I bought a continental gt, same color, last year. It's my first real bike and it's perfect for the country roads here in Italy. I did some modifications to it, I changed the rear light with a round one and changed the arrows with some smaller black ones. I also added bar-end mirrors (because of safety, and not only the looks, standard mirrors are really bad) and added a small windscreenin the front, like the one you have on display on the interceptor, but mine is fully blacked out. I also removed the rear handle (it was ugly on the GT, while it looks ok on the interceptor) and added the pillion seat cowl. It looks stunning and everywhere I go people ask me about the bike.

You missed the Hunter 650, lightest 650 in the line-up, 17" alloys with affordable W-Rated options like Rosso III or Road 5 available in the aftermarket. RE will definitely make one in times of desperation. Investor-Board Member bean-counter enforced desperation! Can't wait for that desperation to come woon enough!!!
Hunter 650 is not available at the moment, hence. Of course, investors invest and demand returns. Nothing new, nothing unsusual. Listed companies operate this way.
Have been using the Scram411 for 2 years now. Excellent suspension for bad interior roads in Villages here in Goa and for solo rider. Just waiting for the launch Scram650
The GT and Int are just perfect. Very similar to the UCE classic. The design is just perfect and timeless. I still miss my Classic 500 Stealth Black. The only changes I'd do are put USD forks and give tubeless spoke rims as an option (cos of the Him 450 they have the license to use the patent). The alloys just don't gel with the classic lines imo. Also maybe wider rear tyres and 17 inch wheels to make it a bit more sporty.
Nowadays lots of used Interceptors are available - 2-3 yrs old, less than 10k kms around 2.8L. Planning to buy one, get the alloys, upgrade suspension, remove the stock exhausts and install lighter ones.
There are many areas which they can improve like instead of mono shock suspension they can give usd forks, improve breaks, seats , can give led indicators and tell lights as well.
I love the re 650s. But to add one feature, that would be the liquid cooling. And of course an accurate fuel gauge. Just like they did with the 452 engine, they should rejig the 650s with liquid cooling. Of course a heavy motorcycle having a stiff suspension wouldn’t be comfortable for long rides with pillion
Liquid cooling will need larger radiator grills and would change the appeal of a retro taking more space here and there, make noises, need complex maintenance and may thus disrupt the simplicity and convenience of a simple easy to use engine with pure joy of riding.
I’d beg to differ on your opinion of Int650. I own and use the BS4 2019 Int650 and have 45k on the odometer. Improvements, whether small or big, must be made as a manufacturer especially if you’re still selling it in the market. With little to no upgrades from RE on the Int650, it just reflects RE’s mindset as a company where they’re just behind launching motorcycles every quarter to remain the front runner. Int650 probably falls behind in every aspect that we take into consideration today. No tubeless tyres, no refinement to the engine, poor quality switches (now improved), absolutely poor brakes compared to their competitors, poor shocks, wobble issues, 18in wheels and the list goes on. 4 yrs down, I feel the quality of bikes available in the market today is much superior than what RE is delivering on their new bikes (Himalayan450 being exception). I love my int650 and maintain it more than my own health sometimes however, it is high time they come with major upgrades to the bike other than just color options.
I’m trying to decide whether I should buy a used interceptor or a new speed/scrambler 400. I think the interceptor is the better bike but 90% of my riding is commuting to office daily so I’m not sure what would be the better choice
90% city with occasional highway runs, i would definitely recommend the Speed 400 or Scrambler 400x. Take a test ride to figure out which one works for you. The Speed will be more engaging to navigate through the city streets, while the Scrambler would offer better ergonomics and ride quality on the occasional highway runs. Interceptor is a desirable motorcycle purely for that smooth 650 twin engine, but compared to the other two, it will feel like a task commuting within the confines of a city everyday.
Hello Sir, I am planning to buy a new twin cylinder Royal Enfield motorcycle. Out of the 4 available right now, I am in love with continental GT 650. Is there any update coming to this motorcycle anytime soon? Maybe a new engine / better equipment / more features. Should I put off my purchase for some time? since this bike has been almost unchanged for over 5 years now (except a few color variants / alloy wheels, whatever you covered in this video). Thanks in advance.
@@bigbearbangalore i watched some videos in your channel and have got a definite conclusion. Thank you for the reply as well. Continental GT is a sweet sweet bike. But my next choice would be shotgun 650. I need to decide if i should pay the premium for shotgun. Personally, i like both these formats.
I commute hardly 20 to 30 kms per day and weekends long ride which would not exceed 150kms….which one to go for INT or GT or Shotgun….? FYI: have already booked shotgun😕
I chose SM 650 between 4 because I want some mordan features like USD and good Pelion seat.. Rear suspension is hard but it's ok to leave with only con. SG is good but Pelion comfort going to compromise..
feeling little old (26) but love versatile motorcycling so interceptor 650 with practical advantage of alloy wheel which i was waiting for my single motorcycle garage what a video bhosky and his friend loved it keep making us feel we still live in a better world 🥰😇 respect +++++++++ Voval
@@bigbearbangalore sir one more question I have done only 200kms on my interceptor should I upgrade to aftermarket exhaust or wait for another couple of 100kms.
Even i love the shotgun but fail to connect to it. I need the same sitting position and the bigger classic like look and appeal as the shotgun but with more chrome treatment like switch gear, headlight ring, exhaust pipes, odometers and lastly the tank badges. May be that will be added in the classic 650 soon and may that get good suspension unlike super meteor. I love the Mark 2 interceptor for its generous use of chrome and retro twin pods, tank badge, exhaust etc along with nimble handling, good acceleration, light weightedness yet would love if it gets super meteor like brushed aluminium finish and USD Forks but its footrests are always hindering me and the bike has a slimmer profile and less road presence than other Enfields. So may be the perfect bike doesn't just exist for me.
I just enjoy how you review the bikes makes me feel excited I prefer your reviews over anyone else thanks for making this content so good and so natural just like how we friends review each other's bikes.❤❤❤❤
Hi bosky. I have a GT 650. Planning to get a BMC filter and a lighter (than stock) slip on exhausts (no plan to ride without db killers 😀)…maybe RRPs. If not the slip ons atleast the filter. I am ultimately going for better fuel efficiency. Will it cause issues with the engine as the back pressure and air mass at inlet will change. Please advise.
LOL! I loved the example of Ashok Kumar, it was spot on without being offensive. And thanks for bringing our school time hero Charles Bronson. Very apt examples! 👍😃
I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the Himalayan 650, with high hopes that its suspension will outshine the competition. Frankly, the decision to purchase a two-wheeler often feels overshadowed by the challenge of finding a reliable service provider. It's effortless to acquire these machines, yet the true challenge lies in finding a 'superman' mechanic who can provide the precision care they deserve during service intervals.
@bigbearbangalore Sir. If there’s going to be a Bullet 650, Classic 650, KTM 650 (still under testing on Indian roads), there should definitely be a Himalayan 650. The odd one out will be the Hunter. That will be the only bike that won’t have a 650 version.
All would be even bigger success with a bit more top end. Needs enough to overtake safely single lane highways. Being India's bikes, the expectations of good suspension on bad roads should be met.
Hi, I have a 2015 Gt535, shall I upgrade to the Gt650 or settle with Interceptor 650 pls suggest. I am 38 now. Have a family & kid. So my brain suggests for Interceptor 650 whereas the heart still falls for the Gt. Pls suggest
I thought you wanted my preference and my choice. I didn't know you were asking me for your choice. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I shall withdraw my previous comment and delete it.
The Super Meteor and Shotgun is a purpose built motorcycle, also shotgun is a style statement, but Inty is all round motorcycle which u can take anywhere.. I m a inty owner.. and took it almost everywhere.. and blv me this motorcycle can handel anything thrown at it.. and GT is as they say grand tourer which can give tough competition to other brands and run of their money... The only thing inty n gt need is a USD... n lil bit fatter tyres..
Good work guys. Talking about 650cc market in India I feel its bit limited as compared to Interntional market which can be seen in design (suspension setup) of this bike. more suitable for international roads I feel. But all are beautiful machines..
I have my GT since 2021.When I don’t ride it, I go watch it.Still after 3 years!!I m riding almost 40 years and this is the first bike I will not sell. RE will just leave it like it is, I guess. Because it is an Interceptor/ GT, like the original. Just perfect. RE comes out with a lot of other machines, of which we can choose. RE is the only company that understands bikes and bikers. Because even the top man is a serious biker and a genius 😉 Only problem with RE: when you want to buy another RE, one always knows something else is comming 😂 The shutgun is a bullseye I think, a bullet of these times…
Greetings Bosky sir 🙏🏻 My understanding is that adventure/touring bikes like KTM 390 and Himalayan 450 are the best for all-day riding/exploring because of posture and suspension. Keeping budget aside, do any of the 650’s come close in terms of touring comfort?
If I could understand everything they were saying, I have a feeling this would be one of my favorite UA-cam channels. As it is, I catch about 80%, and it's usually the jokes I can't make out. I listen anyways, but feel like I'm missing the best parts

Interceptor 650 was my original choice, but I went ahead with the Honda CB350 Highness. No regrets so far, but I do wish to own a multi-cylinder motorcycle someday. Taking affordability and practicality into consideration, I'd most likely go for a RE twin cylinder bike. With regards to Shotgun, I think they should have launched a scrambler or adventure bike, because why should Shotgun exist when Super Meteor already exists?
Interceptor can be messed up easily if RE plans to over do it. It can eat some of the triumphs in the retro styling cosidering the price point. Till now RE did good job to it by improving functionally(alloy wheels) rather aestheticially. RE has really good designers. Still requesting RE to hold their thoughts on Interceptor until I am getting one within 2years😅
Sir if youre from bangalore do you know any place where i can find royal enfield classic reborn rear suspension. Tried finding it everywhere online but nothing
I've owned my Interceptor for nearly 5 years… in the UK… so it's a Euro4 spec bike, and all the better for it. I'm glad I've got the 'original' (yes, I know there were the Redditch/Bradford on Avon bikes in the sixties, but I'm talking Chennai bikes), ’cos it isn't as restricted in what can be played with. The ECU doesn't chuck its toys out of the pram if I fit a booster plug, free flowing headers and silencers, and better intake. Those first bikes also had a more authentic ’60's/’70's era style, with the ribbed headlamp glass, and deep glossy paint finishes (including a traditional gloss black which I have) rather than the tacky and cheap looking 'matt' finishes and those black wheels (which only looked good on some colours but not all)… don't start me on those pig ugly cast wheels they're fitting to some new bikes. I think it's true to say that between the teams at Bruntingthorpe and Chennai, they got it pretty damn near right first time with the twins… and we've got Sid Lal to thank for shoving RE back into the world motorcycle market as a serious contender.
And also thank the huge population of Indians who bought the overpriced outdated junk from Royal Enfield over decades which helped Sid Lal to accumulate the money (just like a lottery collecting 50 bucks from 1000s and 1000s of people) to fund the much overdue attempts at upgrades and international launches
@@justathinker8669 Whilst I agree we owe some gratitude to those buyers in the Indian market who bought the outdated designs for so many years, keeping the brand alive, Sid Lal only benefited from those loyal buyers in as much as there was a company for his father's company (Eicher Motors) to buy. RE were declining (though still shifting numbers of bikes other marques outside of India's tariff borders would only dream of, but only to a low value… per capita… market). Those sales over the decades weren't piling up money for Lal, but merely keeping the old company in business prior to Eicher ploughing money into RE. Originally Eicher planned to let the company survive as a domestic business, though they knew upgrades were required to meet India's stricter emissions legislation. Lal senior put his son in charge of the RE part of Eicher, and it was Sid who wanted to make RE a world relevant marque again. He persuaded his father to invest more in RE (by selling other companies), so they could first make the Bullet range able to be sold in the west, then invest by building the R&D centre at Bruntingthorpe, poaching 'talent' from around the motorcycle industry, buying Harris Performance to develop chassis etc., and spending the cash to develop prototypes for the twins and others. His father agreed to do it if the company was making a profit within a specified time. Bike journalists I've spoken to tell me how they all went to the twins' launch in California expecting an entertaining few days riding in the sunshine at RE's expense, reviewing some quaint but still dated revamped bikes with a niche market appeal. They all expected to come back and report on the bikes' historical charm, not on modern retro styled machines that would be capable of selling on merit by the container load, outselling the Jap and European bikes in the same sector. Not one of those seasoned reporters and road testers expected them to be as good, or as much fun, as they were, and their reports on the bikes reflected that surprise. RE really had got the twins right first time. I know I'd have never contemplated buying one of the old bikes, or one closely related to one, having had a friend with a 500, but a curious test ride on a local dealer's Interceptor demonstrator in 2019 turned into an immediate decision to buy one. It still rates as one of the best decisions I've ever made in over half a century of riding bikes.

In one model Reach of hands from seat to raised handle bars was extremely weird ( Cafe racer style was OK). I needed to stretch hands a lot (Me 5.7")& it felt like it's fall can't be stopped... 3. Seat should be immediately changed. Else they had used good components like shocks etc

Not to forget Morgan freeman the legend. Great video as usual!!! Love your enthusiasm. ❤ Homosapien part is so funny!!!😂😂😂
Yes! Thank you!
Have been using the Scram411 for 2 years now. Excellent suspension for bad interior roads in Villages here in Goa and for solo rider. Just waiting for the launch Scram650
👍
The GT and Int are just perfect. Very similar to the UCE classic. The design is just perfect and timeless. I still miss my Classic 500 Stealth Black.
The only changes I'd do are put USD forks and give tubeless spoke rims as an option (cos of the Him 450 they have the license to use the patent). The alloys just don't gel with the classic lines imo.
Also maybe wider rear tyres and 17 inch wheels to make it a bit more sporty.
👍
Nowadays lots of used Interceptors are available - 2-3 yrs old, less than 10k kms around 2.8L. Planning to buy one, get the alloys, upgrade suspension, remove the stock exhausts and install lighter ones.
👍
There are many areas which they can improve like instead of mono shock suspension they can give usd forks, improve breaks, seats , can give led indicators and tell lights as well.
👍
Interceptor always❤ even for same money as Shotgun. GT and INT will age like wine.
👍
Just one upgrade that interceptor needs is tubeless spoke wheels.
That's it.
👍
Your take on RE removing tachometer on newer models including 650s ..?
Doesn't matter. Tach is more aesthetic than useful. After a few 100 kms, shifting rpm can be determined with the sound and feel.
@@bigbearbangalore many thanks

Owning an interceptor since 2019 , loving the bike but tempted to go for Super Meteor - is it really worth to go from interceptor to Super Meteor?
Test ride and choose.
I believe a discussion specifically about Motorcycle boots is necessary.
👍
I love the re 650s. But to add one feature, that would be the liquid cooling. And of course an accurate fuel gauge. Just like they did with the 452 engine, they should rejig the 650s with liquid cooling. Of course a heavy motorcycle having a stiff suspension wouldn’t be comfortable for long rides with pillion
👍
Liquid cooling will need larger radiator grills and would change the appeal of a retro taking more space here and there, make noises, need complex maintenance and may thus disrupt the simplicity and convenience of a simple easy to use engine with pure joy of riding.
@@manasranjansahoo2905 Triumph speed twins come with liquid cooling. They are working very well.
Never rode any Royal Enfield 650 but I like interceptor. I believe it’s made perfectly for city riding and highway riding.

Great review guys! Love from the U.S. 🇺🇸
Thanks so much!
14:11 yep. shumi was right on, lol.

Most important improvement can be done on interceptor is .. Making it tubeless spoke wheel, like the himalayan 450.
👍
I’ve an interceptor and have been owning it for 3 years. I’m 60 and love zipping on it…Have done many long and short rides….
One problem with the shotgun is the weight. 30 kg more than interceptor. Not the best choice for me
Thanks for sharing! Keep riding.
The way the Interceptor was summed up, I felt it was personal for me. I think I made the right choice 😅❤
🙌
I'm waiting on Classic 650 ❤
👍
For int650
I would like it too have increased width which will make seat more comfortable and better shockers.
👍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers!
Tough choice. Choose well.
How about tubless spoked wheels as an update on the Interceptor?
yes!
The only improvement i see for interceptor and conti would be slight weight reduction..especially on the silencer..and ofcourse the suspension..
👍👍
Yeah I am feeling proud because I am counting next 3 months of booking period of my new interceptor 650 Black ray alloy wheels 🖤🖤
🙌
I am in the love with the Interceptor from the day i baught it❤ best of the 650s
🙌
Shotgun 650 for sure and that would be purely an emotional purchase for the feel of that motorcycle. For practicality, I have a Honda.
👌
D car equivalent of d interceptor 650 has to be d polo!!!
Beautiful and a timeless design! 👍

There is always something better coming. So one can keep waiting for the next best thing or buy what's available and enjoy the ride.

Rear suspension is hard but it's ok to leave with only con.
SG is good but Pelion comfort going to compromise..

Hello sir recently bought interceptor planning to put on the aew 101 slip on exhaust, do i need to change the air filter also if i change exhaust?
Not necessary but good to install a BMC.
@@bigbearbangalore thank you sir
@@bigbearbangalore sir one more question I have done only 200kms on my interceptor should I upgrade to aftermarket exhaust or wait for another couple of 100kms.
Such amazing clarity and detail and all major points covered….you guys are amazing and funny…..🥳

As someone who loves a modern classic theirs only one choice for me, the Interceptor.
👍
🫡👍
Is there any heating issue on the interceptor in the city traffic that is pretty concerning?
There is no heating issue. It gets quite hot, being an aircooled 650cc Twin.
@@bigbearbangalore how hot exactly are we talking about? 😅
Interceptor any day . Its a perfect mix of a bike.

Which 650 can be used with family or 650 is too much for family purpose?
Family or not am unable to answer since I don't ride doubles or with family. Pardon.
the only one I would buy in this lot - Super Meteor 650. UNAPOLOGETICALLY!

Fuel efficiency unlikely to change. And the filter is plug and play.
What are your thoughts on AEW exhaust ? Does it make sense to use it ?
Haven't used them. Those who have are happy.
@@bigbearbangalore do you know if it is actually lighter than the stock exhaust ?

I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the Himalayan 650, with high hopes that its suspension will outshine the competition. Frankly, the decision to purchase a two-wheeler often feels overshadowed by the challenge of finding a reliable service provider. It's effortless to acquire these machines, yet the true challenge lies in finding a 'superman' mechanic who can provide the precision care they deserve during service intervals.
Unlikely that there'll be a H650.
👍
@BigBearCustoms can you do the same with the 350s?
Noted. Will check.
Hi,
I have a 2015 Gt535, shall I upgrade to the Gt650 or settle with Interceptor 650 pls suggest.
I am 38 now. Have a family & kid. So my brain suggests for Interceptor 650 whereas the heart still falls for the Gt.

It depends on which wins. Your head or heart.

SG650
@@bigbearbangalorehahhaa😂 but Im not impressed with sg

Well said.
Because even the top man is a serious biker and a genius 😉
Only problem with RE: when you want to buy another RE, one always knows something else is comming 😂
The shutgun is a bullseye I think, a bullet of these times…

Greetings Bosky sir 🙏🏻
My understanding is that adventure/touring bikes like KTM 390 and Himalayan 450 are the best for all-day riding/exploring because of posture and suspension.
Keeping budget aside, do any of the 650’s come close in terms of touring comfort?
Hello. And that's exactly why I ride adventure styles motorcycles. 😊👍
If I could understand everything they were saying, I have a feeling this would be one of my favorite UA-cam channels. As it is, I catch about 80%, and it's usually the jokes I can't make out. I listen anyways, but feel like I'm missing the best parts

Allright! 😊 You'll get our accent soon! 👍
They are quite different.
Interceptor can be messed up easily if RE plans to over do it. It can eat some of the triumphs in the retro styling cosidering the price point. Till now RE did good job to it by improving functionally(alloy wheels) rather aestheticially. RE has really good designers. Still requesting RE to hold their thoughts on Interceptor until I am getting one within 2years😅
🙌

@@bigbearbangalore thank you and looking forward to your awesome review :)
Just curious when can we expect classic 650?
No idea actually.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Much appreciated. Cheers!
It still rates as one of the best decisions I've ever made in over half a century of riding bikes.
wonderful review , exhaust sound of all four or just a mention of it would have made this a complete review

Respected sir, i can't believe that you are not aware of it's CONS.
1. Extremely bad weight management,, i have handled Gsx s750, Kawasaki 10R, Triumph Thunderbird ,but RE interceptor felt like an unmanageable Big cylinder specially when you try to use physical power for menouverability...
Ok
