It's nice to see riders whom appreciate just how GOOD a BAD road can be!!
In July 2023 we drove 2 Model T Fords to the top what an epic drive and view from up there.
Awesome Video! I grew up in Sandpoint, ID and man, did this video ever make me homesick!
Burnt Knob is no joke on a fully loaded AdV bike!
Well done. My brothers and I just did this. Tenere 700, R 1200GS, 1989 Transalp 600. Best part of the IDBDR for us.
Thanks we had a great time. And no, my AT. Is the manual version. Thanks for watching.
Heck of a climb. I love the way the Africa just torques its way up the hill.. It makes me think of having 2 XR500's running 270 degrees out from each other. Still like a thumper, except smoother. Yours sounds stronger off the bottom than my all stock 2019. Maybe I just haven't pushed her yet. Really like mine. Am sure that KTM is a great bike as well.
Great climb & great view from the summit!....👍👍👍
Nice track and boy does that Twin ever sound sweet! 👍🏻
This is the best video representation of how rough this is on big bikes. Buddy and I did it last summer and after just one time, you remember each and every big boulder. Hoping to head back there in the next two weeks.
Burnt Knob, indeed. At least the green grass leftover is still pretty!
Nice RIDE! Funny how cameras work, when you look uphill it doesn't look near a steep as the rear view.
wow nice shoot. will try this on our channel :) thanks from Indonesia
Always good to have "Burnt Knob" saying !! Great video and riding!! Be safe going back down, you always forget how steep it is, til you go back down on a big bike. I have a WR 250, but have gone up some gravel roads in Ark on my FJR 1300, then wonder why the hell I did it, on the way down haha
Hey!
I'm from Germany and I really like your videos. Awesome places to ride. Just tell uncle Donald to send me a Greencard and I come over there!
Greetings Chris!
Serious skills for sure!👍
Awesome video as per usual
The view up there made it all worth it im sure!
I love your videos. That looks insane.
Sick Gnar dude! That looked fun.
Nice ride and beautiful scenery
Loving the riding videos! Lets see more of your IDBDR ride!
Coming soon
Good footage. I enjoyed the rear view camera.
Wow. Made it about 2/3 up on the KTM 1290 SAS last Sept of 2020 and found out the hard way a big bike was beyond my riding skills. Skid plate hit a large rock and the bike bucked like a bronco, with me on the hillside and it laying flat with no way to right size. Rule 1: read the signs. Rule 2: bring a ride buddy. Four hours later, and the help of two awesome USFS Rangers, I had the bike back on the Magrudor and rode humbly on the main trail. You guys ride amazing. Inspirational.
Thank you, and thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video, please do more of them with larger ADV bikes. Love the back facing cut shots. Also great to see my KTM can actually do that type of riding :)
Great riding right there! Cameras always make inclines and trails like this look relatively straightforward, but I am sure this was anything but.
A couple tricky spots but weh, noice views.👍👌 Had to go look if this tower was on the rental list. It's not.
Nice, that's a sexy section of the BDR.
That last section looked kinda chunky . Hope I get the opportunity to ride one of the western BDRs this year . With everything crazy as it is and my mom's health deteriorating I shouldn't venture to far . It's places like that that keep me sane . Look forward to your next video of your BDR trip !
dang, you guys made it look easy on the big bikes.. I made it up pretty easy on 701 but thats a different bike..
Awesome vid
Nice ride!
Putting that twin to work!
I'd like to see footage of you going up that road from someone in front of you. the KTM suspension looked like it was working fabulously.
Great video, only now do I realise the effort of making these videos after starting to do my own channel. Well done. Enjoy, stay safe!
Thanks and congrats in the new channel!
@@backcountryadvmoto Hope everything is going well with you, as I haven't seen anything new on the channel in a few months.
How do you like the vibration reduction handlebars? On a single track etc
Love the audio quality! My biggest struggle is trying to overcome the windnoise (dead cat & all) and getting the sound of the bike (mine's a Super Tenere). What is your camera/mic set up. Audio is just so good!
Thanks the struggle is real, but this is what works best for me. I use the GoPro foam cover. It’s doesn’t look the best, but it WORKS so I don’t care. I have the camera mounted in front of the chin vent, and the audio is just from the built in mics in the GoPro 8. It picks up the voice perfect though the chin vent and foam while still maintaining good bike and trail noice. Here is the chin mount and foam covers I use. The only downside is at highway speed it struggles. But to be honest I don’t do a lot of vlogging on the pavement so it’s not an issue for me.

That’s awesome! What suspension are you running and how do you like it? I’ve been taking my ATAS off road a little more lately and am looking for an upgrade.
mph335 Ohlins full front forks and rear shock. Tuned to my style
Looks easy to me.
Haha maybe with a hiking stick and some decent boots .
Hey how long does the Idaho BDR usually take to ride? I've been debating planning for it but I need to know how much time to take off work.
Love your videos. We have the same career fields, Army then LEO.
You could probably do it at 7 Days without killing yourself, but I would say for most writers I would take a minimum of 10 days to do it to really enjoy the scenery and a little town to go through
You running lower PSI on that stuff?
Just did Hagerman Pass outa Leadville. Similar on a 900 Tiger Rally Pro. Gotta get some better tires though.
How are you liking your Tiger Pro?
@@NathanEdminster Love love love it! Went for 100 miles of gravel roads on it back here in Iowa. CO getting cold.
@@markjacobs6294 awesome, thanks, looking at picking an adventure bike and I keep coming back to the Tiger Rally Pro.
Hey, Where are you?
Nice ride! Little complaint: 6:50 Last 20 sec where we could appreciate splendid landscape, half of the screen is covered by call-to-click links right into the face: GEAR & BEER/CAMP SOLO and your sticker... that's a big MEH man.
Damn it UA-cam! I’ll go in and fix that now. Thanks for the feed back
All, I love these videos, but effective today, based on UA-cam's
fascist censorship, I am unsubscribing and canceling my UA-cam account.
If you show up on Rumble. I'll be there!
Thanks for your support. I completely understand.
@@backcountryadvmoto are you still making videos???
@@Lukebob10 I am, just been out of it for a while. I’ll get back in to soon. I had a few things that have kept me very busy since mid summer, but I’m getting more free time very soon
@@backcountryadvmoto awesome dude. i look forward to the next videos.
I second that. Love the channel, have missed your videos, and am also put off by UA-cam's recent policy decisions. Would love to see you on an alternate platform!
