This really brought back a lot of memories. My goodness, the nostalgia. I'm 38, and let me tell you----Batman 89 was an event. It's impossible to accurately relay it (if you weren't there to experience it). To this day, I'm hard-pressed to think about Taco Bell and NOT think of the Michael Keaton Batman movies. To this day, when I have a Mexican pizza (w/mild sauce) I'm sent back to 1992). Yes, I know that's not officially the era of Batman 89----but Batmania (for me anyway) lasted from 89 to 92. My nostalgic mind has just melded it all together.
I had all of the toys. Well, most of them. They're still in my mother's attic. I just might have to go and get them. That would send me right on back to the edge of my bed, and the floor of my bedroom---circa the summer of 89. I remember I wore out a JC Penney catalog from marveling over the toy section (that featured the Batman toys). No----not the bra section...that came a few years later. Lol
Thank you for this video. It really sent me back to the good ole days. If I'd have known they'd one day be regarded as such, I wouldn't have been in such a hurry to make the time fly on by. I guess that's the thing about the nostalgia of the good ole days----when it's presently unfolding, you're not aware that the right here and NOW will one day be pervasively longed after. But, alas:/it's gone (minus the time capsule of videos such as this). It really gives me great pause to analyze the here and now. Perhaps what I'm so anxious to get on through (in the present) will one day be assessed as "the good ole days"?

I’m a big fan of the 89 film, but I was born 3 years after it came out. Really wish I could’ve experienced the Bat-Mania of 89. It sounds like something special. The closest thing I got was the Summer of 2008. There was a lot of anticipation for The Dark Knight. From what I’ve heard though the hype for that film doesn’t compare to what it was like in 89. Which is just insane to me.

@@jalenjohnson1662 2008 was an awesome and unique time as well. I have a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in that era as well. I'm glad you were around to experience that. What a special time these two eras were, to be alive. How rare it is (especially nowadays) to have a movie spark such an experience. As fantastic as 2008 was, I'd say it was 25% of what the Batmania of 89-92 was. That's in no way intended to diminish, abate or lessen the impact of The Dark Knight. Quite honestly, without the Tim Burton films (love him or hate him) we would've never had the Nolan trilogy. They're all connected. They're all one entity --- individual parts of a greater whole.
      Cheers, my friend.

I remember on opening weekend, we were handed a brochure that listed all the Batman merchandise. It was like a Christmas list, lol. The cereal was really tasty and it's worth noting that's Prince's soundtrack is a Batman story onto itself.

This is honestly an absolutely amazing new series.
And this toyline was classic. I really liked the Jack Nicholson Joker, both the toys and the actual on screen portrayal. Bat Mania was here

Was coming here to post this myself. My favorite was the Batman Returns figure that was Bruce and then you could add all the stuff to put the Batsuit on him. So cool.

I had this action figure too. Was one of my favorites. I remember making him swing from the grappling hook from object to object at my sister’s elementary school waiting for her after a play

It is funny that a lot of people thought that Michael Keaton would make an awful Batman, but ended up one of the best takes on him.

Sounds like a similar situation with alot of the recent actors taking on the cowl.

I was 11 when this movie was released. I was so obsessed with it. That summer a local TV station would air the original Adam West series every weekday, with a chance to win movie passes if you called in the correct answer to the trivia question. On the very last possible day of the promotion, I called in and won movie passes, ironically of which I could not use to see Batman. So I saw Ghostbusters 2 instead. I think I still have all the Batman comics I drew during that summer as well.
The soundtrack done by Prince was iconic too. All over the radio that summer.

I loved what I just saw, in this video. but what a collection by God !, what a time !. ! wonderful! what a movie!
my god! Thank you Warner Bros, Tim Burton and DC Comics! This film changed our lives forever! of the entire collection I loved seeing that Batcycle 4:00 min. It is very nice but I am very detailed. Sorry but that motorcycle that Batcycle is a perfect little fusion between the Batmobile and the Batwing. because it has things that represent a lot to the two vehicles of the film. of the Batmobile has in the rear parts what would be like the bat ears that Batman has, the little orange light that is like the rear fire turbo propeller that fires the Batmobile and the front part where the headlights are, has yellow colors like the Batmobile that we see from the front. That is why I tell you that I am very detailed. but this little motorcycle is still a wonderful one. I wish they had put it in the film. with a few tweaks and various gadgets it would work. Batwing has on the bottom, in the middle, on both sides, it has like two bat wings, glider style, which opens and closes. but we see in the photo of the box that the motorcycle does open, and you can see that it has wings like those of the Batwing. that's why I say that this bike has a fusion between those vehicles that are important in the movie. I wish this bike had been made for the movie. if motorcycle manufacturers had known this. But forget about it, nor do they hesitate to make them, they would already be on sale for even more than 33 years. where would half the world have them
either the Toy and the Real versions. Can you imagine it?
Batmania in 1989 was all the rage. nowadays I don't think a movie has the same impact that this one had. there is no such thing today. it was crazy that summer. but everyone happy

I've got a Batman coin bank from the 1992 Batman returns. It's still in the box and everything with a 1991 copyright and the official DC mech sticker. I had the same one when I was a kid, but it was stolen. I bought one still in the box from eBay for like $20. Now it's on my desk. Looks so dope.

Still got that very joker poster ( in a frame) got all the toy biz figures still, the batmobile and it's unbelievably fragile armour cover that fits over it ,my mum actually thought the shield piece was part of the packaging ( I still remember running after her into the kitchen on Christmas Day ) ,shouting don't throw my shields away , so it has a particularly special place in my heart , and display cabinets .

I remember 1989 was a big year for Batman. The closest things I got was a movie collector magazine aswell as the official DC comics tie in. Batmania was sweeping the world and changed the shape of Movie marketing.
