    Picked these up because of your previous review of them. Great bags when you don't have to worry too much about security.

    I'm pulling the trigger on the Giant Loops, based on this video. Good job! Love your vids (have sub'd), and I'm very surprised that you don't have more subscribers. Strange.

      Not yet, but I have one coming soon. I use a cabalas ultralight backpacking tent that I love, but lone rider is sending me their ADV tent to check out. I’m curious to see how it is.

    Great video. Few quick questions: Did you mount these on asymmetrical rack? If so, any issues other than just offset? In cities, how do you secure them? Really am looking to add these to my 18 ATAS but was surprised when I installed the Outback rack and realized it is asymmetrical.

    I'm looking at a set of these as well... I currently run SW-Motech hard bags for the long road type trips... like my Arctic Circle ride a year ago... I"m wondering if that mount system works with the SW Motech frame mounts.... Great videos

    I’m sure you considered Mosko bags as well. Any major points that made you choose GL over MM? Thanks

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  3 роки тому

      There were a few things. The durability, customer service, and the fact that they are made in the USA was really big for me. I’ve had GL gear for years and it just seems to out last all other soft luggage.

    How are these in comparison to mosko moto? Pros/cons between the two

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  4 роки тому +3

      +Jakudah Symba in my opinion they are better than the Mosko because they are made in the USA not China, and the material is thicker and stronger. I know a lot of people who have had blown out welded seams on the Mosko stuff. At the moment they are the easiest soft luggage to take on and off with the available QR mounts. To be fair, I’ve never owned the Mosko Moto stuff, but I know a lot of people who have and many of them have been disappointed with the build quality

    Do you have to unload all the stuff out of the yellow waterproof sacks to reload them back into the paniers?

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  4 роки тому

      Stillwater no not at all. The yellow bag just makes it convenient if you want to take only the contents of the yellow bag out into your campsite or hotel room

    thanks for the detail. Question, can i get just the bags and not the quick release system? would this strap on to the typical ADV tube racks? i have a 1250GS with the tube side racks. or do i need the quick release system ?

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  3 роки тому

      Great question and thanks for watching. There are two ways that these attach to the bike one being the quick release system and the other being the "puck system" like on normal hard panniers.( touratech-usa.com/Store/Pannier-Mounting-Kit-18mm ) They are not able to be attached securely with out one of these systems. The QR system is very nice and convenient and lockable. The other hardware is also nice and sturdy, but you have to remove items out of the pannier to be able to get to the pucks to detach the pannier. I personally thing the QR mounts are the best option.

    Hi I know this post was a year ago but I have question on the quick release system.
    My tubing comes up around 19 mm(I guess it’s 18mm with paint on). Are you panniers 18 mm tubing? Is it a snug fit
    Cheers from the Uk

    • @backcountryadvmoto

      They are 18mm racks and there is enough play that 19mm would be fine. Who makes your racks?

      Most people have super cheep locks that ANYONE with a wave pick or a screwdriver can get into as fast as they could with the key.
      Funny coincidence my friends KTM super Duke with the keyless start fob died at work tonight. we were trying to" hot wire" ( needs a dealer diagnostic tool) it and probably 10-20 people walked by including a cop ( parked at a hospital ER) and no one said anything. We looked like we were official ( scrubs). It kinda scared me how easily it was to 1 replace the antenna and 2 no one even gave a second glance as we disabled the lock and were pushing the bike on the trailer.
