- I really love this movie and got the idea for this compilation after watching it for the 37th (probably) time
Also I made this after drinking a bunch of coffee so I’m sorry if it’s just crazy fast-paced. I’m sobering up and I now realize it is very fast lol

The development of Naveen being cocky, overconfident and chill when he first met Tiana slowly transitioned into dreamy, nervous & hesitant in talking to her afterwards was my favorite thing. It showed him being a better guy in this movie, and not the guy who fell in love at first sight lol

The same was with Eugene. He also changed his mind because of Rapunzel and became a better guy who even sacrified himself for her.
It's actually realistic too, he fell out of his own comfort zone and started being aware of what _she_ would think, something he's done more casually with other women before. Damn this is a perfect example of opposites attract, it's not really like magnets, but like puzzle pieces that have the opposite of what the other has, but practically complete each other.

The cool thing about this relationship was that Tiana never got pushed into the "I can fix him" narrative. Naveen just kinda saw her as a role model and allowed him to see things in a new light, hence he became a better person. These two are adorable.

Besides, the whole movie she's having flashbacks to being a human with her family and making references to her dream restaurant and upbringing in New Orleans. I love naveen because even though he's spoiled annoying he's a good person at heart-- like when Tiana isn't into him at the beginning he just moves on. and when he thinks they're about to be eaten he tries to protect her the best he can, its just a nice thing to see
It’s funny how Lottie and him have that in common. They’re both spoiled rich kids but they’re also very good to Tiana and really look out for the people they care about.

I forgot the definition but I know I heard it somewhere at a Renaissance festival.
You can literally see the change in the way he talks to her. When he wasn't interested it was heavy but empty flirting, the kind he'd do to every girl he sees. And then when he finally realizes his feelings the shallow flirting stops and is replaced with real, awkward, nervous attempts
Naveen went from "meh I'll marry some rich girl and spendmy life eating grapes and streching my legs on cushions" to "I'll need three jobs to help Tiana" and that's what we call charachter development
I will always love how she went from practically hating him, to tolerating him, then completely letting go and falling in love with him, also Naveen's character development is 𝓲𝓶𝓶𝓪𝓬𝓾𝓵𝓪𝓽𝓮

These two probably have one of the best “This is how I met my husband/wife” story ever. I also like how they’re the kind of couple that just naturally happens and are just living their lives to the best at the end. I loved this movie as a kid and I still love it how :)

0:02 what I really like here is the fact that he tried to get a girl to swoon, it didn’t work, but he wasn’t angry about it. He just went “oh well I can’t control her and there’s tons of fish in the sea”. That’s a great message to send to kids.

I love everything about them but NO ONE can change my mind when I say that when Naveen says "Because Tiana is my Evangeline" is the prettiest and most heart-melting moment in cinematic history
One thing you skipped over was Naveen’s short story about himself when he was chopping the mushroom. When he explained how his staff did literally everything for him, Tiana was sarcastically sympathetic for his *troubles,* but when he came to the realize that his parents accidentally screwed him over since he struggles to do anything important himself, Tiana’s eyes widen and realizes that this was a legitimate concern and tries to lighten his mood.
He has no business being this attractive. That's the only prince I paid attention ro lol

I’m just over here wishing they had put more of Big Daddy in the movie. He was supportive of his daughter’s best friend and her dreams, and the way he just wanted to eat his beignets but Lottie pulled him away from them and he looked sad was hilarious.
This romance was probably the best one in all Disney movies. Naveen went from being a hilariously careless and arrogant young man to a compassionate and responsible individual. Tiana learned to enjoy life rather than constantly working. I loved that Tiana finally realized that love is more important than simply seeking material ambitions, and she was even willing to accept being a frog forever as long as she and Naveen could be together. Naveen also realized this, as he had second thoughts about marrying Charlotte (simply for her good looks and wealth) and realized what a good person Tiana was. Their friendship, and eventual romance, was such a natural evolution. Even Charlotte was great, as she understood that by not marrying Naveen, she is allowing Naveen and Tianas' dream of being together to come true.
Okay but can we talk about how Naveen tries to flirt at the start and as soon as he is rejected he just goes “oh well, tried anyway” and goes back to what he’s doing?? Like, how often does a disney man be so nice damn.

It's good that in these ones Disney changed a bit fairy tails and made healthy relationships, not marriage without getting to know each other. What I love about this movie is that the male lead is lighter than the female lead. You don't see this in movies even today, its always the female who's lighter. And Tiana is actually dark skinned not just dark enough to be called black but dark.

She may be the spoiled, rich daddy's girl, but she isn't a snob, and she cares so much for her friend Tiana - her exact opposite - and doesn't blame her for any fallouts or trouble (the dessert mess at the party) and picks her up, gives her a new dress to wear and tries to cheer her up! When she sees true love between Prince Naveen and Tiana, she was willing to kiss Naveen to break the curse WITHOUT the wedding! Even if it wasn't her dream coming true, she was willing to make other's dreams come true! THAT'S true friendship right there! ^^

lottie is genuinely one of my favorite characters in disney- when I watched it for the first time I expected lottie to be super awful and just use tiana for her own gain but she’s so sweet and their friendship is just so cute
Naveen and Tiana are probably the most accurate disney couple because they actually formed a relationship over time. Also the way they got to know each other is very realistic getting on each other nerves, teasing and mocking until they got to know each other better. Naveen is my favorite disney Prince he has a lot of character where other princes are just a side character without any lines even.
This is why Naveen and Tiana remain THE BEST Disney couple (fight me on this). They hated each other in the beginning, but after learning new things from each other that led them to becoming better people for themselves, they also learned to love each other regardless of their flaws & accept each other for who they were. Truly relationship goals.

If you’ve seen Tangled the Series, I’d argue Rapunzel and Flynn are the best Disney couple. They also didn’t start out as friends, Flynn/Eugene only wanted to get his satchel back at first, but by the end they are willing to sacrifice everything to save the other person. In the series, Eugene is determined to help Rapunzel no matter what, he cheers her on but also gives her space

Princess and the frog is hands down the best movie. She’s a strong woman who was going to get her dream on her own regardless of a man, she charmed HIM and her best friend Lottie was incredible.

Lottie was also a great character in this movie. She was so supportive to tiana. She was rich and bratty to others but to tiana she is slightly more down to earth and she cares for tiana. When tiana’s outfit was messed up, she offered her a new dress. Get yourself a friend like Lottie.
Lottie straight up left her date to help her best friend. Best friend material right there.
On the other hand, she isn’t perfect. It appears she didn’t realise when Tiana was sad despite giving her a new dress because she was too busy wrapped up in the ball which I personally like as it makes her feel more real. There isn’t a character I don’t like in this film.

This is why I love Princess and The Frog _and_ Tangled.
Both men at the beginning were after something else, Naveen wanted to be a trophy husband. Eugene wanted the royal crown. But after going through so many things with Tiana and Rapunzel, both men slowly lost sight for the goal they had at the beginning, instead they began changing who they were, Naveen changed himself into a man that isn't dependent on his royal status and Eugene changed himself from a thief and into a man Rapunzel deserved. Both men fell for a selfish goal, until they started falling for the girl.

It saddens me that this movie is underrated. The message I learned from this story is that, everybody could learn something from one another. Just like how the care-free prince Naveen learn that in life, It's not good to just have some fun all the time. Then the hard working and almost perfect Tiana, learned that working literally all the time isn't good either. That it's not a crime to have some fun sometimes. At the end, both Tiana and Naveen learn to balance their traits. They are both managing the restaurant while having fun singing and dancing with their friend, Louis. 🥰😍
Notice how he fell in love w her as a frog even tho he knew how she looked like as human he fell for HER not bc of her looks but bc of how she was a sweet kind person w great personality w this it shows how healthy and great of a relationship this two have :,)))

when I first watched it in 2009 I loved the movie, I loved the game, i was OBSESSED with Tiana and her motivation and determination (that I even wanted to open my own restaurant as a kid :D), and then I finally loved Naveen (when he eventually changed for the better)

It's because they have a healthy relationship, they actually TALK AND GET TO EACHOTHER unlike Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella where they just fall in love with a complete stranger then get married to them??

From strangers who hated eachother *TO* acquaintance who despite not close, can tolerate eachother.
Then they went from acquaintance *TO* friends who share their own life experiences.
After that they went from friends *TO* a crush who developed feelings for eachother.
Naveen was always attracted to her-before during and after everything. He was forced to consider others around him and those he chooses to keep in his life. He met a smart, strong, hardworking woman who willingly kissed his nasty froggy butt.
Tiana learned to let down her guard and enjoy life instead of just working. She fell for Naveen when she saw his compassion and more positive qualities come about.
Don’t even get me started on the other characters.
I just realized that 'The Princess and the Frog' is literally an ✨enemies-to-lovers✨ except Disney can't do true ✨enemies-to-lovers✨ bc it's a children's channel/brand so this was how they compromised

@@omosummer840 it's not just "black characters". Characters of color go through this trope not only by Disney's hand, but other companies too. Ever heard of Brother Bear? Spies in Disguise is one. There's even an animated movie that came out years ago where the main character was asian and she was turned into a dolphin and she stayed that way for the whole movie, until the end. It's common.

few disney stories have a romance as full and deep as this one, where they genuinely have chemistry and truly respect and understand each other. as someone who doesnt even like romance, i really appreciated the way this one was created, and i was happy to see them even give up living as humans to just be together. i mean, they clearly had amazing friends in the bayou and im sure they would have been incredible happy either way, because they found themselves and what it was that made them happy regardless
maybe earlier Disney movies weren’t exactly really all that focused on romance Cinderella comes onto my mind
