Laotie B08 MTB bike light REVIEW vs Gaciron Raptor 3000
Too good to be true? A 30€ monster bike light from Banggood that actually produces some light? I want to see if this unusual looking MTB light is something that can actually work.

      Interesting question. TQ HPR 50, Brose's new Drive3 Peak & ZF Centrix. Isn't DJI Avinox 50V? I don't think the new Bosch CX Performance or the Fazua Ride 60 are more than 36V.

So next question: why thoes brands don't talk almost nothing about their 48v systems that they have already in the market. Checking several sites, media lunch, technical info, etc, no one mention about this feature which I think is something good and better than the 36v systems.

Har aldrig testat någon Magicshine så jag har svårt att uttala mig om dessa. You're on your own... ;) PS.

    Only used the easyloop at greenhill bikepark, and it is easy to get along with. Drawbacks are, as you pointed out, on steeper inclines the front wheel will lift and you need to get your weight over the front. This position is more tiresome then t-bar. Tilting the saddle forward a bit wil help in this regard. Another drawback is the cord snapping. Saw a lot of snapped ones at greenhill and the lift lines which already were crazy long only got longer. Maybe due to inadequate maintenance, I don’t know. Also if you run a phone or other devices on the stem like I do, better remove it and sometimes the mount on the stem as well.

    Great video! Do you think it is that much cheaper, given that you still have to build the lift infrastructure?

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs Місяць тому

      Maybe I should have been clearer in the video. If there already is a T-bar lift in a bike park, the alternative to bring the masses (beginners, families e t c) is to build a chair lift which is safer to use. In this scenario it's cheaper to simply just replace the T-bars with easyloops in the summertime.

    • @eve-llblyat2576
      @eve-llblyat2576 Місяць тому

      I have never heard of a lift that was built for a bike park somewhere in the world. Its always resorts or old fedunct skislopes. So the video totally missed the point. So you have T-bars already in place. One EasyLOOP hool coast around 500€ (source, random employer at the bikepark). To buy this system is a huge investment. Small lift with 50-100 hooks is around is 25.000 to 50.000€. There is no problem with T-bars. EasyLOOP is just mor confortable. So yes people prefer it. So Some bikeparks, just convert only every third or fifth T-bar. So, children who struggle with the T-Bar can wait for a easyLOOP hook. In reality; I never saw anybody struggeling with a T-Bar. A plate lift or just a rope lift is something much harder. Still easyLOOP is much more enjoyable. Its easy to copy but they have a strong patent. Hope they lower the cost. so every bikepark upgrades.

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs Місяць тому

      @@eve-llblyat2576 Thanks for your insights! I think I wasn't too clear in the intro. If there already is a T-bar lift in place, the alternative is to replace it or complement it with a chair lift to attract the masses (like families). To build a chair lift is very, if not extremely expensive. In this particular bike park where this video was filmed, there were communicated plans to build a chair lift, not only for the summertime though. This never happened and they did the next best thing and installed easyloops instead. Still some T-bars left on the wire, so they're not all easyloops. There is another bike park / ski resort nearby which has a good chair lift and they have succeeded extremely well in making the bike park profitable. The easy to use chair lift is one of the reasons. I've seen people struggle with T-bars and damaging their bikes. Depends on how difficult the terrain is where the lift is situated.

    • @eve-llblyat2576
      @eve-llblyat2576 Місяць тому

      @@MTBs diagree again. greenhill bikepark outperforms the two bikeparks in 30 min range, that have 4 chairlifts and one gondola, in popularity. People go to ride the shittiest lifts just to ride the better trails. So, liftupgrade should come after trailupgrade. How us ut possible to damage your bike with a t-bar. The dropperpost wont get scraches. And the dropperpost is not that expensive compared to all the other wear and tear. A MTB is a machine built to be punished, to withstand the hardest beating. You dont pay 6k for an enduro to look shiny. And the Terrain on every skilift is the same. smooth trail up the mountain. why would simeone built bumbs or ramps into the path of the lift.

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs Місяць тому

      @eve-llblyat2576 Haha, I enjoy a good debate! :) So Greenhill might do very well compared to the place with better lifts in your area. In my area it's the other way around. But doesn't Greenhill use easyloops btw?? I know people who have had the droppers scratched from t-bars. That's why I mentioned it in the video. There is at least on bikepark close to where I live which has a notoriously bad t-bar lift where almost everyone falls the first time. So that's definitely not a smooth trail up. I get it that we all have different experiences. I just thought that the easyloop is a good solution that reduces the risk for scratches and injuries even if many experienced riders have zero issues with t-bars.

    Thanks for the review, I've just got the PRO but without the Beacon.....and its out of stock online so I can't get it anyway but I need to know if I really need it. Is the tracking good enough for MTB without beacon in the open or the woods if not too many trees? Any thoughts, have you tried to compare? Just subcribed now I've come across your channel, thanks.

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs Місяць тому

      I tried tracking in the open both with and without the beacon. It works well without. In the woods it sometimes lost me and then the beacon beeps, but the drone will still aim for the beacon. When it finds my silhouette again, the tracking goes back to normal. So that's the big benefit I guess. The drone will find you again if the tracking fails. BUT, a big warning if you're riding in the woods. I crashed my drone so hard that the gimbal broke. Managed to fix it at home, but I would be very careful using it when the trees are close to the trail. Use it in the open, in jumplines e t c for instance. The drone cuts corners, and that's when accidents can happen. Test to fly without the beacon first. If it works, it works!

    • @MTBs

      I haven't tested that actually. But there are some settings in each mode (follow, dolly, side track) where you set the distance and altitude before you start the flight. That can be done either with the app or with the buttons on the drone without the need for the app, which is great.

    I was able to lick up a used on fb, like dang there new plus it had some nice upgrades, hope rotors, bar stem, grips, pedal strike crank covers. Garmin mount and more. So far this bike has surpassed my expectations. At 53 uts way more capable than I am and I really fancy the aesthetic look. One of the most impressive things for me at 225 lbs is the super beefy reinforced head tube. Not many know of it or talk about it but if you get a chance you'll see the design. This helped me decide on a hardtail. Way to go Trek!

    Hi there. I know this is an old video.. But was looking around and stumbled on this one. I've noticed you said about these following ones was not tested by you. Bu...what about the Entry level ones.. Which one is the best to start with and is reliable? Recon, Reba or Judy? Something I can do XC without worries. Thanks in advance

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs 2 місяці тому

      Yes, that was an old video all right! ;) The Reba is a bit more modern than the Recon and (don't quote me on this) I think it's the same chassis as the more expensive SID but with cheaper internals. So for XC riding, I would take a closer look at the Reba.

    Is it better to have a thinner wheel like 1.9 inches than 2.35 inches?

    • @MTBs

      In general you will have a higher tyre pressure with a thinner tyre which is good. But it will not work very well in deeper snow.

    I've been thinking about getting a levo carbon for the frame. I've seen new 2023 models for 4000.00 us dollars. I've got the alloy comp. I was going to swap components. I've got cascade link, where it's bumped up to 160mm with a vivid ultimate and 170mm zeb ultimate. I thought being a couple pounds lighter would help with getting more playful on jumps. You didn't notice that between the 2 bikes?

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs 2 місяці тому

      Honestly I didn't notice a huge difference between the comp carbon and the comp alloy in terms of handling. There are more similarities than differences. Nuances.

    I have this bike it's awesome but the spokes are sh1t, I had to replace the wheels on it with Sapim Strong spokes because my front spokes failed within weeks. It's the weakest part of the bike. Also you are incorrect the front rotor is 180mm and rear is 203.

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for your input. You would think DT swiss spokes in general are sufficient, but apparently not then. Interesting info about the rotors. The larger rotor is always at the front on MTBs. Maybe the fork can't take more than 180.

    • @barbartheelephant4389
      @barbartheelephant4389 2 місяці тому

      @MTBs the fork can indeed take 203 but you need the shimano spacer I use 203 on both

    • @MTBs
      @MTBs 2 місяці тому

      Yes, you can always use adapters but I meant that the fork may be a bit too flexy for a bigger rotor since it's only 34 mm. Just my guess, I don't really know. Maybe it's perfectly fine.

    • @barbartheelephant4389
      @barbartheelephant4389 2 місяці тому

      @@MTBs actually the fork can take it, the specs on the Suntour website confirm it's ok with the adapter.

    Very nice test. One important feature for me is that I already own 3 FENIX flashlights that use 18650 / 3400mAh batteries. Going to the BC26R will make me buy extra 21700 / 5000mAh battries (2 of them) adding to the final cost. Therefore I think I will stick to the BC21R V3 (which is also cheaper)
