Glad you are back. Missed you man! I like the carpet! One thing you can do if the trailer is hot, back it in the water and leave it for a few minutes (obviously not if the ramp is busy, you might end up in the lake instead lol)
You did a professional job on the trailer. Your work area is super nice, clean organized and uncluttered. That’s a nice touch adding the attached retractable tie downs. Outstanding Job !
Metal hose clamps or even zip ties might apply temporary pressure until the glue sets up. A cheap vinyl tarp From Harbor Freight would catch any glue over spray from reaching the trailer. Just a thought. Nice work. Love final set-up.
Hi. I bought a jetski trailer to make it kayak (Hobie PA 14 360) ready. Can you tell what is the distance between both EMT runners? Center to center. Thanks
You will like the carpet, it will keep the EMT cooler for sure. Wondering why you had to build brackets for the emt. I used unistrut and pvc pipe, could had just bolted it right up. Love the trailer.
Love your video's TJ. I have a similar trailer and what I used on the steel sliders was round pipe insulation from HD. It comes in 5'-6' lengths and has a slit on one side that opens up and wraps completely around the pipes, comes in different diameters to match the size of the pipes. I used some wire ties to keep it in place but I guess you could glue it like you did with carpet I found it gives my Hobie some added cushion while travelling and sitting in the garage. Just another option to consider rather than carpet. Thanks for all your great kayak ideas.
5-6’ lengths you must be speaking about rubber correct? It should have white stripes where the slot is and remove those it’s extremely sticky stretches as long as you have the rite size stick it together be good to go. I’m a piping insulator 😉
@@KiddNCoop These were foam sections of insulation at Home Depot, They have a slit down the side that allows opening and sliding over the pipe, no sticky tape, that is why I use zip ties.
I used same style trailer. I dont like the idea of storing my pa14 on the bars, personal preference, so I made my base out of 2x6 treated lumber so its 100% supported from front to back. I also put mine on trailer backwards so I can drive it off with trolling motor and back it back on like a full size boat. Just a second idea. theres more then one way to skin a fish..... missed the videos. hows the truck coming along?
I am hauling a 15.5 and 13.5 trailer. Just bought a 12’ trailer with a 4’ tongue and 8’ flatbed. I am planning to add a receiver hitch on back with a 4’ truck bed extender to tailgate the kayaks. Would you extend the tongue? If so, what length?
Awesome setup. So I am about to get a hobie pa14….. my question is how did you mount your fish finder where you did. I don’t like the graphs on the side h rails I like it in the front like yours
A few questions; ratchet strap brand that bolts to the trailer? The paint you use to paint your trailer and if it needs a primer first or not? Thank you!
Great video TJ! Glad you are back on the Yak vids. I built your garage kayak cart and just love it, it’s also handy for holding my ice fishing sled during ice fishing season. You are my go to for kayak mods and ideas. Keep em rolling!
I've been watching your channel for some time now and I like what you're doing, keep up the good work. But I have to ask, what is that side caddy(with the Tightline Anchor sticker) with the plano boxes in them. Where did you get that?
Hi man. Thanks for these videos. :) Quick question, what's the spacing between the runners for the PA. Also I just bought an old jetski trailer for my PA14 360. It has the original square wood runners. Can I use those somehow, or should I change them out to pipes instead. Or bolt some pipes on top of the square runners. Thanks.
Thanks so much for this… love the channel. Watching all the old ones now. How did you get started with the trailer? Meaning where did you get the frame? Did you build that too and then add the wheels etc? Or did you buy that frame somewhere?
Those hard steel pipes are going to deform the bottom of your boat. There’s a reason to use pvc pipe, they flex and conform to the bottom of your boat. Use cell core pvc they flex much better than regular pvc.
Check out my trailer build video I linked it in the video description above, I can’t remember at the moment what they were, but I definitely went over them and where I got them in the build video.
Contact cement applied with a paint brush on both carpet and runners and wait a few minutes till the get tacky would have done the trick
Love the trailer! If you have to put new carpet on, you might could try wrapping some cheap saran wrap around it until the glue sets.
Could take self tappers with washer to secure carpet. Just screw it in the bottom.
What size emt are you using..love the Idea
Not sure but it looks like 2'' But could be wrong.
Glad you are back. Missed you man! I like the carpet! One thing you can do if the trailer is hot, back it in the water and leave it for a few minutes (obviously not if the ramp is busy, you might end up in the lake instead lol)
Great video what kind of caps did you use for the pipes I need to find where to get some for mine I used 2 inch emt pipe
Great job TJ. Welcome back bud and always have enjoyed all this time.
Thanks man!👍
I see that Auburn football in the background...War Eagle!!
WDE! 🦅
Good seeing you, nice video.👍👍👍

Thanks Tim!
Welcome back TJ!!
Thanks Mike!

Great tips! Thanks man 👊🏼
I pictured tightly wrapped saran wrap or something

Have you done any salt water fishing and if so do you recommend the salt water motor guide what are your thoughts?

Thanks man! I’ve got the motor in the ole Nissan, just got to do some fine tuning to her.
Thanks TJ. Glad I found this. I'll be making similar mods as well. Subscribed!

whats the length of the trailer
About 17’ 👍🏼
Loved your runners. I wanted to ask if you have considered a roller on the back of the trailer to make it easier to load it back from the ramp?
Where did you get the tackle box holder on side of your boat (hrail mounted)
I made it, I have a short video on it, check out my channel and subscribe 🤙🏼

I appreciate that bud! I’m excited to get back out on the water soon! 🤙🏼
Are you going to fish the big Bassmaster kayak tourney on Guntersville?
Nahh I ain’t that good. 😂
Great video, what brand and kind of spray glue is that?
3M 👍🏼
Man... that metal always bothered me. Glad you put the carpet on!

I believe mine was 11 1/2” on center. But measure your hull to be sure.
what kinda glue did you use?
7mm spray glue 👍🏼
What kind of wheels?

With is better 2x4 or pipe
Pipe/tubing
Did you say what kind of carpet? I might have missed that
Hey there brother. I asked before but you never got back to me. What kind of wheels did you put on your trailer? What size etc?
Check out my trailer build video I linked it in the video description above, I can’t remember at the moment what they were, but I definitely went over them and where I got them in the build video.
Could have maybe used a heat gun to activate the glue?
Hopefully not too late for you to see this. Where did you get the carpet? How much of it did you get?
I ordered it from bassboatseats.com 🤙🏼
Why did you use EMT instead of PVC. I don't know how to weld.
I went over that in the video.
Could grab some hair ties or rubber bands to hold it in place so you don't have to babysit
Should have zip tied every 6 inches until it stuck and remove them.
EMT tubings ain't cheap...
Zip ties
I got an email about winning a prize. Is that you?
