Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer, which has had several incarnations. It too is fading from collective memory because the episodes are generally not purchaseable ~
Little bit of trivia for you guys over at JoBlo. When casting the 2008 Knight Rider spin the producers wanted an actor who look like a young David Hasslehoff to play Michael Knight's son. They was reminded Michael Knight was born Michael Arthur Long who was played by Larry Anderson in the pilot so if anything Michael Knight's son will have to look like a younger version of Larry Anderson. Which is why Justin Traven got the role

It's serious when it needs to be, light when it needs to be without ever feeling the slightest bit forced. As a kid I was a huge Knight Rider fan. I loved the car, and at 8 years old, I also believed, I'd marry Hasselhoff when I grew up. 😂 For some years of my childhood, I lived in South Africa, and once a month we'd go to the city for a big grocery haul. One time, there was K.I.T.T. displayed in front of the store (it would have been a replica, but as a child I didn't realize that and my parents let me believe it was the real K.I.T.T. from the show). You could line up for a few minutes of sitting in the car and talking to it. The dashboard and buttons and lights all looked so real. Hidden somewhere was a guy with a microphone, who talked to you, but that, too, wasn't known to me back then. Of course, I took the chance, but I must have been so excited that today I can't remember anything of what I might have said to or asked "K.I.T.T.". 😅 Now I live in Germany, and once a year there's a big U.S. car show in my city, with old classic cars, muscle cars, Back to the Future DeLoreans, and, of course, at least two or three people come with their really awesome K.I.T.T. replicas. They put so much love and work into making them look totally authentic to the show, and each time I get to see them and peek inside, I remember that cool day from my childhood, where I believed I actually got to meet our favorite TV car. 😊
I love these videos! Have to correct that Stevie was not a "new lover", she appeared in two previous episodes and had been Michael Long's girlfriend years before. Fun fact, the actress who played Stevie married a man named Michael Knight later in real life.
me too back in 80s i was in middle school & high school later 80s decade.. used to watch this show & NEVER missed the episode , loved that car the most
When my Mom and I moved to Trinidad to be with my Dad, it was a month or so after Knight Rider began. It was my favorite show on television. So nostalgic *but* so good.
back in ‘85 i got to sit in the driver seat of Kitt at a car convention in my city. ill never forget that day, especially since william daniels was there actually speaking to me through the car 😎
I clearly remember the brilliant promos the summer before it came out…just the music and the front of the car coming at with with the Ceylon lights ‘a flashing. Really got you intrigued!
Just recently started buying the Knight Rider season's from Amazon and I am enjoying them immensely! I only got a few glimpses of the show when I was a kid cause our Cable was limited, though I remember Battle Star Galatica being on a lot. Re-living the times when I was a kid in the 80's through great shows like this, I miss that decade. . . .
Glen A Larson was a brilliant tv producer. Producing some of the most entertaining and thought provoking tv shows of all time which had great inventive storylines and charismatic actors from the 1970s and 1980s and brillaint special effects for television and American tv shows like these were some of the most popular in the world in syndication even though these shows were aimed only at an american tv audience and the ratings at the time. But created a sensation throughout the world when NBC exported it to tv channels in other countries in other countries after its run in the U.S.. It talented individuals like these that made the 1980s so memorable for youth of which I was one. It was a brilliant decade for television. American tv was at the top of its game in 1970s and 1980s.
About Knight Rider...back in the '80s there was a Greek movie made with Greek actors and it was filmed (if i am not mistaken) mostly in my hometown Thessaloniki. The film was a parody/comedy of Knight Rider and it was called PSIT (the "I" is pronounced like the english letter E). It was a nice movie for its time. :)
I like how you were playing the music to the game music the whole way through. At first I didn't notice it then I realised what it was. The game is also a great game. I've got both of them.
Knight Rider will always be one of my favorite shows. Yes, it is quite trashy when looking at it today, the quality is low even when compared other 80s shows, but that formula of comedy, action, and that car that has a real relationship with his driver is just really good. It has to be said that in German the voice of KITT had a lot more personality and was a lot warmer and likeable, which is why I always watch this show in my native language when I want to rewatch it (I usually watch everything in its original English language). Bonnie was never Michael's love interest by the way. Yes, he tried a few times early on, but that stopped rather quickly, the producers realized that it's not a good idea and none of the main characters ever getting funky with each other is something I really appreciate. Knight Rider is also one of the few shows that got better every season. Seasons 3 and 4 are by far the best and the season 4 opener double episode Knight of the Juggernaut is my favorite episode. Super Pursuit Mode was a bit unnecessary, but I still liked season 4 the best.
I have 2 favorite parts of this video.. 1. when they are playing chicken and optimus carr goofy's off the road (seriously made me LOL).. and the ending theme song once the credits rolled.. another great one, guys
I don't remember how old I was when this aired in Germany, but this show was what turned little me into a car enthusiast. I know I wanted a car like KITT that talked back to me.
Really enjoyed your video. Bought back a lot of good memories - particularly about how awesome 80s TV was back then. We always gathered around to watch Knight Rider. I'm glad you mentioned how the show started to wane in later seasons - you're absolutely right, I always laughed because whatever update Kitt was getting in the first minutes of the episode was of course exactly what Michael would need in the final situation whatever it was. Terrible. I remember when Kitt as made fireproof and of course, Michael and Kitt are caught in flames in the climax - oh wow! thank goodness Kitt had that fireproofing installed earlier on. LOL. Those were the days though. We had this, and of course the A-Team, MacGyver, Magnum, Airwolf etc... No they def don't make them like they used to.
I've always loved the idea that the car industry just looked back to this show for new ideas what cars could do. Car phones, on board computers, GPS, automatic braking, line correction, self-parking, etc.
Oh, man. I remember seeing KITT at some car show back in the 80's and you could stand in line to sit in the driver's seat and have your picture taken and he even talked, I guess some dude using a radio or something did his voice, and you could briefly converse with him. I distinctly remember asking if I could push the button for the ejector seat and KITT told me not to do it because it was very dangerous and I could get hurt because I didn't have Michael's training.
Knight Rider and Airwolf, me and my older brother loved watching those 2 shows after coming home from school in the afternoon. There was also M.A.S.H. which we didn't like that much, A-Team and McGyver, which we also like but usually had mom tell us to go outside to play, too much TV would make our eyes square shaped. Which of course we believed to be true, why would your mother blatantly lie to us boys right ? Fun early and mid 80's times. Truly miss it
A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf, Dukes of Hazzard, McGyver, Magnum PI, Simon and Simon, Quantum Leap. Yup, we young dudes had it pretty sweet (and the ladies made out ok too with those kick-ass leading men).
My favorite episode is Knightmares. It is like a second Pilot, but this time it is only one episode long and the story, filming and production is like the series was. The pilot was more darker and grittier then the Series ever was. Second would be Soul Surviver or Trust doesn't rust, i can't decide between those two.
Being an arrogant cocky teenager I never saw the show I thought it was below me Obviously I have grown up after all these years I was foolish enough to miss the entire show completely 😖which I regret after seeing this video Chances are that I'll be able to catch up with a few good episodes of this amazing 1980s TV Adventure series The truth is I did like the theme intro music was amazing even now 2022
Is that Herbert Jefferson Jr.? in there? Really underrated actor. It's really interesting to hear of how K.I.T.T's features have become standard for 21st century cars, just as wireless communications and gadgets from the original 1960s Star Trek, influenced modern day electronics. That line about Garth Knight looking like a pimp...🤣
Knight Rider is such a product of the 80s that there's no way to revive it in any way that would actually work. It would need a full-blown reimagining akin to what Battlestar Gallactica got.
For those who love the show? Search in YT for "Knight Rider Historians" They are fan-made? But may as well be official. It's chock full of content from the original actors, KIIT itself and all its parts, Even the Semi from the show! I def recommend checking it out!
In "Scent of Roses", he's not getting married to a new lover, but a very old one, the fiance' of Michael Long, Stevie. One of my favorite episodes was when he went to help her out of a jam titled "White Bird".

They had a night rider day in vegas w several replica enthusiasts displaying their kitts on fremont street. Also, it was on national corn dog day. Best day ever!
Watching this reminded me when I was a kid, maybe 9 years old in 1985 or so, they had brought [a] "KITT" as a promo exhibit in Greece and I begged my father to take me there even though I had found out last moment. He drove me and we arrived late, it had closed for the night and I probably cried a bit. I just wanted to see the car, I don't even know if David Hasselhoff was there too. I mostly cared for the car anyway. I don't remember much, it was 4 decades ago. Wish my father was still alive so I could go and ask him what happened. He died in 2021 sadly.

Now I live in Germany, and once a year there's a big U.S. car show in my city, with old classic cars, muscle cars, Back to the Future DeLoreans, and, of course, at least two or three people come with their really awesome K.I.T.T. replicas. They put so much love and work into making them look totally authentic to the show, and each time I get to see them and peek inside, I remember that cool day from my childhood, where I believed I actually got to meet our favorite TV car. 😊
I'm German, so, by birthright, I have to love the Hoff.
April was cool. The technician character expanded when she joined as she got more involved with the cases. That continued when Bonnie returned.
Yah I don't know why he said she sucked. Season 2 was the show's highest rated season.
this was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I didn't get to see the whole series until quite recently
You said DVDs but I think it's important to mention they are on blu ray as well. And boy does this very 80's show look good in HD.
I love these videos! Have to correct that Stevie was not a "new lover", she appeared in two previous episodes and had been Michael Long's girlfriend years before. Fun fact, the actress who played Stevie married a man named Michael Knight later in real life.
Exactly! Stevie Mason (in story) was Michael Long’s fiancé.
Oh how I loved this show growing up, I was obsessed with Kitt I even had a miniature version of Kitt (hot wheels)
I too love this show, and I have the Hot Wheels version of KITT, in his basic form, and in his kickass Super Pursuit Mode form.
I got kitt in my driveway, took 5 long years to restore a 3rd gen Pontiac firebird, and build kitt.
me too back in 80s i was in middle school & high school later 80s decade.. used to watch this show & NEVER missed the episode , loved that car the most
When my Mom and I moved to Trinidad to be with my Dad, it was a month or so after Knight Rider began. It was my favorite show on television. So nostalgic *but* so good.
This show is still the bomb today.
Mulhare's voice was like honey on velvet. No wonder the ladies were so taken.
back in ‘85 i got to sit in the driver seat of Kitt at a car convention in my city. ill never forget that day, especially since william daniels was there actually speaking to me through the car 😎
There's a strong chance that car still exists. They've restored it, and owned by Knight Rider Historians.
Bullshit
I was 16 when this arrived and I loved it. Then you had many great shows, now.....
I clearly remember the brilliant promos the summer before it came out…just the music and the front of the car coming at with with the Ceylon lights ‘a flashing. Really got you intrigued!
This series was a mega hit in Bangladesh during the late 90s and early 2000s
Just recently started buying the Knight Rider season's from Amazon and I am enjoying them immensely! I only got a few glimpses of the show when I was a kid cause our Cable was limited, though I remember Battle Star Galatica being on a lot. Re-living the times when I was a kid in the 80's through great shows like this, I miss that decade. . . .
My 3 Reasons to watch Knight Rider (in this order):
1) KITT
2) Patricia McPherson
3) The Hoff
Good show watched as a kid reminded me of the stunts of dukes of Hazzard ..another show I grew up watching in the 80s..
Since every attempt to reboot 80's hits has failed, I hope, they don't mess with this classic. It lives in my childhood memories where it belongs.
They already tried it, with a Mustang, in 2008. It ran for 1 season.
Amazing presentation. A labor of love!!
Watching the old show today I am so damn amazed KITT had a yok steering wheel!
Manimal ! I,d totally forgotten about that show . It was awesome
When it comes to a reboot of Knight Rider, I would add that it needs to be set in the 1980s. It's a moral imperative.
What a gem of a channel! 🥰
The humor in shows like Knight Rider and A Team made them extra great.
I have 2 favorite parts of this video.. 1. when they are playing chicken and optimus carr goofy's off the road (seriously made me LOL).. and the ending theme song once the credits rolled.. another great one, guys
Knight Rider was one of my favorites in my childhood days.
Michael Knight, a loner on a crusade. Knight Rider was an awesome show.
Awesome Work Buddy 👍 Greetings from Helsinki Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸
Your welcome
It will always be a the "General Lee" & "K.I.T.T." at the top off the list, no question!
Dude, thank you for the great Transformers - The Movie - references. This music alone takes me back to childhood. Stand Bush - The Touch :)
I don't remember how old I was when this aired in Germany, but this show was what turned little me into a car enthusiast. I know I wanted a car like KITT that talked back to me.
Knight Rider A Team and Airwolf The.Holy Trinity of 80s action shows
Really enjoyed your video.
Great show, we were spoilt with the car stunts on TV shows back in the day, Knight Rider, A Team, Dukes, Fall Guy, etc.... Good times!!!
I see Knight Rider coming on every weekday on television. The only problem is that it comes on Telemundo.
Great video. Thanks for this!
Yes bring Knight Rider back but do it right now.
Being an arrogant cocky teenager I never saw the show I thought it was below me
Obviously I have grown up after all these years
I was foolish enough to miss the entire show completely 😖which I regret after seeing this video
Chances are that I'll be able to catch up with a few good episodes of this amazing 1980s TV Adventure series
The truth is I did like the theme intro music was amazing even now 2022
I loved this show as a kid!
Great video, thanks for all the research. I hope that one day a great script comes along and make it a kick ass show once again
Great Paul Frees was the second Voice of KARR in "K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R." - a 3rd-season episode of Knight Rider
my Favorite tv show ever . i remember always waiting when i could see the newest episode. Knight Rider and Macgyver was best of the best!!
MacGyver was the first show to film primarily in Vancouver, 21 Jump Street, and, The, Commish, were the first shows to film there, full-time.
For those who love the show? Search in YT for "Knight Rider Historians" They are fan-made? But may as well be official. It's chock full of content from the original actors, KIIT itself and all its parts, Even the Semi from the show! I def recommend checking it out!
Good shout-out! I love watching their vids.
More official than the official Knight Rider Channel.
In "Scent of Roses", he's not getting married to a new lover, but a very old one, the fiance' of Michael Long, Stevie. One of my favorite episodes was when he went to help her out of a jam titled "White Bird".
There are very few cars that would truly pull of the classic slickness of KITT
Ah I'm reminded of my college days with the legendary Hoff wink acting onscreen in his special beegee haircut and fonze jacket. Driving the type of car James bond himself would be jealous of. Damn good call Jo blo, I shall have to watch this episode in slow motion.
*Man I used to love this show when I was a kid! and the theme song was just awesome! Might go and rewatch it again after watching this video! lol I used to think the car was real too lol child innocence* 🚓
loved it as a kid, what a joy that was
Ah, a nice nostalgic piece of my childhood. :)
The acapella a9ng at the end is amazing!
got me at 18:59 xD !
great video man, really enjoyed it, I fucking loved the show
i loved knight rider .. and i don't think it would be the same now to bring it back
My brother met the real kitt at a car show when he was a kid and the cool thing was the guy that played kitt was talking through some kind hookup where it made it seem like kitt was real.so he sat in the car and the car talked back with the real actor talking to him.awesome!
My favorite show as a kid
KITT was such a huge inspiration for the car industrie. i use the jump function on my car al the time
