Iron madien is a British gift to American metal early 80's
This is 1982. Iron Maiden is a rabbithole of a discography to get into- enjoy!
It is december 1981.
@@eddie-qz5fv Feb. '82 it released as a single. The album followed in March.
Yes I know. But they filmed this earlier.@@Sadler2010
I'm so glad I was right. I'm only 25 but I was right. 1982 was run to the hills and Powerslave was 86 I think? Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@Gamma2224 "powerslave" was 1984. it was "somewhere in time" in 1986.
Dude. You’re British. You haven’t heard Iron Maiden?! They’re a goddamn national treasure.
lol. Giving you a hard time. Glad you got here. Enjoy the rabbit hole.
Great track.
Iron Maiden was probably the most significant metal band in joining the dots between Sabbath and Judas Priest in the 70s, and Metallica etc in the 80s.
yup yup
Up the Irons 🤘
Preach it!
Try Queensryche and Mother Love Bone. Soundgarden. I fortunately or not grew up in Seattle as a metalhead. The grunge craze was rampant. I think I just didn't like going to wannabe clubs. I actually preferred to go to new wave clubs. Although I engaged in a mosh pit with Suicidal Tendencies.
Hallowed be thy Name!!! Nothing more to say...!
One of the best metal bands ever,Bruce is a great singer,so many great songs, hallowed be thy name, the trooper, rime of the ancient mariner, they are still touring today, true legends.
This band is my life force. There's a hundred maiden songs that could blow your mind. Thier first 7 albums are masterpieces.
What an iconic rock band to react to and they're great teachers too in their songs
Perfect song to start iron Maiden with
Iron Maiden is an entire rabbit hole as well. They are one of the greatest ever!
“Number of the Beast”, “Aces High”, “The Trooper”, “Hallowed Be Thy Name” just to start the journey. You will become a fan. There is no way you can’t.
Love that u threw Aces High in there! Not enough people talk about that song.
@@tbone2071 Love that song. It’s the best way to start off their live shows. I took this video live in Vegas!
ua-cam.com/video/13pgnLIrzIk/v-deo.htmlsi=-X9uz7UhsBVZoxAr
This whole album The Number of the Beast, is gold from start to finish! Always popular at work, even with the non-metalheads! 💯
1982. You want to hear what Bruce, singer, n the duel guitars can do? React to 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' live. Killer trac. Thanks
about time you get to Maiden. I can give a laundry list of song to react to, Hallowed Be Thy name, The Trooper, Rime of the Ancient Mainer, Number of the Beast, The Prisoner, Aces High, etc............
For a newer song, Empire of the Clouds.
New wave British heavy metal was literally a global phenomenon. I've seen Sabbath, Judas Priest, and I've seen Iron Maiden 6 times.
……Up The Irons ⚒
Iron Maiden was formed in 1975 from Leyton, East London….
Steve Harris (bassist) founder & primary song writer.
This is from their 3rd album, The Number of the Beast, which was the first one with Bruce Dickenson on vocals. He's widely considered one of the best rock vocalists and bass player Steve Harris is definitely considered one of the best bassists. I personally consider this album one of the greatest in hard rock/heavy metal history. Other great songs from this are "22 Acacia Avenue", "The Number of the Beast", and "Hallowed Be Thy Name".
Run to the Hills and Aces High are my all-time favourites. I was 11 when this came out. One of my first records!!
Somewhere in Time was the first music cassette I ever got for Christmas.:)
The clansman in rock in rio, best song of iron maiden
live rock in rio 2001. insane level of energy before a giant crowd
I've been a Metalhead since '98. This genre of music is life saving, much like Punk. The reason being, for me at least, is it gives me a community. A family of my choosing. Lots of young adults have issues with society, and even their family life can be hard on them. This music gives them an outlet for all that pent up rage, anger, frustration and feelings of loneliness. Lynyrd Skynyrd is Southern Rock, but they're revered by Metalheads, that's why it has so many views. Seeing people first discovering this music brings us so much joy. People from outside our scene are paying attention to, and enjoying, the music of our lives. It's one of the best feelings in the world. When I go to a show, I don't see a bunch of scary individuals. I see brothers and sisters in metal, all there for the same reason: to enjoy the music, camaraderie, meet new/say hi friends and get that sense of family. So, that being said, welcome to the Metal community. It's a great place, even if some of us look and act scary at times. In reality, you'll won't find a bigger bunch of softies. Sure, we like screamy music, but we're also very into helping others and dealing with issues that affect us all, like mental health. There's a lot of that in the scene as well. Never be afraid to cry! And, if you need a hug, that huge burley guy in the corner gives the best bear hugs around.
Very very true
one of the ALL TIME GOAT UK metal bands...they're freeking awesome. Highly educated dudes...all their big song deal with historical events and things like that... "The Trooper" "Number of the Beast" "2 Minutes to Midnight"...you were damn close '82...these guys really set the standard back in the day!!! FUN!!! Great react!
You just do “hallowed by the name”. The live version from the early 80s!!!!! Bruce has a legendary voice!
Beast Over Hammersmith 82'
Yes!!! Thank you for doing Iron Maiden.
You just watched the very tip of the best band live. Hallowed be thy name is a good one to react to. 🤘🤘
Maiden was my first ever concert, i saw them in june this year, 3rd favorite band of all time 🤘
Seen Maiden do this live in the 70's with my pals and 40 years later I saw them with my two boys. Seen them loads inbetween too but the 1978 and 2019 concerts were special.
You saw them do this song in the 70's before it came out in 1982?
So you saw them before the firts album must have been a small crowd of people , nice
Seen them loads of times just got my dates mixed up. I didn't Google it because I didn't think I needed too. Take it easy people just a senior moment. The fact remains that I saw Maiden do this track and 40 years 'or so' later I saw them with my boys. Very emotional experience for me. Why didn't any of you pick up on that part. No, because that's not what people do nowadays is it. Peace all.
@@anthalas1 Read my reply but, you do know bands gig before albums too. It was May 1980 I first saw them, 5 months past the 70's. I wasn't that far out. I know that's still before this track but point remains.
@@thekeenmoron1900 That why i finish by saying nice , and yes i know that band playing gig before there firts album, and again that why i said nice , cuz you were lucky :)
Bruce Dickenson is a treat to hear. he is a true metal voice.
1982 ^^ . Good start. May be the most popular one. You definitely should watch life videos of Iron Maiden. They have tons of great songs. What a rabbit hole^^.
Next maybe "Hallowed Be Thy Name"
This was the first song I ever heard by Maiden,,,,MTV 1986
React to The Trooper it's one of their best songs imo
Where to begin... Most importantly, Steve Harris is the Bassist and founding member... and also the primary writer. The band were formed in 1975, London, England. They have remained intact since 1981 When Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di'anno as lead singer, joining Harris, and Clive Burr on drums and also Adrian Smith and Dave Murray on Guitar, there where a few changes beforehand but this is the lineup that was the beginning of what would become arguably the greatest metal band of all time.
Nicko McBrain replaced Clive Burr on drums in 1982, and Janick Gers joining the band in 1990 after Adrian Smith left for a bit due to indifference.. also Janick being in Bruce's solo band the year before. Enjoy your journey with the guys... definitely in my top 3 bands of all time. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a song you need to hear.
Thank you England for iron maiden! love this song
Big rabbit hole tons of great songs Rime of the ancient mariner 2 minutes 2 midnight Flight of icarus the trooper Hallowed be thy name
A fun Iron Maiden video to watch is their live appearance on German tv "playing" Wasted Years. I put "playing" in quotes because the station insisted they lip synced to their studio version, so they all just kinda fucked around on stage, switching instruments and all taking turns "singing"...it's gloriously hilarious. 😂😂😂
I actually met everyone in Iron Maiden around 2003 - my dad sold guitars to the whole band so we got backstage passes when I was like 13. They're all so pleasant and genuine...a memory I will never forget!
Absolute must....Hallowed be thy name.
About damn time! As a Brit, British metal is something you need to be all over.
Up The Irons!!
Glad you like Iron Maiden 😊
Aces High will blow you mind
Wow. Came to check back on you. Surprised to see commenters have finally recommended Iron Maiden..no surprised..just feel like finally

Iron Maiden live is a must see!!!!!!! You must watch them live!!!!!😊
Freakin' Steve Harris and that bass of his. He just tears the poor thing up.
Definitely the embodiment of Metal Gods…..
I went to this tour in 1982. Oakland, Ca. "Up The Irons 4 Life!"
Great band. Ive seen the 7 imes. First time was on "Piece of Mind" tour in 83'. The last time was in 17'. now I'm going to see them in North California in 24' at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento. If you get a chance, you need to see them live.
Luck 2 times for me UP THE IRONS forever since they started
Number of the beast!!
story tellers. iron maiden are the best 'straight metal ' band ever so many great songs to choose from this song is one of their 'ok' songs they have a lot better.

Bruce Dickenson, the singer, is also a pilot and flies the band around in their own private 747.
This is what I was into when I was about 13-14 years old. I saw them supporting "Piece of Mind" @ 82'. So freaking good. I'm glad because they never came back to Memphis. Long story.
Totally lit and was back in the day too back in 1982!
Give these Iron Maiden songs a listen;
Do the live versions 🤘
1, The Trooper
2, The Rhyme of the ancient mariner
3, Hallowed be thy name
4, Fear of the dark
5, Dance of death
Up the IRONS
saw them 9 time firts time was in 1984 for Powerslave tour
YOU SHOULD REACT TO IRON MAIDEN FEAR OF THE DARK LIVE IN ARGENTINA.. THE AUDIENCE IS INCREDIBLE SO MUCH SO THAT LIL WAYNE SAMPLE THE AUDIENCE ON HIS SONG THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE
This, too, was my first Maiden song. But it was 40 years ago :)
Hallowed be thy name live early 80s best li ever performed ever
Iron Maiden songs are known to be history lessons. Go down the rabbit hole buddy. You won’t regret it!
Maiden got me into metal with number of the beast
Capt. Bruce Dickenson is an incredible singer as well as the pilot on the bands jumbo jet! Yes, he's a commercial pilot, professional fencer and something else that one would never think of when you mention a metal singer. He's a fucking legend! Axil can't even tie Bruce's shoes, bro. Please don't even mention the 2 of them in the same video. Thanks - I owe you one!😁
Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Aces High, Powerslave, Die With Your Boots On and 2 Minutes To Midnight should keep ya busy. Welcome to Iron Maidens world. Don't forget to "Iron Up" 🤘🤘
professional passenger jet pilot and trains pilot and wrote a training manual, novelist and has written articles, songs. not a professional fencer but an amateur once ranked 7th in the uk, still fencer, businessman, gives speeches, dj on the bbc, podcaster psycho schizo espresso, writting graphic novels. wrote 18 minute maiden empire of the clouds about a 1930 airship crfash. yes axel can't compare.
@@MsBenlane I will retain none of that but thanks, Wiki
The trooper is a must... rock on🤘
Wow. Came to check back on you. Surprised to see commenters have finally recommended Iron Maiden..no surprised..just feel like finally😊
maiden is the first band that turned me into a metal head in 81
Hallowed Be Thy Name
🇬🇧 "Number Of The Beast" & "Hallowed Be Thy Name". I'm not a "Metalhead" by any means, but these are two top (well, my top!) tunes by Iron Maiden. 👍
Judas Priest "Painkiller". Get it!
UP THE IRONS 🤘🤘
1st 7 albums are top notch quality
nothing like a bit of British Metal 🤘
Awesome! Number of the Beast next please ❤
Rime of the ancient mariner and writing on the wall by Iron maiden have been listing to them sence 1981
Bought this single aged 12 in 82 . Still have thev7 inch vinyl
This Classic is from Maiden’s 3rd and the Singer Bruce Dickinson’s first one with the band
IRON MAIDEN/JUDAS PRIEST. They both had the duel lead guitars. EPIC SOUND
Bruce Dickenson has an incredible voice
Was just on another video and recommended this and Dio Holy Diver, so came to see if u had already done them. So Im here for it. We had some amazing metal bands in the 70s and 80s contrary to what many believe. Hey we hippies love metal, lol. Thanx much, Peace
:) Epic to see live - saw them in 85/86 ish I believe.
Im a fan of everything you've reacted to i can tell you. Everyonr here loves some skynyrd
You man, just checking out stuff you released before I joined. Good to see you covered this classic🤘
Great tune
Great band
“Can I play with Madness”
Great tune as well
I know I said on one of your Metallica reactions that you're always better off listening to the studio version of a song before checking out the live version, but you can ignore that advice when it comes to Iron Maiden since they're actually better live than they are in the studio. Seriously, they're one of the greatest live bands of all time and Bruce Dickinson's vocals need to be heard live.
The best live or studio
Ok so I think I’m hooked. This will be my 3rd one today. I’m off today and I think I’ll be binging your reactions.
This is the best concert I have ever seen. Bruce Dickerson commanded an audience of thousands like we were a bunch of idiots.
Soooooo close!! It was 82, and i was 13. This shit killed me at the time. It was (at that time) really hard hard rock. I was never the same after this album! Lol
My favorite maiden song. Good stuff.
Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind and Powerslave are three of the best Hard Rock/heavy metal albums ever
You can pretty much pick anything from the Maiden catalog and be blown away. There's a tune off the Dance of Death album called
Paschendale. Great story. Worth checking out man. Just came across you this morning. Pretty funny man. Keep on keeping on man.
Dragonforce-Through the fire and flames 🔥. Jaw dropping amazing guitar work
Iron maiden do a lot of songs about with historical themes. The trooper, rhyme of the ancient mariner run to the hills are just a few.
Up the irons! 🤘🏼
Fear of the Dark from Rio 2001 is epic!!
I saw maiden in the 90s and took my son to his first concert ever in 2019 so of course who better than maiden for a first live show
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name (Rock In Rio 2001), or any live Maiden really. Really worth a deep dive into their catalog. Such a great band.
Live (Beast Over Hammersmith 82')
It was 1982 and their third album. You need to listen to some later songs from other albums. They are still touring now they are aged 60 to 70's and selling out tour within hours
IRON MAIDEN - TROOPER
IRON MAIDEN - TROOPER
IRON MAIDEN - TROOPER
IRON MAIDEN - TROOPER
very good close guess on the year. and these are from your part of England. Definitely one of the top British bands. that started the NWOBHM, New wave of british heavy metal. You absolutely have to check out the Powerslave album. Arguably a top 3 record in the Iron Maiden World. They are still touring and the lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, is the acutal pilot of the gigantica aircraft they use to get from shows in the US and beyond
Maiden is Great, keep doing them. But next you need to do Skid Row. Start with “Youth gone Wild”
Gotta check out their early live video of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" Bruce Di kensons nickname was "The human air-raid siren" You'll see why!
Bruce is a GOD!
continue with Maiden. Next song Hallowed By the Name (live 82) ! Maiden Is the best band ever walked at earth!
There was nothing like this in the 70's. 1982
