Classic Game Room reviews DRAGON SPIRIT for Nintendo Famicom!! The 1990 sequel to Namco's arcade game, Dragon Spirit, delivers solid dragon-powered 8-bit action!! This Xevious inspired vertical scrolling shooter will have you blasting enemy dragons with fire lasers and bombing ground targets. Pick up weapon power ups and try not to kill your dragon. - Розваги
My late grandmother gifted this to me when I was just a young kid. I had no idea it was going to be such an amazing game and many hours were played listening to the awesome music. I unfortunately had forgotten about it for years until just recently. I love this game!!!
This makes me feel nostalgic for my old CRT TV. She was a Toshiba stereo tv with 3-line digital comb filter, vertical contour and picture in picture...damn it I miss you, girl.
The icicles hurt you because dragons are weak to ice. That's basic Pokemon 101 right there.
Hilarious how Mark went from a huge three-headed dragon to a very tiny one-head dragon in about 10 seconds here. lol
Wow, just had a nostalgia attack. I remember playing this when I was 4 or 5 years old.
Has anyone else ever wondered what would happen if Lionel cried out "THUNDERCATS!!" 4 times instead of his usual 3? Like... would his sword become too powerful to wield? Would he unlike the secrets of the universe?
Would Snarf implode in on himself?

Unlike? It's a trap!

That bass playing sounds like a lot of Cliff Burton style riffs.
I had this on NES. One of my favorite games ever. I really enjoyed the music.
I'm afraid my need for therapy goes beyond my dislike of jellybeans.
@Samuel Nevalainen Yes, yes it is. The Famicom was released in 1983 in Japan and it stands for FAMily COMputer.
I was quite surprised at how good this version is. I played the Dragon Spirit game for the PC Engine first so had low expectations, but this version is excellent and very playable. Plus yes the box is awesome for the shelf.
your videos always make me laugh keep on reviewing everything ! ^.^
3:28 the sequel to dragon spirit is really dragon saber.Dragon Saber was also a arcade game and it has a port for the pc-engine.The game is also included with, namco museum encore for the PS1.
thats a sick soundtrack, reminds me so much of Jackie Chan's action kung fu which is one of my favorite NES OSTs of all time.
Saw dragon spirit and thought it was the TG 16 version, honestly that one looks and sounds much better
Um, yeah, it would look and sound better on a much more powerful machine, which the TG16 happened to be...
The Turbografx is better though the arcade version is 10 times better than this p.o.s.
next week on classic game room, mark reviews jelly beans
I love this game... And you
Thanks lord karnage for approving this review to mark. i have this game on the nes. i can't beleive i'm watching a game I actually own.
Even The Doctor loves jellybeans.
'Nuff said
I use to love the NES version when I was a kid.
I remember this on the C64.
I've played this on a namco collection for ps3. so hard
Ahh good ol' Famicom.
"I love jelly beans. I mean, to be fair, who doesn't love jelly beans? If you don't like jelly beans, there's something wrong with you. You need to go to therapy."
Truer words have never been spoken.
Ive always been partial to the TG 16 version
How many xevious type of games are released on the consoles in hystory. 2.500.000?
lord karnage you are the man, way better then the nerd cause i can watch a new review from you everyday :)
Mark your commentary is hilarious! Great job!
I had this on NES but then I got the ROM. I wish more gamers knew about this game so Namco could have done something with the series.
Also NO game released now would ever give you all that extra stuff for free in a regular retail copy. so sad.
you should do an AV-mod on your famicom! wouldn't cost you to much. I could do it, but problem is i live in Sweden :p
Fear the almighty equidistant space finger!
Yes I do like jellybeans, but I don't eat them all the time.
Are you reviewing the Retrron5 any time soon?
Please do!
***** What's wrong with it? I heard a lot of people say they're happy with it, besides not being able to use everdrives.
***** It still doesn't seem like a "peice of shit" or an "epic fail". Emulators are never 100% compatible, especially for every game ever made. But people are expecting perfection because it uses real hardware, which is an unfair standard. The only incompatibility I was surprised with was Sonic 3 & Knuckles, everything else was rather obscure.
***** I've heard people have all of their original consoles in a game room and a retron5 in their main living room. Apartment dwellers especially would love the space it saves. Believe it or not, plenty of people would rather use original cartridges and controllers over roms if they could. 720p looks much better than 240i on a modern tv iydk. People are buying them judging from store sites being sold out and restocking them. I don't see how being a niche product makes it shit. Nor why you feel so strongly about it.
***** My bad. *240p.
The Retron 5 is an Android Device & as such could be at some point hacked by a savvy programmer to allow for EverDrives or SDCards.
pretty cool like
Use should review the snes game clayfighter
Yes Jelly Beans are great! :D
dragon spirit is hard as fuck.
