    All looks awesome man good job but I have one question if you want to keep the factory stamp in tact and dye everything around it how do you go about doing that like the shrike that you had That is up for auction that’s exactly kind of how I wanna do my captains raptor but I just don’t necessarily know how to keep that factory stamp intact

    • @SaysCraig
      @SaysCraig  2 роки тому

      Typically I don’t do anything. There is a risk that it could get damaged, but a lot of the time they are just fine. If you want to be safe you could make sure to use minimal (or zero) acetone.
      Lately I’ve been using PCAD dye, small amount of denatured alcohol, tiny bit of warm water to dissolve the dye and floeteol. Haven’t had a stamp messed up yet.
      Keep in mind though you always risk damaging it because some stamps are more sensitive. If you want to be sure, cover it with some glue and let it dry on the disc over the area you want to protect.

  • @MylesoftheMillers
    @MylesoftheMillers 3 роки тому +1

    Exactly what brand of contact paper did you use? I tried masking off an area on a disc with a stamp on it and after it blocked dye from getting onto it in my lotion dye i peeled it off and it peeled much of the stamp's color off of it resulting in a sort of silver color. Does the type of stamp matter at all or is that an error in my poor choice of a substitution for actual contact paper?
    One of the most helpful videos I've watched.

    • @SaysCraig
      @SaysCraig  3 роки тому +3

      I always use contact brand paper I buy at the dollar store. I haven’t had it hurt a stamp yet but I do know that certain stamps (or foils) are more likely to be damaged.
      Try light heat before you peel it off. It will help loosen the glue up a bit. Even hot water might work.
