I like the "things for Specialized to improve on" at the end. Such as Spec/price build ratio being low. Give us more for our money to make it a good value like other companies do Specialized!.
This bike (Stumpjumper Comp in Gloss White / Black) is now 3400 Euro in Switzerland right now. I will definitely buy it for that price! Looks like Specialized wants to make space for the 2023 Bikes ;) :)
@@MTBs I did go with the Gloss White Mountains / Black. The colour is beautiful in person and nothing like on websites where it always looks yellowish-white. :)
A matter of budget... What was on the bike was fine for the most part even if the Fox 34 can be a little bit flexy at times. At the same time it is not an enduro bike so I wouldn't want to go too big on a short travel trail bike. A 36 would be nice though. Or a Pike or Yari/Lyric if you are into Rockshox. In the rear you are a bit limited I guess to the Fox DPS because of the factory tuning.
@@MTBs thank you for the info! I appreciate it! I’ve been a trail runner for 15 years and I want to start mountain biking. I’m wanting to just jump In and build a bike (assuming I can even get ahold of all the parts). knowing the trail systems I run I know I’ll need an all arounder kind of bike. The stumpjumper frame S3 is what I want to go with at my 5’7” height. I’m just up in the air still as far as suspension and components.
@@williamhsteele Mountain biking is great fun! Ok, so you are buying a frame then? I think the frame actually comes with a shock. At least the Stumpjumper Evo frame comes with a shock.
Thank you! Tough call, I felt the S4 was spot on for me with 185 cm and that is my preferred size. But I would probably fit a S5 too. I have ridden the Enduro in size S5 and even if that is a HUGE bike I was still ok with it. It depends if you want a nimble or a stable bike.
The review did not cover the bikes climbing ability, I think reviews should focus more on this, especially when the bike is a XC or trail bike Otherwise good review
Great review, first I've seen reviewing the comp, the rest are either expert or s-works which are a bit out of my price range. Really fancying this bike but people saying about the pedal bob is putting me off a bit (most of what I ride is towards the XC side of the trail spectrum so would like it to pedal well) - you didn't experience any of that?
I too heard other reviewers say that they experienced some pedal bob, but I don't really agree with them. I used around 20-25% sag when I tested the bike, so it was a bit stiff in the rear and I didn't feel much pedal bob at all to be honest. I would be happy to ride this bike anywhere, it is so versatile. But we are all sensitive to different things, so my advice is for you to find a demo bike and test for yourself. It is too much money to spend without a test ride.
I will point out that pedal bob happens when the rear shock is open, which I use more for downhill so less of an issue. With the rear in middle setting the pedal bob is very minimal.

Right! Such a pity when the frames are sooo nice!
Great video! Love your in depth go through of the features and components! 👍
Yep, nerding away there. Thanks!
Thanks for the overview 👍
Great review. Cool onscreen graphics too.
Cheers mate!! 😃
Now regular stumpjumper comes with Mullet link! Also there is version with 36 fox 150mm fork now!
Didn't know that. Thank you for the info! 👍
Me pueden ayudar , esa bicicleta es xc o enduro ??
Este está entre xc y enduro. Es "trail" pero la Stumpjumper Evo es más una enduro.
Chau!

The bike boom is over and there are now some pretty sweet deals on Specialized bikes in general even here in Sweden. Great bike!
@@MTBs yea, I did just buy it Yesterday. It takes 4-5 weeks since the s4 was sold out until i get mine in that size 🫠🙂
Yay! What colour did you get?

:)
Nice choice, sir! 🔥
EVO does come in alloy now
Hi! Yes it does. Couldn't say that in the video at the time of the recording - embargo. But I have entered it in the description.
What would be your choice for a fork and rear shock?

@@MTBs yeah I’d like to build one from the frame out. And you’re right…they do come with the rear shock. I was mistaken. Thank you!
Cool vid! I'm 6'2" so do you think a S4 or S5 would be good for me?
Thank you!

Thx for the feedback (and you are right, should have covered its climbing ability).

Strange. I had the shock fully open and experienced only very little pedal bob.
@@MTBs yeah even open I would agree there is very little pedal bob; all depends on what you are comparing it to.
