    Oh I love this. Its soo tasty when done just right. I love the ends of anything bake there's something about the crispy edges. Yes I agree with u I never seen it sellin in the markets, but a neighbour somewhere always used to make it. & I used to scrap out da leftovers from the pan🤭. Candy those days are looong gone sittin on that iron coconut shredder🤨. Thanks for sharin...

      Yesss same here love the ends of anything lol and the sit-down graters were actually the easiest way. I hated the hand graters too much arm strength and cuts on my fingers.

    What a treat! So simple to prepare with the help of this little appliance. I❤️ the addition of the condense milk n little brown sugar for colour. You’re my fave chef as you generously share your ideas. Your kitchen no doubt had the sweetest smell from the pone 🙏🥰

    I tried your pone recipe today and served it for dessert after dinner. This was my first time ever making pone and it was delicious. I remember having pone in Guyana many times and I think my parents made it once or twice after we moved to the states, but I had not had it in YEARS. This was a wonderful throwback to my younger days!! Thank you for teaching me how to make it!

    Sorry for the late comment, but work got the better of me. Mom is very impressed with this recipe and will use it. She makes Pone the 'old-time ' way, which is very time-consuming. Thank you very much.

    • @candythaglamcook
      @candythaglamcook  2 роки тому

      Awesome 👌🏾 good luck. To your question black pepper is one of the main ingredients for guyanese version of cassava pone. But of course you can leave it out if you like it's not a big deal.

    Forgive me Sis, so this is kinda like a sweet bread/cornbread type of dessert dish as far as texture?
    I have to find a restaurant around me in Dallas that has the Guyanese cuisine.

    • @candythaglamcook
      @candythaglamcook  2 роки тому +1

      No it's not like cornbread it has a gummy texture.

    • @TTABBQ
      @TTABBQ 2 роки тому +1

      @@candythaglamcook I guess the closest maybe I've ever tried is like a Turkish delight, or a Taiwanese dessert that was gummy that my Aunt used to make. But im not sure at all until I try one of those.
      Thanks always.
