Great exercises. Giving me some great ideas of what to practice. If I only had the chops for them! Lol

I always used to have a solid High G, but then quite playing all the time. I had a big show with very tricky E to High E in 2 songs. At the end of 2 different songs(same arranger) ending da ta DEE. Very tricky on my horn, so I thought. My High E was hard to play in tune. Since I am retired I made a concentrated effort to play my building the high register book by Bud Brisbois every day before shedding the parts that needed work. When I play Bud's book I have used it to build to High G by taking it up an octave where applicable. I played so much that I ended up with a Screaming High A, and even a very respectable DoubleC. My problem is: When I was 2 years old I had hernia surgery. I am currently sitting in my recliner recovering from hernia surgery. I play with correct technique. I just have to figure out if I caused this by playing my trumpet so much or going to the gym every day or a combination of both. Good video BTW

Hey, Bob! I hope you’re having a comfortable recovery right now! I can’t be certain as to the reason someone might get a hernia - I do know a few trumpeters who’ve gotten them from playing, but that doesn’t sound like you. It sounds like you’ve really built your upper register very solidly! I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Jeremy, I didn't have a question for you prior to this, but of course now I remembered what it should be. Have you ever dealt with or helped a player with the issue of a double buzz? There is a intermittent second resonance at certain notes/frequencies inside the mouthpiece that drives me nuts. Help?

Hey there! A long time ago it would happen to me from time to time, but it depended on many different factors. Quick questions for you: does it only happen to you on certain pitches? Or does it only happen at a certain volume, like forte or pianissimo? Also does it feel like it’s sounding that way on the other side of your bell, or only in the mouthpiece?

@@jeremymilos Gosh, I would say it happens mainly in my mid range and mf volume. It would usually go away at higher volumes. Yet sometimes it would pop in above top staff G. It sounds like it is coming out the bell, though I definitely hear it and feel it in the mouthpiece. I usually experience this when I have taken a break from playing and I am getting my chops back. Though that may just be my answer in that I need to keep up playing consistency.

Jeremy I have a tuning question
A lot of my fav players have amazing sounds! But when I take the tuner to them, many are not in tune yet sound incredible !
Must we play perfectly in tune or is there a discrepancy in intonation with the upper reg on the trumpet
