- My first Minarelli Hybrid build gets to stretch it's legs.
I still have allot of work to do to the bike before posting the full video and going on a nice long adventure ride, but I wanted to make sure you all got to see the first ride of a Minarelli on the channel :)
The cylinder I'm using is the stock 70cc Minarellie conversion kit by DLH Performance.

Some context:
When I bought the Ported cylinder from DLH Performance he also sent me this stock cylinder, so I could both learn and make mistakes with this one before moving onto the more expensive cylinder.
This will also allow us to compare this stock cylinder to his ported cylinder.

He's already helped me see a few flaws that I can work on , this will help future customers get a better product and mostly have a better experience, and my customers being excited ,A thrill on thier face , the adrenaline they experience, proud they built it with my kits , or satisfied with a complete build from me . Lahover is the only thorough motorized bicycle channel that gets me exited to watch...!!!!
I think if both parties (yourself and lahover) support each other in a professional manner, both parties can and will grow rapidly... I'm sure I'm not the only one tired of buying inferior engines and I am willing to pay more for a superior product....!!!!

I think every bike has an air leak. People only notice it when the bike is newly finished. I'm STILL fighting air leak issues on mine. Bought some beefier clamps for my custom intake but, it's been too cold here to prioritize that job, simple as it is. Can't wait for +50 F weather to return.
They are just about the most annoying thing to deal with! I hope it's just a crank seal, because right now I can't find the stupid leak lol

It must be the same leak that was giving me issues with the G4, so I hope it's just a crank seal or something easy.
Right air leaks suck is it maby the same carburetor I had a carburetor do that before to

I been tinkering with the CG engines since 2009 bur have taken a few years off feom them and am just now slowly getting back in the game.
Ice got 6 bikes and all need work plus Im fixing to build one for my wife... one ride and she was hooked...LOL
Anyway my motor biker brother... keep up the great work and most of all stay safe wndnif the world dont go to hell in a hand basket maybe some day I could venture over your way from here in central Texas and rip a trail with you in one of those beautiful areas you always ride... that would be a blast.

I had the same problem with the clutch when it hit the pipe on Minarelli and really I had to tighten the spring on the inside and it fixed it I love it keep up the good videos

@@LAHover IT was the ground wire on the coil. It looked like it was just stuck to a ball of solder and fell off. I have had my little Indian engine for 13 months now, and have put almost 3000 miles on it.
Of course the 'dog didn't die'.Clipped the nose hairs a bit with the tire to teach it not to bite at the tires.Sheesh people....Bike sounded great LA.The 10-13 HP can't be handled by the standard clutch,I guess.I watched a racer have the same slippage problems.The torque must be Awesome.Keep on doing what you do.TY.

Hey sounds good and definitely be proud of the weld you did cause everyone says it’s not hard and it’s easy but it’s not that easy to do and it’s hard to get good at something you do once in a while that is mostly a repetitive motion ability, if that makes sense. Anyway you did real great with the build I personally would like it if you tightened the inner spring up first before you use the new super clutch, just to see how much of a difference there is between how it comes with preload and what you can crank it up to with another thread or two exposed on the threaded shaft for clutch. O well great job lookin forward to seeing more and I will be picking up some new top end kits from the post office cause I ordered a couple saw cylinders and a 50cc rebuild kit too. But since I started this hobby I have always wanted to build a Frankenstein motor kinda like Kevin’s but not a husky I am goin to build a ms460 big bore n a ms660 too I figured two different ones since I got so many bottom ends sittin here anyway. For now I’m just recovering my wife and I got Covid from our lil germ factory we named Peyton. Have a good one ttyl.

Thanks! I was sweating bullets on that pipe knowing that mistakes mean removing header length, and that means less bottom end... I got SUPER lucky!
I'll be tightening the preload before moving to the Super clutch this week.

sweet thanks for the video! i get my Zeda 80 & screaming demon gas bike sometime next week, ill also be welding my jog pipe just like yours probaly not as clean LOL...Did you use any brackets for support on the exhaust?
I'll be keeping an eye on your channel for that build :D I would love to see what the Jog pipe can do on a Zeda 80. Might be great, might not do much, but will be good information for sure so good luck!
I have the Jog strapped to the frame for support, but I'll be reusing the brackets that came with it soon.

You may want to upgrade your cdi. The minarelli guys say you lose power with that cdi. I was going to get it bc of the key but they swayed Mr against it and got a goodboy cdi and it's a difference from stock. I have a regular minarelli like you have and also an Athena. Thank you for sharing your first minarelli experience. You Def need dlh saf clutch on there. You'll never be able to hit the powerband you'll Rev it to death.

Mirrycle makes a decent bike mirror in my opinion, just adding a rubber washer to the left right adjustment makes a lot of difference, so it doesn't vibrate around.

Awesome build buddy as always.... how does it feel compared to the phantom 85:...it sure sounds good and you can tell it's got lots of power it moves really easy with hardly any throttle
The minarelli's mid and high end power is stronger, and hits harder than the phantom. The Phantom 85 has insane low end power compared to this.
But I think if the Phantom 85 had a pipe it might be a different story.

Use gasket makers for the air leak works really really good just use the high temp one

Not for this cylinder, 100% stock port work on the case, adapter, and cylinder.
I will be matching the bottom end when I moved to the DLH ported cylinder.
So what do you think is it worth it? If so can you please tell me what kit you got. Ty la hover u da man
Right now I'm just testing/learning with a stock Minarelli cylinder before moving onto the DLH Ported cylinder.
So far it's a night and day difference in power compared to a standard G4 cylinder!
But welding and mounting the pipe was not fun, and I need to find this annoying air leak before I can start reviewing the kit. Will know soon :)
Just a suggestion because I have a g2 reed and know that they have air leaks just ditch the g2 and put the minarelli reeds on
I'm going to try to make it work, but I see what you are talking about... A bit of a pain to work with. As far as I can tell mine is sealed, but tracking down this air leak is annoying!
Also what's the top speed?
Not sure if I'll have the balls to push it to it's top speed. But it's fast!

Based on your work, 1: your heat was too low on your machine. 2: your travel speed was too slow (high bead crown is indicative). No undercut (depressions along each side of bead edge) that I saw, so your staying long enough to fill the weld 'puddle', but not continuing along the work piece, hence the high crown. But for someone that's never welded before? That wasn't bad at all! Practice makes perfect! Find some junk metal, buy a bunch of wire and just practice. When I'm welding with 3/32 stick wire (I'm assuming that's what you're using as well, unless it's a Flux Core Machine) I generally set the machine at around 85-90 Amps...it's not hard...

I have the SAF super clutch I'll be installing soon.
@@LAHover spray water at all potential leak points with a spray bottle while it is idling.
try to localize it just spraying one point at a time. When your engine bogs, that's the leak spot.

Why would you buy a non ported cylinder fro dlh....... U can get them cheaper off ebay if ported I'd understand
It came as a package Mike at a fair market price with the bonus of it all drilled and ready to go with head plus a spacer package ,LA Hover recived 2 complete kits one ported and one none ported , I never sell none ported cylinders Kits , but other vendors sell the kit none ported for a simular price to my all ported ready to go plug and play kits and one kit was sent none ported for LA to test
My bad guys, I often make the mistake of assuming viewers have seen my previous videos. And it did not help that I was not able to add my normal commentary...
I have the DLH ported cylinder ready to go, but he gave me this stock cylinder too so I could compare them against each other.
