As a retired cop, let me tell everyone…people that steal always have a bag/backpack. It’s a must to hide and carry what they have stolen. He was two miles from home on foot, he can’t carry much of anything from a construction site in his shorts. The home builder told the dad in front of the police he didn’t see him steal anything on camera, these guys just hated seeing him in their neighborhood.

Even if he had stolen something, they had no right to be vigilantes. He ran away, and never attacked him. This guy in the video even admitted it. Case shut.

Imagine how frightening it is if two strangers pulls up to you in a huge truck while you're on foot and alone shouting at you. You turn and run but they're following you. Oh God. His final moments must have been terrifying.

The sad part is, is it way worse than that right? He was being chased by one guy in a truck who was hitting him with that truck and he tried to run away but he couldn’t and when he tried to run away in a different direction he ran across another pair of men in another truck, one standing in the back of it, and he had another one pointing a shotgun at him, and for what for jogging?

He did not say anything at all, or do anything threatening. At the end of the encounter, Arbery was coming toward him, but she noted that he was running away from Roddie, so Travis saying that he saw this person as a threat who had been running away from them for 5 minutes, sounded ludicrous. And then she had the series of questions of "you could have_____", all things that Travis could have done which would have prevented the shooting. Travis acknowledged "I could have" to all the things she said, and his excuses for why he didn't were laughable. He really did convict himself, with help from her.

@@emilychen3839 They wanted to lash out at someone for the problems they were facing in their community. They wanted revenge on someone. They were power hungry, too, not confronting anyone at any time without a gun. And they fancied themselves executors of the law, because they used to be in military, or they used to be cops. Putting them above and giving them authority over the people they deemed outsiders.
You can tell how they were being intentionally deceptive throughout the entire case. The lawyers prepped them very well. "Do not let them say Arbery was running away from you." Every time Linda said "run away," he corrected it to "run past." Why? Because "running away" is defensive. "Running past" can be construed as both defensive or aggressive. And, of course, Travis walked directly into Arbery's path with a gun pointed at him, making it impossible for there not to be a shooting.
They also consistently rejected Linda saying Arbery was afraid. When Linda said Travis scared Arbery by driving beside him in the wrong lane and yelling questions at him, his response was "he wasn't scared." And when they questioned the medical examiner, the medical examiner said the "fight or flight" response was triggered by fear. And the defense suggested it could also be because he was ANGRY. And the medical examiner responded, no, I think it's probably the 3 men chasing him with trucks yelling they're going to blow his head off. Nope, he was just angry, not afraid.
You have to feel sorry for these lawyers. They have to make such a pathetic defense of these murderers because it's their job, but my god. It's so gross.

Travis says he is afraid Arbery would have tried to get in his open truck door. She says, you're telling this jury that you thought a man who has spent 5 minutes running away from you, wanted to continue to engage with YOU -- a man with a shotgun, and your father who said to stop or I'll blow your effing head off -- by getting into their truck? I love how Travis' smile just disappeared. He knew it made no sense and showed he was lying.

This is such a simple case as it pertains to Travis McMichael. He chased Arbery, who was running through the neighborhood. Arbery then tried to get away from him and McMichael kept chasing him. McMichael positioned himself in front of Arbery, blocking the road with his truck, and illegally pointed a shotgun at Arbery. Arbery tried to defend himself and McMichael killed him. This is America. So, at no point in time did Arbery ever have an obligation to respond to McMichael's requests to stop, to engage him in conversation, or to interact in any way with McMichael, his dad or the third guy who was chasing him with another truck.
