I like how you improve as a youtuber, implementing humor and talking about interesting topics related to metal. Keep up the good stuff. Anyway, i don't think heavy metal could "die", in fact it's far from dead... as long as there is metalheads, we gonna keep our way of living, metal \m/
Fascinating insights as usual BMW. 'Hair Metal' boy bands in the 80s (I'm 53) were single handedly responsible for turning me off metal completely. Then, only a couple of years ago, thanks largely to UA-cam, I discovered MDM, power metal, folk metal, symphonic metal etc and now I'm a metalhead and proud of it ! Metal will never die as long as the artists are serious about what they do and don't let commercialism and gimmickry become more important than the art that they are creating. Kudos to you.
That's like asking "what could kill jazz?". Nothing can. It's a since long established genre, not in need of renewal or evolvment. People will keep experimenting and try out new things, but not much will stick. It's not stagnation, it's a solid groundwork that will remain intact. The PC theory is just alarmism. PC culture will soon turn on itself, that's inevitable, and after it's hit rock bottom in ridicoulusness, the world will go back to normal.
Love that you mentioned the most important thing in metal: darkness. People outside the metal think it's just heaviness. But darkness is the number 1 what attracts me to metal. Darkness and only then power. That's why I am picky even among metal music. You can blast epic masterpiece of Epica or Nightwish yet it won't sound as beautiful as Swallow the Sun or Trees of Eternity.

Politicians and overly religious parents tried to kill metal and failed but other genres of music have not made any such attempt.
Oh man! I can recall having the fear of "what if metal dies one day?" many years ago! I was a huge metal fan from 1987-2006. I still like it, just not quite as much as I did during that time span.Well, I should say, I just don't listen to it like I did. I don't know what happened, because I swore that I would always be a metal head. I just got old, I guess, sigh....But, I am happy to see that it has lived on and is just as strong as ever. Metal fans will come and go, but metal will never die.
Metal goes through cycles here in the states ,Brian.. commercialism hasn't killed it...Metal never was played on in store radio stations at all ! It's been either a collection of hits from the past decades,or boring & annoying pop sonfs..shoppers usually tune out on the store radio stations anyway!
I was just down at the south pole with the penguins and we were jamming Abbath. Those little guys are awesome! BTW I love how you have the Evil Dead posters amongst the metal posters! NICE!
There were many groups of heavy metal fans meeting spontaneously and being friends. Many. I don’t see that anymore since a long long time. But I am very happy to see there still are young metal heads. That’s how it’s supposed to be. Older people become tired of fighting. Young metal heads like you are necessary for it’s existence and what we stand for. I hope you can create other accolades. Heavy metal must live forever 🤘💪⚔️⚔️🛡
I think we've seen our next generation of headliners. Sabaton replaces Maiden, Striker replaces King Diamond/Mercyful Fate. Municipal Waste, Power Trip, Warbringer, and Havok are the new big 4. Amon Amarth is going to be the top Death Metal headliner, Behemoth for Black Metal, Lamb of God for groove metal, ect. We have to replace the original headliners with the new bands, prepare for retirements, ect.
10 hours at work, desperately need a shower and food and a cup of coffee.....but Blackmetal Werewolf has a new video so I have to fucking watch it immediately.
So I don't believe heavy metal can die at this point, first about the record labels, probably better off without them if you want money, in general terms, record labels screw over artists and that's about it, I agree with Glen Fricker, with the internet you have so many ways to get your music out there that there will always be metal bands, and don't forget a lot of metal bands also do have normal jobs, even if all the money goes then there will still be people there for the love of metal, metal is so powerful because of it's dedicated fanbase, it doesn't have to get on it's knees and suck off the mainstream audience to stay alive. I don't think metal will collapse on itself like hair metal, the core (aka important) metal audience seems to hate "sellouts" and it's obvious if a band is just doing it for a trend, trends will die, true good metal wont. I really hope that government censorship doesn't affect metal, this whole sjw BS really grinds my gears, and honestly, if metal is ever illegal due to being offensive, i'll either kill myself or live in isolation, I think they might reconsider if a group of metalhead martyrs all collectively kill themselves in protest of censorship, for the metal I shall die! haha!
Trickster I actually saw something on Reddit the other day that hits on what you are saying. It looked at countries and their favorite types of music genres, along with the loyalty of the fans of that genre. Metal was in the top 5 of almost all of them. Lots of weird genres I've never heard of before were on the lists too, but metal was always there.
heavy metal will certainly never actually die, but my theory is heavy metal will be opressed for a while in the near future, then its gonna bounce back even stronger than before. then i think theres gonna be a whole new movement of metal we havent reached yet. and int the mean time, there might be a surge of other genres like rap, taking alot of influence and spirit of heavy metal, furthering the spirit of metal into new areas and infecting other genres
Metal festivals are getting bigger every year in Europe. Wacken is always sold out. Metal will never be mainstream because us metalheads won't let it. Metal is forever. When it's in the blood it's IN the blood
Brother we had the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) in the states. They tried this bullshit with metal in the 80s and they got fucked into obscurity.
I have to disagree with the comment on Country music (not pop country crap) and rap (not mumble rap crap) their lyrics are heavy in diffrent ways never forget metal came from the blues.
Hmmm, I don't think that Metal would ever die - but it could easily go the way of jazz, blues, etc many young people ..look at a lot of classic rock as dad rock.. I do think that rock/metal framework/idiom could potentially exhaust itself, fizzle out and become even more niche. If you look at the state of rock music in the last 20 years, there has not been tons of innovation, rock has been constantly recycllng ideas since alt and indie rock came about, its also lost appeal amongst youth. Vans warped tour is finished, many of the prominent acts that (that innovated the genre) play stadiums - ie. Iron Maiden, JUdas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, etc are getting old/retiring. There are not many modern metal bands that have such a mass following. Hip- Hop is the music of youth and rebellion these days (there's actually a lot of really good, socially conscious hip hop and being a metal elitist who shuns other genres is close minded) - Rap sells, but it also innovates, and represents a large portion of the population who want change, visibility and representation. Hip Hop is also easier to produce, and you don't need a full band with equipment/instruments to make good music. Bands these days rely on tour money and merch sales to make revenue, albums are pirated, physical copies sell less (CD's maybe not vinyl) - if metal is stagnating, if the audiences for metal are becoming smaller and smaller, they won't be making money and its going to be harder to tour. Metal still remains very popular in Europe, but in North America, as I've mentioned, the averrage age of metal heads is increasing, and less and less youth are interested in it as an artform, and their are so many "revival'" clone bands that do nothing to further the genre - when music stops innovating, it dies. If people want dark angry music their are so many other options these days - noise, power violence, socially conscious hip hop like kendrick lamar, all kinds of abracive electronic, music, etc. I think a lot of people are changing socially,. too, and find the metal community can actually be a bit regressive, racist, homophobic and a boys club, where women still sometimes face misogyny or just bullshit (that makes it hard to fit in). As social attitudes change music lyricism needs to be able to evolve - not necessarily in lock step with one certain set of politics... but be aware, and maybe tackle new issues, like issues and shit women face. I'd love to see a band write songs about the hardshipsof being gay or trans - how people get bullied and murdered, etc. As a gay metal head I've observed intolerance with in the community first hand, now I don't want any kind of censorship, people can write songs about whatever they want - but its the bands views outside of songwriting that can get them in trouble. Anyways all this shit said, I think Metal will continue along its current trajectory and become more and more a niche genre, with many subgenres, but over time it probably lose a lot of its broader appeal.
Shawn Smith not going to lie... You did put a tear in my face. The entire time i thought that the reason why metal was going down was because the sound was getting too progressive for the every day listener (all though it is the infrastructure of the genre). I was wrong, i realized that ideologically it is a bit regressive after reading your input. I used to be a bit misogynist and homophobic when i was very young so im no saint to any of this, now some of my best freinds are gay, bi, & lesbian. I did have a taste of bullying in middle school ,for defending my cousin who is gay, by being called the F word and being shown gay pornography. I guess it was karma, not only for being a cunt but for leaving my cousin behind. Ever since, ive opened my eyes and detested social injustices. The funny thing is that it wasn't that long ago either im still 18 yrs old and am aspiring to create a band with my brother. I myself always think about these issues and their always argued in social media. Im always there helping defend women, lgbtq, and non whites out there. With always keeping this saying in my head: there will always be an opinion to another's opinion. I cant shake the feeling but to think that i probably needed to read this for another reason. I honestly do feel like i can make more lyrics off this thought. Maybe i should write about this shit people go through just bc they didn't fot the standards of the assholes who believe they are running this dump
as long its in are souls and in are hearts. metal will never die. as long as the drive is there and the desire to love it is there.its always going to be there for me. killer vid and desusion on this topic Wolf. \m/
Werewolf, the pop music of the seventies had one hell of a lot of talent in it... With disco ,it was the music industry invented the failed genre... It's depicted in the movie musical " Dreamgirls"..If you're curious about it,I suggest that you should watch this film.
I'm not a fan of Newer Metal, but the bands and atmosphere that once (technically still does, and always will) defined the iconic and wild genre of Metal will never die. It's been ingrained into metalheads throughout diverse communities in the world for life. and of course, as the Magnificent and Rock icon, Ronnie James Dio has made clear : *Metal will never die* But if there is one thing that can kill it: Let's face it = Pop Music :p
As long as metal is seen as clownery in the eyes of the mainstream, it will be alive. I mean, when Lordi won Eurovision or a 80-years old dude sang 'Bodies' on America's Got Talent. Don't get me wrong: I am super proud of Lordi, and that was the last big breakthrough of metal into mainstream media. But let's be honest: "sheep" considered all of that as a funny show, they didn't care about riffs and stuff we appreciate. And that's fine. We just keep turning young guys and gals into metalheads.
Mr. Blackmetal Werewolf, Rap can be dark too just in a different way. You should listen to Dance With The Dead by Immortal Technique. but awesome video nonetheless
extreme metal, black metal, death metal, doom metal, thrash metal, will never die., ....period. any attempt to mute its growth and progression will be met with fierce opposition and revolt, End of story.
Duuuuude... The metal world is just as strong, if not more so, than it ever was in the 80's! I was 10 in 1980 and 20 in 1990 so my entire teen years were lived out in the 1980's. I was there when Headbangers Ball made it's debut. I remember when Dee Snider took on Tiper Gore and the PMRC nonsense. Most concerts had picketers with signs protesting the bands. The 'satanic scare' was huge back then... with Slayer, mainly the album's art works, being a big target. Most concerts were general admission... if you wanted to stand next to the stage then you arrived at the venue hours before show time. Most of us only listened to cassette tapes. Before the internet we had pen pals, or local buddies, to trade memorabilia with. 2018... My buddy owns a record store with almost 70,000 albums. The main room features metal, hard rock and progressive music only! Nobody, at least around my area, protest concerts anymore. Saw Marilyn Manson in 2015... no form of protest. You guys are still listening to some of the same bands I listened to, and still do. My 80's room was wallpapered in Iron Maiden and Def Leppard posters. I'll be 50 next year. Still buy cds. Just bought 'The Rules of Hell' boxed set featuring the Dio years of Black Sabbath. Rock on young ones!!!!
Funny thing, I have handful of CDs from Nuclear Blast but none from Metal Blade. Maybe I should get a Cattle Decap or Cannibal Corpse, BTBAM or Dragonforce CD from Metal Blade at some point. Or all three even to help with the Nuclear Blast equilibrium (one power metal (Nightwish - Vehicle of Spirit), one extreme metal (Enslaved - E) and one progressive metal (Meshuggah - Violent Sleep of Reason). Now if Metal Blade has any prog rock bands the equilibrium would be complete since I also own Opeth - Sorceress, pretty good album by the way. A little bit darker than the previous two.
I think I just nut (nut myself? nat? However you want to say it) seeinh that SIGNED Amon Amarth poster. Johan seems like a fucking bro, so I'll assume the same for Olavi, Ted, and Johan(n?) #2. Extremely fucking jealous, but glad you have it and are showing it with pride \m/ Props, mah dude.
The same thing happened to Rock n Roll right after Woodstock the businessmen saw how much money could be made....they went ape shit... What also may kill metal would be the band being told by the suits at the record company to repeat their last hit...
Yeah, older forms of heavy metal may dive underground in the centuries to come, but they won't die. There will always be people in need or demand of extreme music.
The thing that killed glam and almost thrash in the 80's was overexposure of their music videos. After 20 views of the same song/video in one day, it defeated the necessity to see them perform live.
As metalheads, we are loyal to metal! We may disagree on certain bands and sub-genres within metal. But we will stand strong when metal is under attack. Long Live Metal!
If all the legendary bands from the 80's will end their careers and if all the legendary musicians from the 'Golden Age of Metal' will die some day, this could become a problem at least for the big festivals. I'm not sure if the bands from the 90's and 2000's are able to replace these legends. I can't see any bands who can replace Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, Slayer and Metallica.
back in the day, if an album had "roadrunner records" on it, i would buy it. and i was only burnt once. fucking fudge tunnel. lmao. but it was a good time back then. dont forget comatose records, that ONLY does death metal.
nah. it might change but it will never die. i am pretty sure its a fundemental urge for some portion of the human population to seek out something darker, more intense and more complex than th music that appeals to most people. remember that most of the bands that got established once managed without a record label. so at least as far as money allows them, they will keep making music.
Technically as long as self producing, and self-releasing is around metal is probably never die. I mean like look at Hungry Lights, Avenged Sevenfold's Self-titled album is one of their best because they self produced it. Mindless Self Indulgence has a self producing record company where they literally release music to piss people off. They have songs titled "I Hate Jimmy Page", "Panty-Shot", and many more. Also I suggest the album Teratologie by the French Metalcore band Eths
The best thing with metal, is that it can't really stagnate now due to *all* these different type of metal genres which keeps it varied. I mean, look at Glam Metal (or Hair Metal), it didn't survive the 80's because every band sounded the same, and there wasn't that many different metal genres yet. Look now however? Black, Death, Power, Doom, Symphonic, Symphonic Black, Melodic Death and the list goes ON! And they each have their own distinct sound. So I doubt it'll ever stagnate, it'll simply pop more stuff. SYMPHONIC GOREGRIND ANYONE?! :D
Metal will never die!! You know why, because you know metal has all these new things and bands comin out and also there bands like the big 4 that are so famous i mean, have you seen metallica!?!
I think there’s a lot of creative special music outside of metal. And dark bands are in almost every genre. Just look at nick cave & the bad seeds or a dark country band like sixteen horsepower.
How did you not stab yourself in the head with those bracelets when you were on your bed??

Pop dies everyday. When a pop song is 2-3 weeks old, it dies. When metal song is 30 years old, people are still listening to it.
DFD the only exception with the pop songs is a throwback thing or it's revitalized on Just Dance or something.
how old is black sabbath's black sabbath and paranoid and its still alive along with many old school metal songs
So true
Brian J#65 people always say, “ look how much has changed in the last 50 years”, but Black Sabbath has still remained one of the best and heaviest bands and with timeless songs

real metal will never die
Bands like Black Sabbath Judas Priest and Iron Maiden will live on forever in the Metal community
+Dio and Motorhead
Robert Aff. Bands like The Pirates of the 60s and 70s did a great job of inspiring both early metal and punk.
We're not just talking about the music here, but the community as well.
Don't forget Diamond Head
Would Power Metal be included on the never will die list ?
Metal will never die. It will always exist in some form.
Tommy Green lol
Ethan Mars in some form
Ali Jr. By that I mean, whether it’s underground or mainstream. No matter what subgenre is big. Where it’s big. And a multitude of other factors, no matter what it’ll always be there as long as music is still around.
Tommy Green you don’t think there are a few hair/nu/core bands of today?
So many puns I can throw out from this comment
"They may take away our lives, but they will never take...OUR METAL!" ~ Brothers of Metal
BTW, this is actually another good reason to buy CDs instead of listening on the internet.
You could hide them away, whereas soundcloud could take them down
Hauntr yeah
I must confess though that I don't by cds yet because of money
And cassettes as well
Metal will never die mate , the fan base might get smaller with time but the music stays forever.
Overproduction...
Overproduction is a big BIG problem and kills it
...
For me
Good production sounds great in metal as long as there's no auto tuned vocals I can get behind a very nicely produced metal
stuff can be well produced with out being over produced, you need to keep some grit and edge to the sound/production, or else it becomes sterile, less organic and loses its bite
Shawn Smith Completely agree. I think the overly-triggered drums are one of the main problems.
rebel wizard has solved that problem. best band around atm

orion parker well they say Metal has some traces of influence from classical music, that includes anything that isn't symphonic or power metal even.
Kaelan McAlpine true just look at Dream Theatre
this is why you indocrinate your kids into liking metal ensure there will be at least another two generations of metalheads lol

ByrneMJames Don't forget Japan. Almost every metal band that goes international plays there.
THEY CAN TAKE AWAY OUR LIFES BUT THEY CAN NEVER TAKE OUR METAL!!!!!!!!
*You cant kill Metal, Metal kills you!*
As long as metalheads keep buying music and merch and going to shows it will live on. Cool video. Keep the faith \I I/
I paused Lich King for this and I was not disappointed. glad your back cobber cheers from the land down under.
Fucking Slayer
Heavy metal can never die coz we the fans are always be fucking supporting it no matter what.
10 hours at work, desperately need a shower and food and a cup of coffee.....but Blackmetal Werewolf has a new video so I have to fucking watch it immediately.
I actually like hair metal though
ChronoWind same😩
Off topic, but I love your Thor's Hammer pendant and your spiked guantlets.
It will always live on in some shape, way, form, or fashion. There are metal heads in every generation.
Lots of weird genres I've never heard of before were on the lists too, but metal was always there.
jake berry Thanks for sharing! That's actually super dope! How did it care to more mainstream genres like pop and rap?
Metal will never die beacause we keep it alive.
heavy metal will certainly never actually die, but my theory is heavy metal will be opressed for a while in the near future, then its gonna bounce back even stronger than before. then i think theres gonna be a whole new movement of metal we havent reached yet. and int the mean time, there might be a surge of other genres like rap, taking alot of influence and spirit of heavy metal, furthering the spirit of metal into new areas and infecting other genres
Nice video production! I see that you are putting more effort into your videos and it shows.
Metal festivals are getting bigger every year in Europe. Wacken is always sold out. Metal will never be mainstream because us metalheads won't let it. Metal is forever. When it's in the blood it's IN the blood
Agreed brother us metalheads are united. Thrash till Death.
Hi does anyone like GWAR
who doesnt like gwar?
originalityhere people who are silly and need a slap by the Sleazy P Martini
topnotch cupoftea fuck yeah
I don't like GWAR. I fucking love them! Best show I've ever seen
Goblin yh the live shows look BLOODY amazing (pun intended)
Brother we had the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) in the states. They tried this bullshit with metal in the 80s and they got fucked into obscurity.
As long as it doesn't go mainstream! always evolving been listening for 40+ years.
That judas priest album is fucking amazing!
as long its in are souls and in are hearts. metal will never die. as long as the drive is there and
the desire to love it is there.its always going to be there for me. killer vid and desusion on this topic Wolf. \m/
Im a lil Black Metaler, Blackmetal will never die!!
Now I'm getting paranoid...
Werewolf, the pop music of the seventies had one hell of a lot of talent in it... With disco ,it was the music industry invented
the failed genre... It's depicted in the movie musical " Dreamgirls"..If you're curious about it,I suggest that you should watch this film.
3:14 quote of the century
I'm not a fan of Newer Metal, but the bands and atmosphere that once (technically still does, and always will) defined the iconic and wild genre of Metal will never die. It's been ingrained into metalheads throughout diverse communities in the world for life. and of course, as the Magnificent and Rock icon, Ronnie James Dio has made clear : *Metal will never die*
But if there is one thing that can kill it: Let's face it = Pop Music :p
Metal isn't going to die,as long as dedicated musicians and fans are around.
Any new video love watching you.
You do have good points. But you gotta think to people have tried to kill heavy metal and look what happens we get even stronger.
extreme metal, black metal, death metal, doom metal, thrash metal, will never die., ....period. any attempt to mute its growth and progression will be met with fierce opposition and revolt, End of story.
Metal is becoming more underground.
I will never give up Metal
Metal Will Rise 💜💯
Metal well never die
Metal never faded
Long live for metal.
But honestly even i think the same way thinking crazy thought over things.
The same thing happened to Rock n Roll right after Woodstock
the businessmen saw how much money could be made....they went ape shit... What also may kill metal would be the band being told by the suits at the record company to repeat their last hit...
Yeah, older forms of heavy metal may dive underground in the centuries to come, but they won't die. There will always be people in need or demand of extreme music.
"They doont actually care aboot the muoosic." -Black Metal Werewolf
I’ve thought the same thing before but I know metal isn’t going anywhere. 🖤 But, can I just emphasize your handsomeness in all your videos 🖤
The thing that killed glam and almost thrash in the 80's was overexposure of their music videos. After 20 views of the same song/video in one day, it defeated the necessity to see them perform live.
Go listen to Dio - metal will never die, it will definitely calm you down and make you know that metal will last forever 🤘
I didn't know about Sears in Canada but it's crazy that I went out of business
As metalheads, we are loyal to metal! We may disagree on certain bands and sub-genres within metal. But we will stand strong when metal is under attack. Long Live Metal!
***Dio and David Rock Feinstein - Metal Will Never Die playing...
That's why we all should support our local independent scend
Thnx for the vid
THE GODS MADE HEAVY METAL, & IT'S NEVER GONNA DIE!!!
-what could kill metal?
-NOTHING!!!
Dio said it metal will never die
YOU CAN TAKE THE RECORD LABELS BUT YOU'LL NEVER TAKE THE PASSION FOR METAL! In all honesty I think metal will never die
I think there’s a lot of creative special music outside of metal. And dark bands are in almost every genre. Just look at nick cave & the bad seeds or a dark country band like sixteen horsepower.
