    I just bought a 2020 Ranger EPS for hunting. So far I love it. Great unit.

    Well done... very timely. Was at first disappointed to hear of the HP difference between the 1000 and XP1000 as I didn't know they were actually different. However, your videos have helped me decide that 1) the 1000 premium will be well suited for work around our place in MT and 2) have enough power to have fun on the backroads with the family. I think I will go with the 1000 for the price, which will enable me to purchase a top, windshield, and half doors while still being below the 1000 XP price. Thanks

    How about a comparison of Honda's 4x4 system and Polaris' AWD system. Put them through mud, rock and stump crawling where you would need to start off slow and need to spin the tires a bit to get going. I know Steve would come up with some awesome comparison tests! I'd be interested to see strengths and weaknesses of each.

    A little concerned with the air intake location. Looks to be similar to that in previous models (rzr570 etc...) Hope that they have improved the prefilter and ducting- previous models ended up with “dusted” engines with that design. It was a huge improvement when they moved it to the front.

    So one of the things that makes me hesitant about the Ranger is hearing about how it handles on snow and ice. Most of my use is hunting, and in Montana means on forest service roads that have been packed down into solid ice. Many of these have steep drop offs so I want something that is going to handle well in these conditions and not fish tail and slide around. I also would like something that coming down the steep roads I can just let the compression slow me down and not free wheel. I’ve heard that the Honda pioneer 1000 does this better. What are your thoughts?

    I’m looking to find LED replacement bulbs for my 2020 Ranger 1000 eps. Anything I come across is for the XP. I just want simple plug and play upgrades for the headlights, something that will work with no worries
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Be well

    Glad to hear Polaris re-designed the clutch. I have a 2019 Ranger 1000 XP Crew and the clutching is really poor. Makes the Mode switch (work/std/perf) almost useless. The engagement is abrupt with the trans banging and lurching the machine forward. Several after market companies have kits to fix this problem. I also hope Polaris fixed the shifting. Stopping on a slight incline or rough surface makes changing from one gear (ex. reverse to forward) to another almost impossible. I did NOT have the opportunity to test drive the unit before buying it. If I did I would have NEVER purchased the Ranger. Hope they get it right with the 2020.

    • @izom

      i can tell you not only polaris has this "problem"...:-/

    • @Robert_Mann
      @Robert_Mann 5 років тому

      I have a 2018 XP1000 ranger and everything you said is true! I find it easier to shift from forward to reverse by first popping it into neutral just before coming to a dead stop. Otherwise the tension in the trans binds up the shifter making it difficult to change gears. Of course, it doesnt like it if there is any kind of speed at all! I bought this "all-new" model due to the hype they made about it being so much better over the 2017 XP1000 when in reality, it has exactly the same transmission flaws! I even got the 2-year warranty since I pre-ordered mine but they wont touch it because they say "that is normal" haha.

      I don't think either has adjustable seats. The polaris will most likely ride better though as they usually have the best suspension and a larger cockpit. Since it's a cvt it will require more maintenance.

    • @jimriley2812
      @jimriley2812 4 роки тому +1

      Ga bulldogs fan actually HP is only 100. 118 is with the cams. I was looking at them at the time and planned on doing that tune and had it on the brain when I made that comment. The spring weight and ECU Tune only gives you 100ish HP but is EXTREMELY noticeable. Shortly after that I had issues with the stock clutch sticking so I upgraded that to the p90xt clutch that he has. Since putting that clutch in I’ve gotten to 78 but not much of anywhere to need that kind of speed around here. Decided, personally, not to do the 118hp tune. Think I’m just gonna wait and get a new machine as I DO use this machine for what it was intended for. Still, if I ever buy a new ranger in the future I seriously doubt I put a mile on it without putting the Gilomen tune on it first. Great tune and well worth the money. Same goes for that clutch upgrade. Good luck!!!

    • @JohnnyRebKy
      @JohnnyRebKy 4 роки тому

      The only thing the Ranger has on the Kawasaki is horsepower. Amazing how many get sucked in by numbers. The Kawasaki can work and play hard without needing a mobile tool shed to keep it repaired. The Kawasaki will smoke the ranger on the trails. You need a Polaris General to compete with the Kawasaki.

    • @Liftedpsd2010
      @Liftedpsd2010 4 роки тому

      JohnnyRebKy How about the fact that the Kawasaki still has the motor under the seats. Any water you go through steams into the cab and burns you. Also when you snorkel them the snorkels go in between the seats. Also when you are utilizing all the seats you have 2 inches of bed space. Best one I heard yet was the ranger crew was to long. Lol pulled up to his Kawasaki and my ranger crew was 6” longer lmao. Full size bed, full size seats in ranger and 6” longer. Count me in.
