Tom Kiefer's not a household name, but he should have been! Hard to believe this band only put out four albums. So yeah, the rabbit hole is not deep, but you still have some tunneling to do. For your next one, try "Somebody Save Me", "Gypsy Road", "The Last Mile", "Coming Home", or "Shelter Me". Any of those would be great choices.
Cinderella were phenomenal in concert. I won tickets years ago over the radio by answering the question, “Who was Cinderella’s (the band) fairy godmother. “ It was John Bon Jovi who got them signed into stardom. 👍🏻😊🙌🏻❤️
I saw them too in concert back in the 80's haha They weren't my fave band at all but they were better than their appearance would suggest. It was a good show, not earth shattering good but still decent and the tickets were free since a guy friend took me. I had same thing happen (from your story) but it was with AC DC where I won tickets.
Agreed. I saw them twice, both on hair metal tickets with 3 other bands both times. Poison, Dokken, Winger and others. Cinderella stole the show both times. They sounded just like the records. So tight!
I remember well when Bon Jovi took Cinderella on tour to get them going. Cinderella opened played their Night Songs album from front to back, and in my opinion blew Bon Jovi away. I was 17 or so just out of highschool. The rookies stole the show that night.
RIP guitarist Jeff LeBar. You talked about their stage presence and hit the nail on the head. I saw this band several times. They were everything you wanted in a rock band. They were larger than life.
One of my favorite bands of the 80's. No hair band incorporated the blues into their music better than Cinderella. So many great songs but definitely check out Cinderella's Gypsy Road.
A fun fact about Cinderella is that Jon Bon Jovi saw them live one time, and he thought they had potential. He helped them get a record deal, and I believe him and Richie Sambora cameo in the Somebody Save Me music video.
So cool to see younger people hearing this for the first time. Helps me remember when I first heard it in 1886. There is hope for the younger generation! Keep on Rockin!
Cinderella should have been as prominent as 80's bands like Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, or Bon Jovi (who they opened for!) ... They scored 2 huge multi-platinum records ('Night songs' and 'Long cold winter') but they were pegged as a 'hair band'... So, they incorporated southern rock and country western influences into the 3rd album 'Heartbreak station' in 1990... Unfortunately, vocalist/ guitarist Tom Kiefer developed vocal problems on tour in 1991 and needed surgery... While Cinderella was forced to take a break, Nirvana and Pearl Jam broke big in 1992 and ended the careers of (most of) the 80's hair bands. Tom Keifer was finally able to recover to sing in the studio for the 4th Cinderella album 'Still climbing' in 1994, but the album sold poorly and the band split by 1996... Cinderella did reunite to tour again in 1998, but never made another record for some reason. Tom Keifer decided to go solo after 2010... Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar passed away in 2021.
Here's why...they did get a new deal 1996 or so with the reactivated Portrait label with Sony, who were signing former hair metal bands put out to pasture due to the advance of grunge & alt-rock...they put out a Ratt record for instance...well something happened in that deal that nothing was released and they either got dropped or they sued to get out of the deal and were stuck in litigation for years...then Tom was recovering from vocal problems, then Jeff had addiction problems which basically caused Tom to end the band, then Jeff died...sucks about the Sony period, I wonder if any recordings were ever made...but I'm a big Cinderella/Tom fan...the song "Heartbreak Station" is so good, it's like a rich alt-country ballad with a heartbreaking lap steel guitar solo & string arrangement...
@@lawrencedavis4406 The Portrait/ Sony deal was on them... Yes, Ratt admitted they were under pressure to deliver an 'updated' record and that failed in 1999... But Great White put out an awesome record "Cant' get there from here"... Iron Maiden released 'Brave New World' ... on that 1998 to 2001 window. Tom & Cinderella were either (I'm guessing) not motivated to deliver on their terms, or just hamstrung creatively by internal creative problems. Either way, they spent studio money and did not deliver contractually within that window of opportunity. So, of course, the label wanted their money (or product) back. Cinderella were not ready to produce music and I guess it showed... I could name so many 80's bands that had the opportunity to put out new music, but just gave up - Warrant, Kix, Slaughter, Ratt, Poison, Faster Pussycat, Firehouse, Dangerous Toys, Lita Ford, White Lion, Twisted Sister, Guns N' Roses... And yet, there were plenty of bands who kept putting out records, even independently, just to keep themselves creative - L.A. Guns, Bon Jovi, Dokken, Def Leppard, Enuff Znuff, Great White, WASP, Tesla, etc.
I just saw Tom Keifer the other day in Melbourne FL & he still rocks!! NEXT CINDERELLA SONGS - GYPSY ROAD - SOMEBODY SAVE ME Oh yeah, and I caught both a guitar pick & a drum stick. So freakin’ awesome!!!
Love me some Tom Kiefer and Cinderella. Gypsy Road next please!! Yes, Tom had a distinctive voice. Still touring with his own band. Sadly, the guitarist, Jeff LaBar, and the keyboardist, Gary Corbett, both passed away on the same day a year ago. RIP
" Shake it, don't break it baby" actually was a saying back then. I thought this music would never die. They had syndicated radio stations, like "Pirate Radio", that played hard rock as we called it on weekends. I still have my personal cassette tapes from that era.
I remember Pirate Radio! I miss that station. I used to have the black and blue bumper sticker on my 88 corolla. Those were the days. Out here in Southern California it was 100.3FM. Now it's The Sound . Classic Rock music
YES!!!, Aqua Net was the BOMB. Easy enough to go thru a can or two every weekend. And YES!!!, the hair was everywhere. When bands were signed, written into their contracts was how much the record companies would spend on their stage costumes and hair. If they had long hair, more was sewn in, so it was thicker and fuller and looked better on stage and in pictures, and if they didn't have the long hair length was added, plus the hair color. Notice how many bands have black hair. The thought was it made them look dangerous. LOL
Omg that was my line in the 80s! Lmao. I always said that the 80s had the best music. This was from 1986 when I was 22. I loved all the 80s hair bands!! It was all rock. Thank you so much.
Hey y'all!!!!! This is such great song from a very underrated band. I think y'all might like Comin Home and Gypsy Road. By the way, Amber I love your hair like that!!!!!!
Yes...people walked around with big hair in the latter half of the 80s. I finished hair school in the 80s and I used plenty of Paul Mitchell's Freeze & Shine spray to get hair to stay as high as it could be made to. I stopped doing hair in '89..and was happy to be done with it.
Hey Jordan and Amber, Cinderella actually released this song before "Nobody's Fool" The next Cinderella song you should check out is "Somebody Save Me"
I AM JUST LOVING THE FACT THAT AMBER IS SO HAPPY ABOUT THE LINE "SHAKE IT DON'T BREAK IT"!!! JUST MORE EVIDENCE THAT AMBER WAS DEFINITELY BORN IN THE WRONG DECADE!!! THAT WAS A VERY POPULAR CATCH PHRASE BACK IN THE 70S AND 80S!!! AND JORDAN YES ANYBODY THAT COULD GROW HAIR LIKE THAT, HAD HAIR LIKE THAT, MYSELF BEING ONE OF THEM!!! I KNOW, HARD TO BELIEVE WHEN YOU LOOK AT MY CURRENT PICTURE, BUT IT WAS TRUE!!! MY HAIR WAS VERY MUCH LIKE ROBERT PLANT'S OF LED ZEPPELIN'S HAIR, ALTHOUGH NOT QUITE AS LONG BUT DEFINITELY CURLY AND PUFFED OUT LIKE THAT!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!😁😁😎
I love Shake Me by Cinderella as well. I have it on my workout Playlist on my I-pod Classic device too. Somebody Save me is another great song by Cinderella to react to or Night Songs , or The last mile or my personal favorite song from Cinderella called I'm coming home.
Seen these guys live twice and this song absolutely kills it! Often serves as their show closer. Saw them in both an outdoor amphitheater and and a very small indoor venue that was part of a bowling alley and they had amazing energy in both settings. Great band!
Hey guys, not sure if you'll see this comment but...if you like this band/singer. You should check out a band called "Brittany Fox". The lead singer sounds very similar, and sadly, they are often a very overlooked band. Songs to consider "Girl School" and "Long Way to love". I think you'll enjoy them. *And yes, I had the Long 80's hair back in the day! 🤘😄
The band are actually Britny Fox. 🦊 so many great songs. Girlschool for sure, Dream On, Long Way To Love, Standing In The Shadows, Save The Weak, In America and Livin’ On The Edge are a good set of songs as a starter. Johnny Dee the drummer from Britney Fox has hinted that they might be going back on the road with the original line up !!! Fingers crossed for that to go ahead !! Back to Cinderella, Coming Home, Heartbreak Station, Shelter Me, Push Push & Nobody’s Fool are more to listen too 👌👌🥂🥂🔥🔥🎶🎷🎼🎵🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🏴🏴❤️❤️🥂🥂🥃🥃🥃🥃🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Loved this band! This was my first concert aside from a state and county fairs shows. There were well over 70K people there Cinderella was playing with Bon Jovi. At that time this was the largest crowd Cinderella had ever played for and they kept circling the crowd above in helicopters taking pictures. I remembered reading in a Hit Parade or other magazine that Tom Keifer took those pictures and had them blown up and put them up in his home on a wall memorial. I always thought it was cool my picture was on his wall...I was only in the 7th grade and was totally pumped.
Great reaction to a fantastic band. Amber, you have got to be the best chair dancer I have ever seen. Lol. Love all the hair band reactions. That's what I grew up to.
Glad you finally stumbled onto one of their heavier songs. So far, you had only caught the ballads from their first two albums. This song was the first song released from their first album, but I've always been partial to the third single they released, "Somebody Save Me." You've got to check out that video. It has a couple of great surprise guest appearances at the end of the video. And as others have said, "Gypsy Road" from their second album is a great song too. My favorite song by Cinderella has to be "Bad Seamstress Blues/Fallin' Apart at the Seams" that started off their second album. Unfortunately, it was never released as a single, but the song is posted on UA-cam. I seem to remember you all mentioning liking songs that have sudden tempo changes, and that song is the poster child for that.
In 2001-2002 tour I got to go see them. The show was Slaughter, Dokken, Cinderella, and Poison. Slaughter and Dokken rocked the house, Cinderella stole the show and Poison fell flat as a headliner coming on after the other 3 bands. Best part tickets was only 27 dollars each!
Jay, if you want to know if “everybody back in the ‘80’s had hair like that”, then may I suggest you simply get an ‘80-‘89’s yearbook from ANY high school, and take a look at their hairstyles! You’ll see that, YES INDEED, they had hairstyles exactly like that! I graduated from high school in 1980, and let me tell you, even in the late ‘70’s, some of the girls back then had the big “poofy” look! I always thought that their favorite perfume was Aqua-Net hairspray, they had so much of it on! 😆 😆 😆
A vastly underrated band in every way. Tom Keifer had an amazing voice and was an excellent guitarist/pianist too. Great songs and a fabulous live act as well. Saw them twice in Manchester, UK. Love them a lot
Amber you are appreciating harder and harder music. Your musical horizons are expanding. So fun to watch you 2 grow. Peace and Love ✌️ Ant from Santa Cruz
JAY! You had your eyes closed when they were throwing their guitars around at the end of the solo - you gotta go back and watch. It's an iconic moment in this video!
Bad Seamstress Blues/Falling Apart At The Seams should be your next one! It’s more bluesy at the beginning of the song but it quickly changes to more of a rock song! I guarantee you’ll love it
If you get the chance you should check them out live at the Moscow Music Peace Festival back in 1989, they were awesome! Actually check out the whole 2 shows, you can find it easily enough here on UA-cam, it had a great line up, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Skid Row, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Gorky Park.
All right my babies....I have seen Cinderella in concert, and they certainly rock pretty good ‼️ 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼💯 You can keep these hair bands coming all year long ‼️
Back in the 80s when I was into heavy metal I would see albums with this band called Cinderella and the photos of these over the top glam guys and think they had to suck....but I later found out how good they were and have always enjoyed them sense....never judge a band by the album cover.
Yes! More Cinderella! One of my fave groups from the 80s. I saw them in concert back in 80s with Bon Jovi and then 20 years later and they still kicked ass. So freaking good. Please do Somebody Save Me Next!!! It absolutely rocks hard!
You can’t go wrong with Cinderella….try to check out the next album “Long Cold Winter”….try “Coming Home”, “Bad Seamstress Blues”, “Don’t Know What You Got(Until it’s Gone)”, or Gypsy Road”…pretty awesome 80’zzz Pop Metal 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Jay & Amber, how about a great band for Female Friday! It’s Lake Street Dive- try their songs “You Go Down Smooth”, “Use Me Up” or “Bad Self Portraits”!! The great voice of Rachael Price, and talented musicians and harmonies! This US based band frequently tours in North America, Australia, and Europe.
Or Taylor Momsen the little girl in how the Grinch stole Christmas Cindy lu hoo is now the front woman of the pretty reckless and they have a few good songs
Hardest-touring hair band ever. I probably saw them five times in three years. They opened for everyone and headlined. They were just always touring. So good.
I'm so glad you watched this one. This one is the prequel to Nobody's Fool. If you watch them together you get the whole story. "With that dime I bought true love, but now I realize I'm not your fool, Nobody's fool, Nobody's Fool!" then she turns back into the girl in rags in the room, before the concert. a couple of bands did that with their videos so people would have to buy the tapes (lol) or box sets. Cinderella was a bluesy band caught in a hair metal wave. Tom's vocals are incomparable. Gypsy Road, Coming Home, The more things change, Bad Seamstress Blues, Winds of Change, Heartbreak Station, Last Mile, In From the Outside are all really good songs that showcase different aspects of Tom's skill at Piano, Guitar, and how he uses his voice to evoke pain.
I was 21 years old in 1984, this song was probably 88, 89. Everyone had long hair, to answer your question. You had to get perms regularly, long hairs, usually blow dry their permed hair and hit the spray, for party’s and Concerts.
my favorite band ... recently saw them ❤️... still rock in the house after 40 years🤘..... One of the most underrated bands ever.... sadly Jeff Labar their guitar player recently passed away
This video connects to Nobody's Fool. Remember the 2 girls in the polka dot car, it's the step sisters. You'll notice a difference in the lead singers voice. Sometime after Nobody's Fool, and You don't know what you've got till its gone. Tom's voice started going. He ended up having 7 throat surgeries and his left vocal cord is paralyzed. You should check out the live in Russia performance of Nobody's Fool
They always gave me AC/DC vibes. Yes, Amber, Aquanet was it! Soon followed by Rave. Few of their songs: "Somebody Save Me" "Gypsy Road" "Shelter Me" "Coming Home" "Heartbreak Station" "The Last Mile"
What a great band. Saw them live when they opened for Ozzy. I have always loved them, still have them on two or three playlists and still listen to them all the time. 80s "hair bands" were one of the greatest things to ever happen to music. Pure rocking craziness and some stellar ballads. The most underrated music genre ever.
I grew up on Cinderella. And yes I'm telling my age. LOL. But I LOVE this song. It's one of my favs. I love the reactions y'all have done. I can't wait to watch more. The "higher the hair the closer to God" Aqua Net was the "go to" for "Higher Hair". Try Gypsy Road by Cinderella. That was another good and popular one
I got to see Cinderella in their prime in 1989 and it was one of the best concerts I've seen. On that note... you have absolutely got to see the live version of Long Cold Winter. It's blusey and it's beautiful.
The music back then had "musicians". The guitar players, drummers etc all excelled in their craft. That is why when you talk about this older music people KNOW the members of the band. How many of us know all the members of the current bands now.
he had such a cool voice. when i was a teen the power went out and it was raining I stood out on the back porch smoking cigarettes and listening to this song on my walkman, turned all the way up, 😉 i had just gotten the album and never heard it, instantly fell in love.
Cinderella is from Philly. I used to roadie for bands in the Philadelphia area and did lights for the Empire Rock Club in Philly. I did their lights for their last gig at the Empire. Yeah they were a hair band, but they had talent. Tommy Keifer, Jeff LaBar (RIP), Eric Brittingham and Fred Courey were a good tight Rock and Roll band and much less on stage for their hair and looks. Always put on a great show. I was there right before they hit it big with their Night Songs debut. Brought back a lot of memories watching this.
Ohh don’t forget Heartbreak Station and don’t know what you got till it’s gone
@@jennytaylor4968 They did "Don't Know What..." back in January. But yeah, "Heartbreak Station" is another great one.
Also, Hot & Bothered
The last mile is good under appreciated song. Great suggestion.
Tom Keifer just released an album in the last couple years
Cinderella were phenomenal in concert. I won tickets years ago over the radio by answering the question, “Who was Cinderella’s (the band) fairy godmother. “ It was John Bon Jovi who got them signed into stardom. 👍🏻😊🙌🏻❤️

People can say whatever they want about 80's hair bands but the singerd could sing & the guitar players ripped it. Always a fun time at the shows too.
Gypsy Road is a must...loved these guys, so underrated
Gypsy road is one of my favorites
That is number one on my road trip playlist! Love it so much!
They were never “underrated”.
… And who's to care if I grow my hair to the sky
Everything they did is a must
“Gypsy Road” has to be next 🤘🤘
And then “Night Songs” but only if you need a shot of gasoline
One of my favorite bands of the 80's. No hair band incorporated the blues into their music better than Cinderella. So many great songs but definitely check out Cinderella's Gypsy Road.
Another rockin' one from Cinderella is "Somebody Save Me".
Somebody Save Me is one of their best
Yes, love that song. 🤘
A fun fact about Cinderella is that Jon Bon Jovi saw them live one time, and he thought they had potential. He helped them get a record deal, and I believe him and Richie Sambora cameo in the Somebody Save Me music video.
Did the same for Skid Row
Oh man I'd love to hear Cinderella somebody save me please please please
Also sang back up vocals on some of their songs

"Last mile" is another good one.
Saw them live on this tour with twisted sister, Cinderella blew them off the stage, maybe it was a bad night for TS. Tom's voice is one of a kind
Kiefer's voice has that "gargles with broken glass" quality.
Loved these guys when they first appeared on the music scene thanks to being discovered by Jon Bon Jovi.

One of the most fun and best live band I've ever seen, and I've seen them in 3 different decades and they always killed it.
Agree with Kim. Tom had the most gravely voice in the business. It was a shame they only put out 4 albums! Much love and light💙💙☀️☀️
Yes definitely Jay. Everyone & their grandmother (& grandfather) had their hair permed in the 80s. Me included! Great Times. 🎵 ❤🔥
Nice choice! Please do give "Bad Seamstress Blues" a listen, you're gonna love it...trust me.

80's heavy metal is the best music ever produced. The level of talent metal musicians have is heads and tails above other genres.
Derek Trucks thinks that's cute. 😜

Yeah, we would hold our bangs straight up or the sides straight out, then spray like crazy & blow-dry it into that height or width, lol.
Yes, Aqua Net hairspray was a definite necessity at the time. It held the hair in place very well.
I'm going to see Tom Kiefer of Cinderella tomorrow night. Can't wait to rock out!
The vocal technique Tom Kiefer uses is closest to the ones used by Brian Johnson of AC/DC and "Dizzy" Dean Davidson of Britny Fox.
“Coming Home” and “Bad Seamstress Blues” are bops!
Next should be “Long Cold Winter”.
Tom Keifer is still churning out great songs. Check out “Rise” from 2019.
A vastly underrated band in every way. Tom Keifer had an amazing voice and was an excellent guitarist/pianist too. Great songs and a fabulous live act as well. Saw them twice in Manchester, UK. Love them a lot
Long Cold Winter is my favorite song by Cinderella. Gives me goosebumps every time!
Amber you are appreciating harder and harder music. Your musical horizons are expanding. So fun to watch you 2 grow.
Peace and Love ✌️
Ant from Santa Cruz
JAY! You had your eyes closed when they were throwing their guitars around at the end of the solo - you gotta go back and watch. It's an iconic moment in this video!
Jay , yes we all walked around with big poofy hair. Mine was down to above my butt , tight curls and been every color imaginable
❤️
My favorite band as a teen. Lead singer has one of the all time great voices for rock.
This whole first album is rockin.
All 4 of them do
Long Cold Winter was a rock bluesy extravaganza!
Yes! More Cinderella! One of my fave groups from the 80s. I saw them in concert back in 80s with Bon Jovi and then 20 years later and they still kicked ass. So freaking good.
Please do Somebody Save Me Next!!! It absolutely rocks hard!
I agree with everyone that suggested that you react to their song “Gypsy Road” next. It’s so good! 💜
So much great music from Cinderella, the ac/dc influence was evident. Great band
They already did Don't Know What You Got('til it's gone)
@@RcksAngl i must’ve missed that one with my Alzheimer’s & stuff 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And I love Amber's new hairdo! She's rockin the hippie vibe! 💃🎵
I second this!
So good.
You need to react to Britny Fox- Gitlschool... another hair band and they sound alot like Cinderella
Next Cinderella - Gypsy Road!
I was 13 in 1980 and spent the rest of the 80's just Loving every minute of it! Metal rules! Cheers!
Great band!
Please react to Silent Lucidity from Queensryche
I second that!
I was 21 years old in 1984, this song was probably 88, 89. Everyone had long hair, to answer your question.
You had to get perms regularly, long hairs, usually blow dry their permed hair and hit the spray, for party’s and Concerts.
One of the best hair metal bands on the 80's. Tom Keiffer's vocals, especially on this song are crazy cool.
my favorite band ... recently saw them ❤️... still rock in the house after 40 years🤘..... One of the most underrated bands ever.... sadly Jeff Labar their guitar player recently passed away
Yes, aqua net and a hair dryer works miracles! I walked out every day with huge hair, lol.
Everybody had the hair in the 70's and 80's great time to be alive we had a blast. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕
Saw this band at donington in 1987. Never heard of them before. This song was an instant sing along. Great day.
Now you gotta listen to their song Gypsy Road!!! Another great hit!!!!
Gypsy Road is also a banger. I saw them in the 80's with Bon Jovi. One of my favorite shows!
Yes the music was rockin and the hair was big!! 80’s were awesome! Do Gypsy Road next!
Amber will love their song Shelter Me" because Tom shows not only can he sing , plays guitar , but also Sax in the song.
I have been saying this for a while..😀😀 "Nobody's Fool", Live from Moscow in 1989 by Cinderella
One of the best Hair Bands! In the 80’s hardly ever a bad song!!
They always gave me AC/DC vibes. Yes, Amber, Aquanet was it! Soon followed by Rave. Few of their songs: "Somebody Save Me" "Gypsy Road" "Shelter Me" "Coming Home" "Heartbreak Station" "The Last Mile"
AC/DC! Exactly what I was thinking
They sound the closest to a studio track in concert than any group I ever saw live. Their show was very well done.
80s music was the best. 80s was the best decade. Fun, Hopeful and happy unlike 90s and beyond.
Cinderella was my first concert opening up for Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet Tour! Just saw Tom Keifer 3 months ago he still has it rocked the house.
OH AND YES "GYPSY ROAD" IS DEFINITELY ONE THAT YOU SHOULD DO VERY SOON!!!
I grew up on Cinderella. And yes I'm telling my age. LOL. But I LOVE this song. It's one of my favs. I love the reactions y'all have done. I can't wait to watch more. The "higher the hair the closer to God"
Aqua Net was the "go to" for "Higher Hair".
Bad Seamstress Blues/Falling apart at the seams is absolutely worth checking out
Cinderella was one of the most underrated 80s hair bands. Coming Home and Gypsy Road are two must listens.
he had such a cool voice. when i was a teen the power went out and it was raining I stood out on the back porch smoking cigarettes and listening to this song on my walkman, turned all the way up, 😉 i had just gotten the album and never heard it, instantly fell in love.
A rocking song is “ Somebody Save Me” and a great ballad is “heartbreak Station”
