    I have daily worn hats , not ball caps, for 50+ years. Many were not right sized. Any adhesive anything, including the hat foam tape, will end up making a nasty goo mess when the oils from your head wick through the sweatband. The foam stuff will pushbthe sweatband out when its off your head and the wrinkles can make it uncomfortable when worn. Use paper towel folded or cut strips fron cereal box cardboard. It will shim it out without wrinkles or gooey mess. Free too

    My grandpa used to adjust his hats with folded strips of newspaper.

    Western style (brim hats) are absolutely essential gear. I love mine and like you, I may have an issue with too many 🙂 There are definitely hats for different seasons and weather conditions and they are as stylish as they are functional. I have noticed that as I have gone towards more quality hats, it’s hard to go back, especially with the thicker straw hats. Nice collection you have and thanks for sharing friend!

    I would stay away from wool hats cause they are not water resistant at all and can't clean them I would stick with beaver pelt no less than 3x

      Exactly how do you come up with that? Especially the steson wool crushable that he showed?
      I ware one evey day. One of the tricks using a felt hat in fl summer. Is you wet the inside of the hat. It takes a good few minutes of soaking to get any water to stay on/ in the inside of the hat. It will help you head stay cooler.
      Now there's 1/4-1/2 a hat full of water.
      Not one time in the years of doing this . Has any of the water come through the hat. Not once and the hat i am using now has been in use for 4 years.
      I started using steson crushable back when they were under $30.
      I can't tell you how many times I have used the water trick. And not one ever bleed the water to the outside of tge hat.
      And there 100% wool

    Great video, i use the same approach of paying around $100 for each hat, for sure quality is not the same as more expensive ones, but that's my budget and as you i can replace a $60 hat a lot easier than a $300 one

    Do you have a suggestion for rain? I am looking for a hat for duck hunting to shed the rain. I think a straw hat would be good sun protection for upland game birds in the Colorado plains hunting.

    Hi.
    Can you tell me how you drive in such cowboy hats?
    I mean the brim of the hat rubs against the headrest of the seat and also against the tight seat belt. I wear Australian Akubra hats like the Riverina and the Coober Pedy and both of them rub against the headrest, so I have to take the hat off my head in the car.
    Maybe you do it differently?

    • @ChandlersLegacyFarm
      @ChandlersLegacyFarm  Місяць тому +1

      @RusVolvo Yes, I have to take the hat off also. If it was not for the thought of whiplash, I would take the headrest off of my truck, lol!!! Thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment!!!

    What do the Xs mean on straw hats?

    • @ChandlersLegacyFarm
      @ChandlersLegacyFarm  Місяць тому +1

      @RubenRodriguez-jk1fc It means that it was made with better quality straw and more tightly woven and just overall a better quality hat and more weather resistant because of the build quality. Thanks for watching and for the comment 👍
