  • Goooood evening all you lot, I've got a candy coloured treat for you today!
    I've been teasing people on social media but now all is revealed. Say hi to my new 2018 Inspired Hex :)
    I've wanted to try 26" again for the past couple of years but I felt the older Hex needed some upgrading. I put it to Inspired and justifiably they were a bit reluctant as the market is nearly all 24" these days.
    Fortunately Inspired are cool and agreed to design a whole new frame (probably to shut me up)! It's now sporting the sweet tapered headtube, forks, dropouts, tubing profiles and yolk (kinda) as the latest fourplay. They even agreed to get it painted in the best colour ever! Thanks Inspired!
    The 2018 Hex rides just like a 24" but is more capable of riding natural and pure trials stuff. if you're taller, from a MTB background and find 24" too small or just want a bike to put knobbly tyres on then this bike is perfect for you!
    I'mm make another video with some riding and explain what other stuff 26" is good at, but until then please do me a favour and buy up these frames/bikes to prove that there's still a demand!
    If you have any questions please spout them below, much thanks!

    Such a nice bike. =)
    You mention tyres.
    While evolving during my trials riding I hit a hard mental block. I had "huge" Tioga Factory DH rear, and a older Panaracer front.
    Still I couldn't trust my bike.
    I went and bought the cheapest, narrow no-name tyres.
    Skinny AF they were.
    Now I had to re-learn some stuff.
    But the strangest thing was I got over those mental blocks.
    I had to ride really smooth since the tyres were absolute trash.
    After a full year I switched back to the Tioga/Panaracer tyres.
    Now I rode great. Much more confident.
    My mates thought I've lost it when I rode the skinny tyres for such a long time.
    We all run into mental blocks.
    There is no manual for it.
    But don't be afraid of testing out strange parts.
    Ride on! =)

    I think it's amazing! I find it really encouraging because not only do I have a love for 26 inch wheels in general I have a 26 inch street trials and I'm rebuilding it to be almost exactly like the setup you have here! If/when I total my current frame this is exactly the kind of replacement I will be looking at getting. I hope other people agree and I'm really looking forward to seeing you shred this lovely beast of a bike!

    10:10 tip too keep the hands warm and dry, and still have good feel & control, use one size bigger glove, inner gloves with nitrile gloves between these two. also that's more comfy than the nitrile gloves directly on the skin cus that will eventually feel like jam or glue.

    Hi, Ali! I'm a novice (to say the least) rider. My sons and I have been watching a ton of your vlogs and Danny's videos for a while. Inspiring stuff. And I love your tutorials. I had a thought for a tutorial you could do someday. I watched Mike Boyd's videos about learning to do a wheelie and to manual. He mentioned how important it was to use his breaks while doing a wheelie. I was thinking it would be cool if you did a video doing a bunch of different stunts with breaking graphics to shows when you're using your front break, when you're using your back break, how much break you're using, etc. Not sure exactly how it would work, but it would be interesting to see how breaking plays into all of the stunts you do because that is one thing that really isn't apparent while watching your videos.

    It looks a lot redder than expected based on the photos that inspired were posting but it definitely does look good! I’m interested in the choice of gearing. Why have you gone for 22-18 rather than the 22-16 that was on the 24”? Is it just because it works out to being similar with the bigger wheels? Looking forward to seeing how it rides! Cheers.

    Hey Ali great video as usual. Do you think higher handlebars helps you bunny hop higher than if they are lower. I started on an echo czar and got used to the bars being lower so when I got an inspired I lowered the bars to match the feel I was used to but I seem to be maxed out at about 39 inches of height that I can hop onto and wondered if you think it's just technique or if bar height might be holding me back. As always thanks for the input. Also how much did your arcade end up weighing compared to the new hex?

  • @DominikTrialer

    I know the geometry is for trials but do you think the frame would be good for dirt jumps/street riding? Of course I would change the fork, stem, and gear ratio, but it seems like inspired frames are light an strong (not to mention the amazing color). Do you think I should just get a dirt jumper specific frame or could this work?

    • @TyBraek
      @TyBraek 6 років тому +1

      Ali Clarkson Awesome. I actually like the feel of my BMX geometry rather than my dirt jumper. I'll definitely check out the hex.

    • @matthewkuhl79
      @matthewkuhl79 6 років тому

      i use my 100mm dirt jumper now, but have been thinking of building a pure trials bike up for a while now. The dirt jumper geo is great for multi-purpose riding, but there is huge disadvantage for the more technical tricks -
      and the weight is not the biggest help, either.

    • @JjoshD
      @JjoshD 6 років тому

      Ty_Braek hey man I'm looking to get a DJ bike as well. Do you think the tapered headset is really necessary for a 26"? The hex has a straight steerer and ID imagine it's strong enough to take a good beating.
