It was meant to be for you to do this project. I've been throwing the idea of doing EXACTLY this. I plan on making my bunks adjustable because I plan on using the same trailer for my Pelican Bass Raider 10E. So if I'm feeling lazy, load up the Raider. If the wife or kids wanna kayak with me, load them up. I'm even working on a design so I can load all three OR 4. All adjustable. I'm definitely going to be following this series
1 thing as a hint to you and other for cutting the round notch. Drill a pilot hole thru the 2 sides of the tubing. The use a 2" hole saw and cut half way flip and finish from other side. You end up with 2 stands with perfectly round for emt to sit in. Just recently found your channel started out watching your other trailer build. Great work
Surprised you didn't gusset those uprights considering their height the yaks weight on a road "environment" ? I suspect you're going to "Keel Save" those bunks?
Thanks, I finished the engine build and then deleted the all the smog stuff but now the fuel pumps out…. It’s pushed to the side until I get time to take the bed off again.. 😂
Thanks for all the great info and motivation! You've inspired me to build my first trailer for my Predator PDL. Curious how you liked the carpet covered EMT vs some type of PVC bunks? That's going to be my next step..(bunks, brackets, etc..) now that I"ve removed all the rust I could.
I'm looking to buy an old boat trailer for an 18ft hobie tandem island kayak. I wanted to ask why you used metal bunks instead of pvc like most use. Do you have suggestions for storing a mast ?
I get the appeal of being able to see the kayak in the rear view...but damn, seems a waste of a low-clearance trailer with the V shape in the frame. It could have been so perfect for shallow-water lunches.

Looks Good , should work really well, can't wait to see it on the boat ramp !

I have a very similar trailer like this. I plan on putting a PA 12 and pa17 on the same trailer. Where should place my spare tire and rod tube?
Glad to see you back to doing kayak stuff! However what's up with the mini truck?

Two $6,000 kayaks yet a $180 trailer box is too expensive? LOL!
