Hi Charles, very interesting comparison! Could you please share your SJ Evo setup? Settings of all flip chips in the frame, suspension, wheels, etc.... Maybe a little bike check? Thanks!
My thoughts after quite a bit of riding on enduro is stumpyevo will be faster on tight tracks with tight steep dropping corners and enduro will be faster on open flat out and flowing tracks. I think you will be choosing bike to ride depending on what the tracks are like each round
you are absolutely flying on the stumpy, I have the same bike, stumpjumper evo, no where near as fast as you, and don't mind one bit since I'm still recovering from a shattered clavicle.. stay safe
You should try the Stumpy with the Cascade link and a coil shock! Also up the front travel to 170mm and I think you'll keep the same feel but way less bumpy. I had a Stumpy Evo set up this way(with headseat in neutral pos and short chainstay )and was by far the most traction and awesome cornering feeling bike I've owned!
@@miles_bell when putting coils on bikes with that or similar suspension layouts you have to check with the manufacturers if the coil is compatible with that layout. This is due to the fsr layout on the stumpy putting high amounts of stress on the shock and as coils have a smaller stanchion diameter some of them cannot handle that stress. Fox coils for example do not work but rockshox do. Just check with the manufacturer and inform yourself before doing similar modifications
@@MarioXcore1 He literally is testing which bike he is going to race on for the world cup son, so he could have the best of both worlds. Stumpy Evo with the mentioned setting is still very playful too.
Love the vid! If you do end up going with the stumpy, feel free to pass the Enduro on to me and I'll do my own head-to-head testing and then let you know how it compares
Interesting, wonder what throwing the S3 back into the mix would look like with these conditions compared with the drier conditions on the S3 vs. S4 video?
Not sure about weight difference actually, I’ll have to weigh them and see. Didn’t notice too much about the acceleration mostly the ability to get around tight stuff without braking as much
The EVO was faster on this track simply bc of that relatively flat wooded section. I could see it was much more difficult to bend the Enduro through the tight corners and switchbacks. Maybe in dry conditions it could keep up. Great job. Cheers.
Had a fella who was ridding for Specialized like you and he compared Demo vs Enduro vs Stumpjumper but in a very natural and steep trails. He found the Demo was faster overall bike in that terrain, followed by the Enduro and last the Stumpy. So it depends on the terrain you like to ride,I think for chunky stuff, natural terrain in Europe I would take the Enduro all day long. But for some mellow terrain the Stumpy would be faster. ¿are both bikes running the same tires?
Great video. Would love to see a similar thing done with the brand new Stumpy.
Subaru with WOOD LOG as trunk holder is GOLD
Can't beat kiwi style

Absolutely! Full bike check coming soon. Should be online in a week!

Thanks bro! Loving the stumpy, heal up quick.
super interesting comparison! Can you visit differences , pro vs cons, setups of both bikes in the next video? Cheers mate
What an epic view and the bush greenery was so good. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed!

He literally has an enduro dude, the point is to keep it “playful”
Hmm, I have a stumpy and i put a coil on for racing Northstar and i broke the coil haha

cool location for head to head. SUBSCRIBED!
Awesome, thank you!
Doing the mahi! Be interested to see another day testing on something more burly/faster? Se how they measure up....
Exactly what we are talking about doing next!
some fresh rigs, man was on gas
Cheers Tom!

Stumpy EVO conquers all comers. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
Haha it’s the best
Any chance you could drop the specs for what you dialed-in on the Enduro Comp? just curious is all, thanks for the content!
Yes I can, I’ll get TP to track down the suspension setup for the enduro
I really love my enduro & KSL. Have a levo, but fell much more confident on the enduro platform.
The Enduro platform is epic, have to agree with you on that one!
I don’t know which one to buy. Which one climbs better and jumps better ?
The Stumpy Evo is more playful and can throw it aroudn better. The Enduro is more stable on fast rough stuff. Both climb pretty well!
Reid & Twiname in Sockburn should be able to sort you out with replacement gas stays for the station wagon 👍
That's a good shout! I'll let TP know
what track is that? Dixons? Ahh cheesy DH... haven't been up there for a bit
Yep Cheeseman DH!
Wow, thats instresting! Your stamp is also mullet?
Both bikes are full 29ers!
Fastest bike will always be the one you're most comfortable/confident with 😉
True that!
Bigger isn't always better .
Was The Stumpy easier to accerate out of all the switch backs ?
Is there much difference in weight between the bikes ?
Not sure about weight difference actually, I’ll have to weigh them and see. Didn’t notice too much about the acceleration mostly the ability to get around tight stuff without braking as much
Hi Charles, ¿what size are the Enduro and the stumpy evo? can you pease tell?
Both bikes are S4 size
Amazing video as always! Cheers!🔥🤙🏻
1 question: what's the travel? Good luck picking next EWS bike!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed, the SJ Evo is a 150mm travel :)
I really enjoy these testing videos. Could you export them in 4k or are you uploading on the road and have data constraints?
New laptop is in the pipeline, current one can’t process the 4K without crashing!
What bike did you run for Maydena and derby. Did you change bikes?
Yep sure did! Enduro S4 for Tasmania and now SJ Evo S4 for Europe
great content
@@harrie205 thanks!
how do i know if i should ride the stumpy instead of the enduro?
It's a hard one, both are sick bikes. What type of trails do you ride the most?
Where are these trails? Somewhere in Canterbury? Ah edit. You said Mt Cheesman at the end. Nice.
Mt Cheeseman Ski Area! Such a good spot. The entire Craigieburn, Porters & Castle Hill area is amazing riding
I mean the enduro is a monster truck, it’s designed for more open and rough trails
Yep exactly what I thought, depends so much on the trail. TP and I are keen to do some testing on a more rough DH style track this off-season
Maybe try camera mounted on chest POV
Yep! I'll try some chest in the future
Mate 5sec faster on a 3min lap that’s some pace!!
I know, I was also surprised !
Bikes definitely worth more than the old Subaru lol.
Love a trusty suby

¿are both bikes running the same tires?
That's very interesting! Yes both bikes exact same wheels and tyres. We are running the DH Cannibal from Specialized
