- Making the transition from desktop design software to mobile alternatives can be tricky at times. This is because of how fundamentally different the hardware is. Even simple functions, such as copy and pasting, can throw you for a loop when you're new to mobile design software -- particularly Procreate for the iPad. There's actually three different ways to copy and paste in Procreate. You can do so by layers, selections, or the entire canvas. In this tutorial we'll be going over each.
You just saved my life because I’ve spend all most 5 to 4hours working on my art and I always wondered and strangle to copy thing. So thank you 🙏
Procreate is so unintuitive compared to Autodesk Sketchbook 😡
@@Shvetsario now I wanna expose sketchbook for hiring bots to promote their app
Thank you for a consistent, easy to follow tutorial. Just what I needed.
Thank you. Best instruction so far. Other videos inserted how to do. Drop shadow in the middle of the explanation? Dur. You got right to the point and didn’t distract!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Short, to the point and not a lot of jibber-jabber... PERFECT tutorial!!!!
Thank you for this. Seriously, I don't understand why easy things like this aren't easily accessible, does the procreate company do this on purpose? Cause it's a pain something to find how to do the easiest things and the easiest things are harder than they should be on the program it self. I love it but you think since this is the direct competitor to PS they would have done everything in their power to make this easier to just pick up and go
What about if i want to copy and paste on a particular layer without it automatically creating new layer when pasted
Thank you .. Can i Copy and paste on the same layer ??? Or i cant ???? 😐
Just go to layers tap merge down.
It will merge into whatever layer is below it
It's madness to do this for animation 😭
@jb9189 THANKS I've been looking for a way because it so annoying to find EXACTLY what I copied and pasted
Thank you so much! Also for copying a layer: go to "layers", slightly swipe the layer to the left and "Duplicate".
That was exactly what I was looking for. Tried 3 other videos first that didn’t give me the solution. Thank you so much 🙏
way too fast at the end, grab the image with what selection tool?
Thank you, I’m looking to do something similar to copying the doughnut but it just pastes back in the same spot and won’t move. What am I missing?
I have a question though . How do you delete the clipboard thing when you go to the “New canvas” or the plus icon?
Quick and easy to follow thank you! Perfect.
Thanks for the easy tutorial and for not taking 15 minutes to show it.
I'm so confused it's making it where I can only draw in that selected section now?
How do I cut, let's say, a bird from layer one and paste it to another existing layer? Is that possible without opening a "new canvas".
Hello. With iPhone new copy an object from a photo, can I paste these cut outs from photos to procreate?
How do you copy one layer from Canvas A & paste it to Canvas B?
Thank you so much! Great clear tutorial.
I clicked my gallery and there are no copy and paste option once my object is selected. Is there a setting I need to turn on?
Can't i paste it in the same layer??? :((
How do you copy/paste something within the same layer?
I don't think there is a way. Each object has its own layer. You could paste it as a new layer and then merge it with the other layer you'd like to add it to.
Thanks! This helped me so much! (And thanks for using captions. We Deaf people need it!)
everytime i paste im loosing quality, this didnt happen a few days ago. I dont know how to fix it. im copying something from one artwork to another
How do you duplicate multiple objects in the same layer? Ie create 50 copies of the donut without creating 50 extra layers.
Yay now I don’t have to draw the other super detailed eye 😮😊😊😊
But how did you get the dog in the first place
thanks a lot, very helping me
Thank you so much. Your instructions are very clear. I will give it a go fingers Xd !
This was so helpful thank you!!
Thank you! I appreciate it! Now I can draw my albatross with air to ground missiles under his wings
I Wish I could do that in real life😂(2:09-2:11)
Thanks!!!! This really helped alot!
YOU SAVED MY LIFE TOO! Except you neglected to mention that, in # 3, the pasted selection is in its own layer, and it can only be put on the same layer as the rest of the image by merging the layers.
I guess.
You're the expert. I really don't know.
But you might want to think about the fact that "paste" doesn't mean "paste" in any conventional sense. And then, you might want to explain to people what "copy and paste" means in this context.
Or not.
Thank you!
Perfect I love it 👍
Thank you so much it help!
Thanks a lot!
Why when you paste it paste it on a new layer it does not paste on the page you are pasting it on it is stupid. I just want to simply paste it on the page I’m pasting it on in procreate
Same. I can’t get it to paste on the one I am working with. Just keeps creating a new layer. Lame
Thx. Very helpful🤝
THANK YOU !!
Helpful? YES.
Thank you so much ,
Thank you
Is it just me or does he sound like Chandler from F.R.I.E.N.D.S ?
Then try and get rid of that Clipboard “Canvas” in the Gallery selection without having to uninstall … ugh!
THANK YOU
thanks
Very helpful
