If memory serves me correctly, Jared Hoff swapped out the heavy tires and wheels for far less than 2k and saved lots of weight. Mind you he did many other upgrades too. But still.
Great videos!! Stumpy alloy comp is only 2700 now which is cheaper than t9. A much more respected name albeit with lower sram nx components. Id buy t9 if the price was a bit better. Also polygon website has no trace of t9!!! What happened? Also is there an electric version of t9?? Thank you for the great service.
4 lbs. is a huge difference. Do you want to buy a great frame to upgrade over time or do you want a lesser, heavier frame and a bike w great components outta the box? Both are great bikes.
The only thing I feel guilty about is that I like to still support my local bike shops . We still need them and when they close it hurts us all . That being said I can see myself spending a few hundred extra bucks to buy local but a difference of 2k is hard to justify. The T9 just seems like too hard a deal to beat .
Trek and Specialized have bought out a few local bike shops in my city and sell their own respective products. But, I have bought a bike online and use the services of a local shop (not Trek/Specialized), which sell the brand of bike I own. They have my bike TU-UNED! Very happy with their service.
Wouldn't it have been better to compare the Stumpjumper alloy rather than carbon?
the carbon model is what was available to us for comparison.
its like comparing apples to oranges...
I saw your commercial on a YT video. I watched the whole thing. I had to track you down to give you a Well Done complement. 👍 Be Safe.
Well thank you for the kind words! Cheers!
I got to say Polygon is growing on me, they definitely stepping up their game and adding some nice colors to their lineup.
We are glad you feel that way! They’re great bikes!

That is true!

Glad you enjoy the video! The T9 is still on the website & you're right the T9 components are far superior to that entry level Specialized Stumpy.

Both are indeed great bikes! Ultimately up to the rider to decide.
love this. i request the canondale habit 3 purple haze. debating whether to get that or the t9.
We will see what we can do! We are trying to do more side by side comparisons in the upcoming months.
How about the T7 vs. the Fezzari Abajo Peak? That would be a good face off.
That would, indeed! We will keep it in mind.
I think wheels and tires would go a long way towards saving weight. A carbon bar and cranks (Raceface Next R are on closeout) would be good too
All great components to trim weight for sure!
Try an oval chainring on your T9. I’m interested in your opinion on it. Also carbon bars.
Oval chainrings are an interesting piece of kit!
@@bikesonline please do a video on the oval chainring

Very true! The T9 does pack a lot of value for the money!

I have the santa cruz carbon
nice!
I'm sorry but that specialized frame is ugly.
Yes, looks are more important than anything else.
Their asymmetrical design is definitely different, but it serves a purpose. Other brands have done similar things like Orbea.
