Disposable Heroes is an anthem. Metallica at their most dangerous. The song is a masterclass of thrash perfection and the key changes you felt in the solo were wonderful to see you experience. It's hard to take this music in at first listen and we are all enjoying your journey with Metallica. They truly deserve the fame they have earned.
This.......
I don't know what else to say besides.... This....
Master class perfect explanation of master of puppets no other album can ever compare to this 💀
What's the most beautiful thing in Kirk's solo is there no exaggeration in solo. He plays the way the best and that best lies in the song. Not too many tones to show his knowledge, but only to amplify the whole song.
Nicely said brother. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
What key change?? the entire song is in Em.
Im a 90s Marine and feel this song, especially now knowing what i know. Metallica knew before we knew, (for those who now know).
I was in the army then and this song affected me a lot. I started doing coke and weed and ended up in ccf for busting a piss test. I just kept looking around my friends and saying strange things like "we have been brainwashed since we were children to kill an imaginary enemy". So they ets'ed my three months early and gave me a plane ticket home. Three months later, I watched the invasion of Kuwait and thanked luck that I was so ate up. Shout out to the 423'd medical batallion. I love you guys.
There's too many songs off the first 4 or 5 Metallica albums that could be anyone's favorite at any given time, This one however goes full speed for 8 minutes straight and has one of the greatest solo's ever, It's just on another level.
Yep the first 4 albums is just classic after classic
Exactly! The first FOUR albums! lol

James is a beast. To pick that fast and sing at the same time is insane
He's my fantasy hubby 😍 💕
@@Metal_Mary I'm a straight dude, and I don't blame you. He's a GD badass.
Apparently he's slightly embarrassed by his higher register, but James' voice during the 80s was magic. He's really great now, too, at 60 but there's nothing like his early singing/screaming.
I agree tho I didn’t know he didn’t like his earlier high voice. It’s sublime is it what it is.
Best Metal album of all time. I got to see them play this once in the pit. It was crazy. I’ve seen the 16 times. Always in the pit. 🤘
I've been listening to this album for 36 years. I still get goosebumps, my dude. What I want to know is HOW IN THE HELL can reactors hear something like this and not immediately listen to everything they can find? That's what started my Metal journey and I couldn't get enough. Keep in mind... For me, it was pre-internet. We had to borrow or buy everything that we wanted to hear. Most radio didn't play heavy metal and MTV was hit and miss.
Well because if they listen to everything they can find without getting a patreon request or money donated first, they can’t claim it’s their first reaction 🤷♂️ just being honest either that or they do and lie faking their “first” time reaction to a song
There is NO MUSIC like this today!! Metallica just killed it!! Every Song back then was Fantastic!!
I give this a thumbs up 👍, even before I've watched your reaction. I know you are gonna love this epic song. It's even better live 😊.
Yes!! ❤
They never played it live when they were in their prime-at least, not after Cliff passed.I therefore have to disagree.. Live, Lars can’t keep up the double kick drums, Kirk is sloppy as hell, and James can’t maintain the whirling chainsaw of razor-wire vocals, as he could on the record, or he could back in 1986.

@@riphopfer5816maybe do some research before putting bold claims like that. They debuted this song in 85’ when Cliff was still alive. Look it up, the live version is here on youtube. I also added the youtube link. They most likely played other times afterwards before Cliff died.
I told him isten this 4 weeks ago, best song ever@@Metal_Mary
Hottest Metallica song ever!! It melted my face in 86 and always will.🤘😝🤘
When I first heard Metallica. I was hypnotize and I am still to this day 35yrs later. I can honestly say the Master of Puppets album is metal royalty. Legendary!!! Fn out of this world!
This is the greatest Metallica track ever. The one that grows on you like no other and eventually becomes your all time favorite
Prisoner of the moment.
Definitely their best song. No debate
Dad introduced me to Metallica when I was 4 years old and I think he had the same reaction I have watching these reactions videos. Seeing someone experience something you hold dear is an amazing feeling. I've listened to every single song Metallica has put out and Disposable Hero's is the greatest Thrash song they produced. The slow draw of the opening, modulation with tempo that pulls you in and the ending where you have no idea if they're going to keep going or stop playing. It's a 10/10 song, glad you enjoyed it man!
Agree with you. This is what I consider Metal.
IMHO, this is the greatest metal song ever recorded.
I relook at all your Metallica reactions and cant belive you dont have this song in your playlist
I still can’t believe that Hetfield can downpick that fast while singing. It’s unreal.
I'm going to be shallow and pedantic, but this song doesn't have downpicking
@@AB-gb1om The intro is downpicked
@AB-gb1om it switches between down picking and uppicking throughout the song
If you like the album versions just wait till you see them live. It is what they’re known for. 😊
I’m an old lady and was never big on heavy metal but Metallica has a special spot in my heart. 💜👵🏼✌🏼
This is probably my favorite Metallica song.
Been waiting for this one - love it. Thanks. The live performance every Metallica fan will want you to do is 'Metalica Battery live in Seattle 89' - absolutely vicious. James sings like he just had a handful of gravel just thrown down his throat - and I'm here for it - music made by men for men.
Please do the 1989 Seattle concert. It's so good, and it's considered their peak.
Can't wait to see you react to something off Kill Em All. That album is the genesis of thrash metal and it hits HARD!!
You have to react to the metal hammer fest 85 performance ,James announces it as a new song, they absolutely kill it.
Like several have said...you need to see the 2009 Mexico live version....catcvhes all the energy and might sound better than the studio version...glad to see you enjoying the ride :)
I put that in top 3 live performances you can find on UA-cam behind Creeping Death in Moscow 91 and Master of Puppets Seattle 89
IMO the most aggressive song they ever did! 😎
Kirk's solos are an incredible work of art, I always feel something new in these solos,I always catch a new part that I think I've missed ❤❤❤❤❤
Disposable Heroes live in Mexico City👍🏼
Best Metallica song ever.
Not much more to say🔥
Omg, one of my favs!! I hope it's live version in Mexico City!!! I've been requesting it!!! I'm definitely waiting with Anticipation!! Please be a Live version and as a bonus Mexico City!! The Energy is Insane!! But I'll still love Any Live version ❤
Pure metal genius!!!
This is my favorite song on the album and easily one of my top 3 Metallica songs.
every metallica reaction you do and plan to do, all of us will love. WE NEED MOREE🙏🏽🙏🏽, do full album reactions
I am pleased to see your channel growing so swiftly
Since I was 18yrs old I've been into Metallica. Disposable Heroes has ALWAYS been my most favorite track. I went to Monsters Of Rock in Buffalo NY in 1990. Metallica performed & they were very brand new!!🔴
Metallica love !!!!!! Hello from Ukraine
Lars was playing at such an elite high level, he was playing out of his mind on these early albums ❤❤❤
The Thing That Should Not Be is a must watch, seattle 89 and No Leaf clover from either S&M1 or S&M2 would be great choices
When you now hear first the Album Version than get you blowin away when you see the Live Version from 2009 in Mexico City!!😎😎😎😎
Yessss!! The Energy is EVERYTHING from this entire concert!! All Nightmare Long is a Banger from this concert too!!🤘🙏❤️🔥
Came here to say the exact same thing!!
The whole album is a masterpiece 🤘❤️🤘
I've only been able to see Metallica live once, and they opened with this! Followed up with Lepper Messiah, best show I've ever seen!!
Come on Metallica fans, let's all get together and get Mollyboy to react to Disposable from metal hammer fest 85, it's a moment in Metallica history that he has to experience.
Imagine taking this album home for the first time and listening to it song by song thinking with each one that it was the best song on the album and then getting to this as the last song in the album- the entire album is an absolute masterpiece!
Those were the days I was 15 and this album was insane and is still insane..best band to ever walk the earth
This isn't the last song. Damage Inc is.
Please do "the thing thing that should not be" and the live of it in 1989 in Seatle
Masterpiece
This song basically represents the crosses on the album cover. The amount of soldiers that were used to the point they were pretty much disposable.
“21, only son, but he served us well. Bred to kill, not to care, do just as we say. Finished here, greetings Death, he’s yours to take away”.
No retreat:
“you will do as I say when I say - (get) back to the front”
“You will die when I say you must die - (get) back to the front”
“You coward, you servant, you blind man”
Out of the gate... machine gun to the face... chainsaw to the chest.
Fuckin Metallica 🫡🤘
love the reactions, keep up the good work!
Hope your channel keeps growing. I love these reactions - you make the same face I made about 20 years ago when my dad introduced me to this music. Watching someone else hear it and enjoy it is awesome
If you are gonna do full album reactions, gotta start with thier first album Kill Em All and work your way through thier catalog and hear them mature.
Love your video response😊 I'm an old school fan loved it
Can't wait to watch this after work🤘🤘
this song live in Mexico...best believe
bro i love your videos, since i don't have many fans around me, i definitely feel connected to how genuine you are! if you want to push further, they did a live with a symphonic orchestra, it's mind blowing...
Oh my goodness! Loved your reaction! I’m more of a PF fan but I totally enjoyed this Metallica beauty with you 💥
A solo with no wah, so good!
Watching your face during the solo made my day! One of my favorite songs simply for the riffs and the solo
hero of the day ;)...go next
TooL Army here reporting in. Keep going on your Metallica journey. Best metal album ever!
One of my favourite Metallica song. Masterpiece ❤
The whole album is a master piece!
Epic solo...crazy riffs...i love it
10:45 Mollyboy in absolute awe 😮
Perfection
I told you, mate…this is Metallica’s best song, in terms of musicianship and composition. Perhaps in all ways. I’m glad you liked it-though I was sure you would after your response to ‘Master Of Puppets’.
Close but not quite....dyers eve is the best
thats your opinion, imo this is their best song to date. Dyers eve is amazing too!@@darthpaul490
Your face 😂it’s like your having to be made to take horrible medicine 🤣🤣
Metallica are genius ❤
James is talking about getting back to the front. As the front of a war fight....
If you're going to react to an album from start to finish I think you should do ...And Justice for All. One is the only song you've done off the album so far so most of them will be new for you. As amazing and groundbreaking as Master of Puppets is, this one is my favorite. There's just something about it. The themes they talk about are as relevant in today's climate as they were when it released in 1988. James' vocals somehow sound angrier. It's the most technically advanced playing they've done to date and the guitar tone is so satisfying to me. One thing to note though is that this was their first LP after Cliff Burton died, and Lars had the bass turned way down in the mix so you can kinda feel it but not really hear it. For some reason it just works for me and the raw sound produced just adds an extra layer to everything. Not really sure why.
MOLLYBOY... METALLICA...
THE PRINCE!
KILLER RIFFS!!!
SHORTEST STRAW!
VINTAGE METALLICA!
Told you, my friend; “Disposable Heroes” would take you apart in the best possible way 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥…..it’s Thrash Metal Royalty 🔥🔥. Kirk’s guitar solo is so otherworldly….do the live reaction of this song from Mexico 2009….pure crowd-orgasm to be witnessed 🔥🔥. Btw; when it comes to speed go for “Damage Inc,” from the same album….killer song 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
I’m truly enjoying your Metallica reactions! ❤
Glad you like them!
Heavy. ..... put the kids to bed HEAVY. 🤘😎💪
I'm 14/15.... Wild child in Streets of Houston when this is unleashed. .. .
I'm 54 now... And have always known this is some of the greatest metal ever laid down
one of the greats, one of the greatest greats!
Before Jason Newstead their bassist was Cliff Burton who died when the band had a bus wreck while on a tour in Germany. His last recorded album was And Justice for All. So the Black Album was the start of a new era for the band.
Jason played on Justice. That was 1988. Cliff died 1986.
I thought Cliff help record the album, but died before release. Thanks for clearing that up.@@motleydude73
react to Dyers Eve, one of my favorite songs.
The MOP album is amazing end to end, no weak points in it
Metallica for 40 years❤❤❤❤.
Easily my favorite Metallica, from my easy favorite Metallica album. Was a treat to be present when played live.
The pauses are cool, kick ass song!
Thee anthem brother 🤘
BANGER. .💯💯💯💯💯🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
if you want to hear a really fire solo from metallica i recommend dyers eve
I WAS BORN FOR DYYYYYIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!
This is the best, or I guess my favorite, intro to any Metallica song ever.
Pure metal heaven!
Heh heh.....jeez dude! You looked totally spent after this one (and rightfully so)!
The one bummer about your Metallica journey is that you can only hear these songs for the first time ONCE. But then you get to move on to the live stuff (they are still cranking out live stuff as we speak). As you've seen, their live performances are on another level.
Can't wait for you to take in "Damage Inc." from this same album. They say it's something like 200+ beats per minute.....some crazy number like that.
Damage Inc.'s lyrics are brilliant as well. If the U.S. Navy Seals had a theme song, that would be it. It's a speeding ticket waiting to happen.
Great vid (as I knew it would be). Looking forward to the next upload.
I highly recommend fight fire with fire
Damage, inc. is my favorite from Master of Puppets album. You need to hear this one my friend!
I looked like you mind melted during that solo
Sooooo good
Yes, it is time somebody to mention Damage, Inc., speaking about fastest this, fastest that.
Tunnnee this was when my metallica journey started back in 86 . i am 50 now and still love the band my fav album is justice for all 🤘🤘🤘
Gr8 channel BTW listen to the unforgiven trilogy or to live is to die instrumental
I saw the master of puppets tour when they opened for ozzy it was one of the best concerts that I kinda remember 😂
On a trivial side-note, the main intro guitar riff, is taken from a US television show called Hogan’s Heroes from the 1960’s. Quite sure one can find it here on UA-cam.
Thr live version from Mexico City is amazing!!
THIS IS THE ONE!!!
😅...I think you broke a sweat on this one bro!!!😂🤣
Imagine being blown away on the day it was released. Tower records was a mad house! lol
if you do the live version of this song i strongly suggest the one from mexico city!
also really want to see your reaction to domination by pantera. i promise youll love it
"Left to die with only friend,
alone I clench my gun."
yeah, nuff said.
oh, how I missed to add it to my gym playlist)
