Exactly. You can’t afford to purchase in Utah for anything less at this point. $700k homes and 7% mortgage rates equate to a $5k house payment. Food has gone up significantly, it’s comparable to Southern California at this point.

Like you said, cost of living is going up everywhere. I’m from Southern CA currently in the North East. It’s expensive out here and California does not have a rent ceiling. Utah is on my radar.
Perfect! A fellow Southern California myself for 15 years! Would love to chat with you, Andrew if Utah becomes something you’d like to explore more. Thanks for watching!
@@livinginslc Thanks for your reply. Without a crystal ball, could you say that SLC market value will become as expensive as California, San Francisco, San Diego or even Seattle? Particularly in the rentals.
85F to 90F? During the summer, 85F can be the overnight temp. There will be 4 to 6 weeks of temps sitting on either side of 100F. Also, this state is conservative AF and it is reflected in many places you wouldn't expect including education. Public transportation?????? Hahahahahahaha. I use it but people here want to drive and have no interest in funding its expansion. If you want to ski/climb/mtb, this is a great place to be but there are huge drawbacks. Do your research
Thank you for pointing out that it's hot hot hot here all summer. After the 4 th of July expect at least 2 months with temps around 100 or higher. Your comment is so true.
@@livinginslc These houses that are being built have no yards and stacked very close together. They are built in Saratoga for people to work in Salt Lake city. They are over 500k. So with 7% rates now-if you make 80k a year you can't buy one right now. Now we have so much inventory coming on the market and longer and longer times on market-it's just starting, but it's going to get worse. Love to talk to you in person.
Can you make a video on the cost of renting realtors always focus on homebuyers? But they don't really give much insight into people who are just coming to rent and like. What areas are you know?Considered safe.I know, as a realtor you're not really supposed to say what safe and unsafe, but you could definitely say.Well.The area of crime is higher in this area.Or I definitely don't drive over in this area after dark.I mean all that sort of information is helpful especially for single women moving to a place where they're not going to know anyone
I moved here from Orange Country (was originally born in Utah), it was impossible to find a decent rental. This entire video is kind of full of shit, tbh. The prices are similar to CA, but you make a fraction of the salary.
The air pollution in Utah is so terrible that it will actually take years off your life. I've had multiple family members die from lung disease after never touching a cigarette in their lives. Plus, the frequent dust storms from the dried up lake bed are kicking up more and more arsenic every year. In a couple years it's going to be an ecological disaster that is going to have serious consequences on public health and property value.
Don't come! all traffic. 2: no yards dogs pee and poo 3: air inversion. Makes thousands miserable sick, 4: you won't like the Mormons, maybe you could be wife number 2.
You should add a caveat that this video is directed towards people making more than $250k a year.

@@Andrew66632 Such a great question! The rental market in the Salt Lake City metro area did go up 17% this past year.

Lots of stuff you say are true, but tech is clawing back now. Construction will be a problem soon.
@@melorbode Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Just curious why you think construction may be an issue soon.

Utah is full. No more room. We are in a water drought. No 20 dollar an hr jobs. Her description of my state is soooooo wrong.

Agreed. This feels like a fluff piece to attract people to Utah.

Just curious, why is that?
