If you really know what Utah has to offer (not just in and around Salt Lake City), there is tons to see and do. Several national parks, lakes and reservoirs for fishing and boating , skiing and snowmobiling, world class rock crawling, plenty of awesome places to go hiking.
The biggest problem with it is all the time and money to do it all.

To bad, there are so many places to get liquor in an LDS community. People don't seem to realize wether you're a member of the church or not, liquor 🥃 causes cancer, and people die everyday from from alcohol poisoning and liver failure from drinking! But know one does a thing about it!

Michael Fusciardi skip a few of these. The Gilgal Sculpture Garden is always on lists, but it’s not a cool part of Salt Lake-you really don’t need to see it, it’s not important. I have lived here for 12 years, and I’ve never met anyone who’s been there. Same with the “victim of the beast” grave. But do go see the Capitol Building, the Museum of Natural History, Temple Square, the library, City Creek, and Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. They’re actually cool. Antelope Island has some of the coolest spiders you’ve ever seen-even I think it’s cool, and I hate spiders!
Red Iguana is eh. It’s okay, but it’s not the best. Eva’s Bakery has a cool vibe, but the food isn’t that good. I’ve never been to Caputo’s or Avenues Proper, so I can’t help you there, but Hatch Family Chocolates is next to my doctor’s office, and it makes it fun to see my cancer doctor. Hatch Family Chocolates is the best!!

I know this video is older but one thing to mention is, how modern this place is becoming and all the fun things to do here. Most of Hollywood loves this place; hundreds of movies/shows were filmed here, are currently being filmed here, many actors live here or have winter homes, Post Malone just moved here, Modern Family's Ty Burell owns the bar, The Green Pig, downtown. Most of SoCal and Vegas are movie here due to high number of jobs and the booming housing market.

Man. I was excited to see this video, but finishing with Oh Mai brings tears to my eyes. I loved their Bahn Mi and Pho. I was also a huge fan of Lucky 13 by the baseball stadium, Real Salt Lake games, and going up the trolley at Snow Bird. But this list, while I didn’t partake of all 22 things, I did greatly appreciate it. I lived in Utah for 7 years, nearly 2 of them just south of downtown SLC, so I know all too well the places and things you discussed here. Thanks for sharing!

ensign peak is a hike with a better view of the city if that’s what you’re looking for in a hike as it’s right behind the capitol. it’s about 45 mins each way and pretty steep but totally worth it. i recommend going at nighttime or sunset to see the city lights. if you want a more natural view, literally any canyon in the state has fantastic hikes with awesome views

The one time I've done that hike, we watched as some guy and his friends schlepped an entire dining room up to the top and set up a table and small kitchen so he could do a sunset meal for his girlfriend and propose to her. We didn't stick around to see the result, but hopefully she said yes. Truly though, the view from there is unbeatable as the sun goes down and the city lights up.

As a Utahn I highly recommend seeing Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake before the Lake recedes more. As someone who lives in the city that antelope Dr passes through, I can drive down to Antelope Island anytime and visit the reserve. I recommend going to the little mini history\observing buildings that you find once you enter the island. You can see all sorts of cool facts about brine shrimp and the Great salt Lake. You can also look through viewing windows where birds will sit and eat feed. Some are birds you may never see again in your life!
I also recommend Zion's National Park down by Hurricane and St. George. It's an amazing national park and its absolutely beautiful. (I know this doesn't relate to Salt Lake City but it's a great thing)

I would recommend Ruth’s diner in Emigration Canyon too. With a beautiful, tree-covered dining area it’s great and cool even in summer.
If you want to feel that Prohibition vibe head to Bar X! It has everything from lighting to great cocktails to bring you back to that era of underground bars. Very nice place.
Regarding Red Iguana it’s almost impossible without a reservation but it’s definitely great!
Lastly I would recommend regrouping downtown activities together as they are usually pretty short. Can be done in one day! Then you could head to Park City for other cool stuff a gorgeous views.
    Cheers from Salt Lake City!

A locals secret about the Red Iguana..... there are 2 of them. Often the line outside the original Red Iguana on North Temple is an hour or longer, but of course it is still worth the wait! However, if you want the same killer Mexican food in less cramped quarters, Red Iquana II is just a block south @ 866 W South Temple and I've never had to wait in line to get in! (It's quieter inside as well, which is why I prefer it over the original Red Iquana.)
