Yalecrest is all historic houses built in the 1900’s. The streets are tree lined with 100 year old trees. You’re not aloud to tear these houses down, and you have to get approval for remodeling. The neighborhood is very safe, and the community is great. It’s a traditional neighborhood and neighbors.
Our family will be moving there next year. Husband job is moving to Salt Lake but Company it self is in West Valley. We have small childern is West Valley a place to raise children.
You definitely can, and there are many who do live there and raise kids. The schools are average or below in that area, so you may want to look further south if possible. West Jordan or South Jordan would be good.
I like West Valley because it's the most diverse city in all of Utah. Diversity is an under appreciated quality when looking to live in an area, but it will help you children become better citizens of the world.
Noooooo! I guess it depends on where you're moving from, and what you're looking for. But, being a SoCal native, I have disliked SLC very much. I've been here 2 years, and am leaving- running, rather. We live in a more pricey area than west valley, and the schools were terrible. So, to go to a worse neighborhood- no way the schools are adequate. Schools are bad, crime rate is high, people are rude. Most of the city is like this, west valley is worse than the average though. If your kids are currently well behaved and have decent grades, your best bet is to go as far south as possible (although those areas seem to be even more religious than others). Good luck on your move.
Yes, when you get into wasatch/summit county it gets much better actually. Housing will be more expensive though. Most homes in summit park will be 800k-1.2m+.
Sugarhouse is a great place, or anywhere downtown, or I could also recommend South Jordan or Herriman as options as well if you want a more suburban life
the great salt lake is drying up fast . the beaches have arsenic and many other harmful chemicals in it that blow around in dust storms . the city already has horrible air quality especially in the winter . it’s not a good place to live anymore , it’s very overcrowded. the great salt lake is responsible for the mountains near by getting their water . it has been drying up extremely fast and if it continues the entire northern utah area will have to leave due to the poison in the air

Yeah lots of positives there!
Extremely detailed video. Thanks for the information. I wish every state had a walkthrough like this.
This is really a great job, super detailed about the city. We think we are in the city, even with no pictures at all!

Is air quality good there?
It's not great, admittedly. I've done a number of videos on that actually, if you just search my channel.
@@LivingInSaltLakeCity I used to live in Oregon it's perfect there maybe they need to make fake clouds to rain it which will also help the lake :)
What do you think about Ogden area near Union Station?
Could you make a video on holladay I don’t think a lot of people know about it and it’s really nice 😊 I grew up there and the schools are awesome
I actually have! You can find it on my channel 👍🏽
Which is the best pre school for kids. I am moving from India to Salt lake city
Lots of great schools all around the valley but the better ones are generally in the south end of Salt Lake or Utah county.
U didn’t show the jazz arena
Where is best for young people

So surprised the cost of homes is very similar to where I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida
