I love the Ranger history and didn’t know we passed the 200th anniversary. And the hat shaping is fascinating. I really respect the young man’s attitude and he is so aware of his blessings. Thank you.

Cool personal story of mine regarding the Hat Store. I’m an HPD officer here in Houston. One rainy night 2 guys broke into their warehouse looking to steal copper. They rummaged through the hat boxes of several premium hats (100x, 200x and up) and they didnt take a single hat. Thought it was funny bc they had no idea they struck a gold mine lol

    Love that shape!
That’s a shape you would see plenty of working cowboys wear! Best compliment I could ever give a shaper is, “that’s a cowpuncher there”!

The Hat Store has cut and hand shaped western felt hats for many famous people including former President George H. W. Bush, Rick Perry, Dusty Hill and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Lyle Lovett, Merle Haggard, Clint Black, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alabama, Larry Gatlin, Dennis Weaver, Roy Rogers, Shaquille O’Neal, Craig Biggio and Lance Berkman of the Houston Astros, just to name a few.

Great video ,enjoyed hearing about some of the history behind the Texas Ranger Bicentennial Hat. One of my Great,Great Grandfathers was a Texas Ranger in the mid to late 1800's.

I've gotten my hats from there since 1987, in both straw and felt. I'm in the mood to buy another felt and this is the place to go.

yea that looks GREAT and I think will come BACK as a popular brim shape. Some of my 90's era customs have that basic organic packer front. Classic and balanced!!!!

As a retired Commonwealth law enforcement officer with the Australian Protective Service en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Protective_Service , we were issued two types of fur felt based upon the Australian Army fur felt en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slouch_hat yet turned down in Khaki and Navy colour. We also had a grey ‘Snowy River’ fur felt ( like seen in the movie man from snowy river issued for general use. The head Dress was issued dependant upon what region and unit you were stationed at. Officers at joint US Military Defense establishments mainly wore Khaki slouch due to the red dirt in those regions whilst city officers were issued the blue slouch or the grey snowy river.
We also had officer caps based on the Air Force uniform and baseball cap versions yet the colours were for specific regions even though we held the same office.
Great insight into the TEXAS RANGERS.

you mean what shape brim and crown? Personal preference. Look at a bunch of shapes and find one that suits you. You may have to go through a lot of different brims before you settle on one though.
