One tip I’d like to add which while general in nature is especially helpful for Hunters who don’t want to use mods: Hunters eventually accumulate a very large number of travel skills. If you want these skills on your bars where they are convenient they simply won’t all fit along with your combat skills. The excellent mod TravelWindowII can solve this problem but another way is to make use of the character’s alternate skill bar set. If you click on the teeny-tiny little up or down arrows just to the right of the skill button at the bottom-right, that will take you to your alternate skill bar set. (If you have your War Steed you might need to click twice to cycle through the mounted combat skill bar set to get to the alternate skill bar set.) The alternate skill bar set is useful for lots of non-combat things, such as food or emotes. But even non-Hunters can eventually accumulate a lot of travel skills and the alternate skill bar set is a good place to keep them. It is even possible to assign a keybind to avoid the need to click on those ridiculously tiny arrows.

Late here, but Yes!.. Travel Window mod is amazing. set any size and scroll to what you need. For others, there are wheel mods for LM pets and cosmetic, as well:)

Alo! I have a lvl 106 hunter and just started back playing after about 4 years. The change for combat surprised me, but due to having already ground out 1800 points, I could buy new legendary weapons from the store. That said, when I originally built this toon I did so with 3 elements in mind. A- I won't always be in a group B- It needs to die quickly and C- I need heals!
So, I stack the mitigation, healing and damage through all the means, if I have health restore on a pce of gear, the next gets HP, the next gets crit def, attck etc to essentially level out my character. I could solo quite a few of the raids, granted it may take me awhile, but I managed to get me hunter to heal for an amount close to what an enemy at level can do THROUGH armor, so of course, take each stat into consideration and really think of how changing something, no matter how big or small it is, it could advertly affect damage and healing.
In short, I tried to create, and with a small amount of successs, a hunter that can deal decent damage (Noted over 18k at level on crit *AVG), can tank as much as it heals and be able to keep an instance open for fellow raiders.
I mainlty spec the redline WITH elements from the blue and this allows me to be a tad mobile. I also have my skills set in the most damage dealing possible (from small attack to stun into larger attacks). Even after the changes, when I got the new sword and bow, I can still drop stuff pretty easily without dipping to more than half my health.
This all said, I can take on multiple targets, though I may need to skirt to keep the regen up, but I can usually survive at level toons up to 4 or 5 at a time.
I am NO EXPERT and not recommending anything, however if it helps someone get a more powerful hunter, then go for it!
I have logged over 4,000 hours in this game since starting in 2014 or 15. Agian, not an expert, but I think I'm pretty close to what I wanted. Oh, and a friend with a champion could still beat me in a duel, but not before I can take over half their health! If you know, champions are powerful and can usually one hit another player, and if not it can drain health, so there's that.

The other thing about Blue line is that it removes the to-hit penalty for ranged attacks while moving. Any Hunter (or other class) can fire no-induction/instant ranged attacks while moving but only a Hunter specced Blue doesn’t suffer a to-hit penalty for such attacks. To me, that is even more important than being able to use induction bow attacks while moving.
My Treebeard main is a Yellow Hunter that I have set to Deadly (0) mode. I wanted to play him Yellow for the extra challenge but once past about Level 30 he was no more difficult to play than any other Hunter spec. The extra traps provide quite a bit of AoE (although it’s mostly not pew-pew AoE and so requires more planning to use properly) and a ton of crowd control, really nice for handling Deadly mode combat. Yellow also has a number of simple boosts which add to evade and mitigations which make up for the lower direct DPS compared to Red. Yellow is also especially nice when in a group that isn’t demanding that your DPS be absolutely optimal because of the crowd control and other support abilities (such as being able to remove debuffs from your entire group with one skill cast).

I also play as a blue hunter for the same reason, the mobility. I am interested in yellow also because I like the idea of decoys and traps, but one thing that would make it a more fun class is if yellow line could get mobile stealth. Then it would make the trapper feel more like a ranger. It would be neat I think.

Plus that way you could have blue line for speed and mobility, red for stationary high crit dps, and yellow for stealth / traps.

I started playing the yellow tree, followed by the red one. I actually prefer red for "normal" difficulty and signature monsters, while i MUCH prefer yellow for elite's (all solo) because yellow gives me much more control AND i'd argue that if you can make monsters walk through your traps you may actually deal more damage than red, all while being super safe.

I have and still play quite a few mmo's.. This game's classes are excellent. I can't say that any of them are bad, heh. Many of them are pretty unique:) Regarding the Yellow line. For my Blue line I utilize it for the bleeds and survivability:) Very good addition to Blue w/red and yellow. Yellow line is also excellent as a pre-setup for dungeons/raids! Setup all the awesome traps, then switch to your main line for maximum carnage!😂
P.S. I'd love to see some higher lvl builds for the different classes; as well, when possible, as things have changed:) edited for P.S.

As a 14year hunter I don't play blue at all I have a red single target build, red AOE build, yellow build for boss 3 in Throne of the Dread Terror and a mitigation build for t3+ content. I trait for high crit and dev magnitude so I don't need to move around because nothing really gets to me and if something does, they are dead with the next shot. I personally don't want to give up the extra range and damage in red line because the damage difference is not a small amount it's over 10% due to blue line being a survival line not a max DPS line. I one shot most targets so running in blue for me makes no sense for my style of game play.

Yep! Though differnet servers have different populations and most are older so they are "end-game" heavy in terms of population. But it's single player these days so you don't need other peeps to play :)

Is there large difference if I want to play human instead of elf?

    • @Renfail
      @Renfail  Рік тому +1

Nope; the stat differences are miniscule at best considering gear makes up like 99% of the bonuses, so it's mostly about your roleplay preference and/or cosmetic preference!
