons we don't think that way, oh one day I'll be a god, Jeff is questioning to Mormons why we think one day all Mormons will be gods. We don't talk about that ever, we try every day to obey the commandments and be better followers of Christ. And 4 years ago I believed everything that guy stated. I had a profound testimony of the fullness of the gospel. Then in the twinkling of an eye it was all gone. The more I researched the scriptures I found that everything The Mormon Church taught was completely wrong. 4 years ago I asked God for forgiveness then after that I have taken a hard stand of developing a stronger relationship with God.

I used to be a member of the LDS church & now I am a Christian saved by GRACE not saved "after all I can do!!" Mormons will always be a people I pray for!! I recall back to a time when I was told I would become a Goddess, & make it to the celestial kingdom if I lived a perfect life, but I was so undeserving, I just could not believe that. Now being a Christian, I know that the ultimate thing that we should look forward to after this life is to be with God & in His presence!!!!! I can't wait! We are flawed beings in need of a perfect & sinless God who alone can save, redeem, forgive and love us!!! Pray for the LDS fam!!!!!!

Austin Twiwble is a Mormon. That is where he is coming from. He is trying to say that he will become like God aka a God. Also I know that there are many different ways to analyze Mormonism. My channel is full of information on Mormonism. Jeff was asking the man in the video his opinion then Jeff asked him to support it with the Bible. The Mormon could not provide a single scripture from the Bible to support his beliefs. The point is that God cannot contradict himself so Mormons cannot contradict the scripture that we already have.

The Bible says that we become representatives of God not that we become Gods. The same way that a lawyer represents a person in court but doesn't become that person himself. A representative does the work of their master but is not literally their master. There will always only be 1 God.

People abilities may vary but not there true love. If we love a person/ God for a reason then we love the reason but not the person. No reason is the reason to love the person because true love never fails. So do not compare or measure the true love as first or the last but love all truly. If you love people truly then you can understand people. If you don't love then you don't understand people at all.

Five years ago when I became saved alone in my bedroom, I prayed for God to lead me to the truth. He led me away from churches and groups that conflict with HIS WORD. I have prayed for divine confirmation and have been redirected to the Bible every time. I belong to a community church now, study the Word in my spare time, and believe that it's God's mercy that has led me away from confusion and misunderstanding.
I was born in Utah and I know many Mormons. They are great people for the most part but I pray they find Jesus.
Sadly, billions of mostly nice people are going to the lake of fire and never getting out of it.

This reminds me of what it says in scripture, 1 John 4:1, about the spirit of the antichrist, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirit to see if they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. Some verses say the similar thing, for example, in 1 John 4:3-4, that any spirit that confesses that Christ has come in the flesh, is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God.

He'd be wasting his time. When I was a LDS missionary, in Germany, I met an elderly Witness woman who survived the Nazi concentration camp at Ravensbrück. This old woman was imprisoned for her beliefs, and was dehumanized, tortured and starved in one of the worst hellholes of the Holocaust. She lived to be about 85-90 when my companion and I met her, but she was quite active. My companion and I returned four more times to talk with her, and to listen. She always respected our beliefs, never once using them, or the Bible, against us. When she shared her beliefs with us, she always did so with a sincerity and kindness I sadly admit not having when I was proselytizing to others. She taught us more about the Bible in those five visits than I had ever learned in the LDS Church. In fact, this was instrumental in my decision to leave the Church shortly after I returned home (I'm not a part of _any_ religion).
The thing that struck me was how this little old lady, barely five feet tall, possessed a personal conviction I could never begin to imagine having myself. She wasn't special. She wasn't a miracle worker. She was just a woman who, when she was a young, stood up for what she believed in, even at the risk of a brutally violent death. While the churches in Germany, including the Calvinists and LDS, wholeheartedly supported Hitler's killing machine, almost to a person, hers was the only one persecuted solely on the basis of religious belief. They went to the camps by the thousands, many were murdered, all because they based their peaceful defiance on Bible-based knowledge.
You think a JW video by Jeff would be edifying? I sorely doubt an obscure UA-cam preacher, who can only use the Bible as a weapon to hurt people, could ever make a dent in the Witness's beliefs. If Hitler couldn't change them, if his powerful SS couldn't break them, and his only option was to simply get rid of them, how in the world could some hipster pastor have a snowball's chance in hell of doing so? Again: I am not part of _any_ religion, nor do I necessarily wish to be, but I know what true faith in God looks like, and it was in her eyes, not Jeff's. My husband met a mormon at work. He passed 1 day later. Right before he was going to witness to him. Some elders reached out. My husband met with them. Now he's been in the process of witness to him. I love the fact that you stand by your faith. The final straw for me with that religion was when I learned about the book of Abraham! That was it! It is either 100% true or not. If there is a lie in 1% of the doctrine than how can the church be true?
I suppose the Church would be perfect only if it were run by perfect beings. God is perfect, and His doctrine is pure. But He works through us His imperfect children and imperfect people make mistakes.

If people say there is a lie in it. While others say it came from God who is the one to believe? True doctrine will remain true whether you believe it or not.
The issue with the Book of Abraham is Joseph Smith while transcribing that scroll claimed in his own words "That God gave him divine word regarding the translation". So, now we know one of two things. Either he was lying about talking to God about the scroll or God gave him incorrect information. Which one you going for? And for what I believe, I trust what the professionals in Egypt and what they say that scroll is about.
what makes you think he is lying? God did speak with him about the scrolls. it's that simple. you can choose to believe or not. that's your call.
