Rockwood/Flagstaff RV Factory Tour!! (Part 2: Mini Lite & Micro Lite)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Thank you for joining us for part 2 of our visit to the Rockwood/Flagstaff production facilities! Today we tour thru the Rockwood Mini Lite factory where its sister the Flagstaff Micro Lite is also produced.
Rockwood and Flagstaff are quite literally the same thing if you weren't previously aware & this video series is a great way to see that!
We walk thru their production line from start to finish seeing a lot of "under-the-skin" details and unseen processes along the way. Overall I'm really impressed with what I see here on these RVs vs. even many of the other factory tours I've enjoyed!

Oh, Josh, I'm laughing so hard!!! Perfect Yoda!!!
So I recorded this a few weeks ago and have done a BUNCH of videos since.. I need to see where I did this Yoda impression folks keep mentioning... have a minute marker??

When so many other RV's are cutting corners it's nice to see flagstaff and rockwoods are built with integrity.
Those worker should be proud of the product they make, very well done
thank u very much for this Rockwood factory tour. much appreciated !
Our pleasure!
Thanks Josh, I have enjoyed your factory visits over the last couple years. Its good to see that Rockwoods look as good where you can't see as it does where you can.
Learned a lot about quality, not parts slapped together for the heck of it, but the time taken to build a quality camper to last. Thanks, Josh. :)
Add an accident Rockwood and Flagstaff earned the DSI quality award this past year despite all the industry challenges
Great video! I am in my 2021 Mini Lite 2104s watching this and it was neat to see how they are built
Great rig! You did well!
Josh... I really appreciate these product tour videos and the thoroughness in which you approach them! You're the best in the business!

TY Dan!
Josh, fixing a problem early is a great idea. I’m sad everyone does not do it this way
Agreed
Josh you have really shown how really well these are built and impressed me with their campers. I said before we are getting close to retirement and this is on our minds to travel when the time comes. Being it is just the two of us now as the kids are grown and kinda scattered this to us would be the best way to go and be in no rush to be anywhere. Thanks so much for your time you put into this and when the time comes we might just have to make a trip to see you for our camper. You have defiantly helped out for sure. Thanks!
Thx for sharing something positive James
You weren't kidding when you said you were a night owl this was posted real late into the morning
Yeah I had it scheduled to come out around 9 or noon or something today
Was up late last night remotely logged into my work PC doing some catch up
While scheduling another video for release I accidentally bumped to go button on this one and was like "well.. now that cat's out of the bag" lol
Josh, I have watched this video four times now. Each time I do......I get even more and more impressed! That is one heck of a well built camper! Impressive!!!! Those weld points are so well flooded, the "stitching" of staples in the vinyl floor is awesome, talk about holding strength. I can't begin to think of how many of those staples they must use in a day, they must have a machine gun stapler LOL. I'm a real wood fanatic and I am REALLY impressed with the quality of wood used. Thank you for these factory tour segments you do!
I know I've founded like a Rockwood fanboy this year but seriously.. they have EARNED my admiration
Just purchased a Rockwood 2205. Waiting to take deliver. Now I know I bought the best camper for me. Thanks for the info.
Hope you enjoy it! Mind dropping me a quick review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review for the helping hand?
Thanks Uncle Josh, these factory tours are fascinating! ‘Rockwood, the hold my beer of rv’s’ 👍🏻
lol - Glad you enjoyed it
I like that you toured the Rockwood and Flagstaff facilities concurently, saves lots of time.
Actually did them over a two day span!
Thank you very much for taking the time because I really wanted to see how the tanks are supported and held in place.
Hope it was helpful! :)
You are a natural content maker Josh! Thanks for the tremendous amount of work on these, have a great weekend 👍🇺🇸
TY Alan :)
Great job on this, Josh! Fascinating.
The brand new 2109s models have a lot of cool new features that my 4 year old did not.
The enclosed bellies are nice for many reasons...but I do miss being able to crawl under and inspect hoses, wires, etc. ....Can't do that now!
One thing that struck me is the use of Azdel on the vertical walls....but the roofs remain wooden skinned. Conversely, my 2018 2109s uses "Lamilux" siding...luaun plywood sandwiched over foam, then fiberglassed and gel-coated. So far, no problems with that. I had a 2018 Winnebago Micro Minnie for a few months before I traded it in for the larger Rockwood...and THAT rig had THE BEST skin I've ever seen! Perfectly flat, smooth, glossy and shiny like a new Cadillac...not grainy or wavy looking like my 2018 Rockwood.
I wish my 2018 2109s had that nice fiberglass front cap....snazzy! Mine has the rounded laminate front that was used for a few years...no problems with that and a GREAT front windshield- except that the painted, tan-colored vertical stripes are very subject to fading, despite my constant use of "303". BTW, please suggest to Rockwood that they standardize a light BLOCKING pull-down shade on that front window. My OEM pleated one just doesn't get the job done if there is a bright light nearby...or an early bright sunrise! I had to add a 2nd shade.
I've had to replace all of the black vinyl screw cover trim strips...everywhere. All of it cracked down the middle and fell apart. Its cheap to replace and not too hard, however. The brand new 2109s models have a lot of cool new features that my 4 year old does not have. But- we've towed our 2109s all over the USA now and its had no serious problems whatsoever! And 3 trailers ago, we had a 2012 Flagstaff 25KS Micro Lite that we towed cross country and back twice with no major issues. I would definitely buy another Rockwood Mini Lite or Flagstaff Micro Lite!
I agree. The improvements they’ve made have been great!
It says a lot to me that a manufacturer allows you to come into their factory and show the entire manufacturing process. 👍 Thanks for taking us behind the scenes🙏
I agree. Nothing to hide
Thank you for the tour Josh and Rockwood. I have been eyeballing the 2109s and 2205s. Might be a few years before I'm ready, but I already know that I want to purchase a Rockwood from Haylett RV. The goofy guy with all the knowledge seems like someone I can trust : )
TY :)
Thank you Josh and thank you Rockwood!!! Love our 2511s, very happy with the build quality of the Mini Lite.
I cannot believe how many of your videos I've watched while writing code... Your voice and delivery is surprisingly nice background noise.
Wow TY! What type of coding? I have a bachelors in computer science and dabbled in some coding but it was never my thing
Josh....wow...WOW!!!! That was a heck of great video!!! Deserves a Academy Award for best Travel Trailer factory tour! Now I am impressed with the Rockwood! LOVE that they use Azdel inside and out.....that is a Lance feature at a Rockwood price. Loved the weld points I could see, the floor with three inch alum. channels with wood inserts, plywood flooring (no beaver puke) was impressive. I was really impressed with the roofs plywood seams......they were seamless!!! Rockwood Micro Lites are on the top of the list for me. Excellent video....thank you Josh!
Again, I'm very fascinated. Amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice to see how our new delivered in July 2021 RW 2507S was made by high quality components and builders ! We love our MiniLite !!!!
Josh.... we are in the market and REALLY close to getting a micro lite..... WOW ..I'm impressed!! THANK YOU!!
They’re absolutely great models. They give me tons of confidence.
Allsome very interesting love your factory Tours
Outstanding once again. Getting to see the difference in the tire package side by side up close, glad I went with the sport tire package on my ordered Flagstaff.
I also like the sport package giving the rig a few more inches of lift/ground clearance but what deterred me was when you do this you don’t get the Goodyear tires. Just my 2 cents.
The more I learn about it the more I become excited about it
@@wcassells7315 True, but swapping out the tires isn't that big of a deal either. I'm sure the tires are comparable.
@@wcassells7315 looks like the trailer rated Westlake off road style tires- the only true trailer rated off road tire on the market. It’s a perfectly good tire and will give as good of service as the Goodyears.
thanks Josh. You made my choose harder.
Not sure if I should thank you or apologize or both or .. lol :)
Thank You for this ! It’s greatly appreciated
You're very welcome!
Thank you. We appreciate your view
Thank you so much!
Ordered a 2506s first week of February still no word, I've watched every video on UA-cam that has to do with mini lights, so watching this video means so much to me, thank you for all the hard work you do, you help all of us to understand the rv world alot better.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a long wait but that also means you’re now in 2022 territory so that’s something at least!
Nice to see pride in work is not dead.quality looking products.
There's a few places you really see it in the industry
Cedar Creek for instance
We don't carry them, but we've come close a few times
I feel they're among the best built fifth wheels (or RVs period) I've ever seen. Ever.
We purchased a 2012 Micro Lite 2109 used three years ago. Good to know the quality is there so we can do a few upgrades for resale value down the road!
This video makes me want a Rockwood TT, they take pride in their work 👍👍👍👍
Thank You JOSH and Thank You Rockwood, I appreciate all of your work with Rockwood and taking the time to inform all of us how they are made. Beautiful Job
Thank You again
Terry & Lorna Hickok
Our pleasure :)
Great video! It easy to harp on manufacturers for quality and condition. I learned a lot about how my Mini Lite was made and gained a lot of respect for Rockwood and it’s employees through this video. Next time you swing by the factory, please tell the employees thank you for us! 🙏🏻
I won’t say they or any other mfg are perfect but they’re definitely one of the exception to a LOT of rules out there
Thanks Josh hopefully we will be able to order a Flagstaff 25bds in our future. You always do awesome video please keep them coming all of us out here love your time and consideration and effort thks
You got it!
Thank you! Now i just have to be patient till mine is built
Just returned from our 4th RV trip in 4 months to 4 different states (LA, MS, AL & FL) with our new Micro Lite 25BRDS; therefore, I just saw this excellent video. There's nothing like a quiet Sunday morning before the kiddo wakes up, and getting to enjoy my coffee with a new Haylett video. As I have the exact unit you featured in this video, you efforts were really appreciated. As my unit came highly optioned out, I only see 2 additional things I would have liked. The 1st is the addition of a 2nd solar panel and the 2nd is the optional 15" wheel package. Thank you Josh (and Rockwood/Flagstaff) for making this video series possible.
:)
I’m still two years away from getting my trailer. Thanks to your videos and some other sources I’ve already decided on the Mini Lite 2205S. I just wish they would make it in a 26 foot length to add more room to the bathroom. Love the videos and all the information you provide Josh!
Thank you for all your efforts, super appreciated. I'm new to all of the RV world. Might be picking up a family lightly used one here soon. Every video you put out helps me be that much more prepared to know what were getting into. Thank you so much for your time and efforts, its not going unnoticed.
TY Cory! If you're a member of any sort of camping groups on social media I'd love it if you could share this sometime! :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd absolutely, it may be a while but sharing my experience and short comings might be fun. Maybe a small parody on how you show us all around a RV, just kidding. You do a great job and look to have fun doing it. Thank you again
Part two was just as good as part 1! On to Part 3!
:)
Ty for saying this. You’d be surprised how infectious a little positivity like this is
Seriously keeps me going
I love my 2018 micro Lite and they just get better and better.
That was a good year for those. I loved the color schemes they had
Actually 2018 was about my favorite color package from this group until the 2021 season
Great video and tour of a great name in the RV world. I appreciate the time and effort you give to bring this knowledge to us.Thanks Josh.
Our pleasure!
This video was amazing. Things had fallen into place, and I'm about to purchase a Flagstaff Microlite (if I wasn't 1,700 miles away I would've come to you first). Seeing this confirms that we made a great choice. Your videos educate and I am very grateful you do these. Keep it up!!
Congratulations on the great RV!
I'm late to the game, but great video, Josh!
Well ty!
Rolling earthquake is a great comparison. Love it. Thanks for the insight.
With a hurricane outside!
So glad to see the consistency and the work quality. We just purchased a used 2021 Flagstaff 21DS. Definitely felt better built than any other like sized camper we toured. But now we know it doesn’t just “feel” well built. It is. We’re very fortunate that we lucked into a brand new, “used” rig. Can’t wait to get out and use it next week! 😎
Wow, man. Nice job. Those late model ones like that come and go so far. Good timing on your part and recognizing a good opportunity when you see it!
Loved learning about this model as we are taking a hard look at this one as our next rv. Had no idea about water filtration.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you again Josh. This will be our next rv!
Great choice! Mind dropping me a review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review if this was helpful? Would really appreciate it!
@@JoshtheRVNerd Done! Keep up the excellent work 👍👍
Watching from Nova Scotia Canada. We sold our 5th Wheel and plan on ordering a Rockwood mini light (2506s). You do a great job on your vides, we have watched many of them and we are feeling comfortable with our choice because of your videos. Wishing you were closer so could buy from you.
Keep on being honest and upfront it's what the consumer needs
Ty Stephen!!
Very well done!
Amazing see an learn so much from factory tours an I likeing how the walls are made
Glad you like them!
Love your videos, I will be purchasing a Rockwood largely because of your enthusiastic and informative mini movies thank you 😊.
Great choice, Glenn
Thank you Josh, I own a Rockwood Signature & have enjoyed the tour! Keep up the good work !!
We love your commentaries! You are thorough, funny, and realistic regarding pros and cons of these products in every video you make. We purchased a Rockwood 2204S based on your coverage of the Rockwood mini lite factory tour. We look forward to future videos from you. Thanks for all the time and effort you take to produce quality videos.
I try! Thank you! Mind dropping me a review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review by chance?
I just sold my 10 year old Rockwood Signature Ultra lite 34 foot never had a failure of any kind except my fault the electric tung Jack that I broke. Excellent trailers. Would definitely buy again.
Ty for sharing
As a future Mini Lite owner l love watching these. Awesome
Which model?
@@JoshtheRVNerd 2511
Great video.
Great video Josh.. The closet that had the ribbon or flag from quality control. The back wall had a big gap at the ceiling on one side. So it wasn't square or plumb.. Either way they caught it.
Thanks for what you do..
You and they both seem to have better eyes than I do! :)
Great tour! Well explained lots of great details
8:16. Thank you for this very informactive video! Love all of your videos! We bought a minilite 2513 and absolutely love it! We knew it was excellent quality, but this helps appreciate the quality even more. Thank you!
This is so awesome. I was waiting all week for this video to come out which makes me a true RV nerd. Great job pulling back the curtain on how campers are built. Have a great weekend Josh!
Geo Pro next week!
Another great video Josh. Thanks for making them brother👍👍
Loved this video too!!!!
I have a whole series of factory tour videos now if you're interested!
LOL! Your Yoda impersonation was spot-on!
Nerdy I am
Thank you for taking the time to do these video’s Josh, you’re the best
If I were any better, then I would be named "Michael Bracewell"
I mean.. what are the odds...
*FAB factory tour* !! *Learned so much about the processes and the product line* !! *GREAT Yoda impersonation* !! *Rockwood/Flagstaff does a top notch job at building their trailers* !! #HaylettRVReviewsNewsAndMore
Fabulous job, as always. Thrilled to see the mini lite tour, especially as it is the model I’m waiting for!
Which was that?? 2509S
Love my 2021 mini lite 2511s. Really cool to see how it is made. It’s the reason I bought the rock wood. Aluminum and Azdel makes for a light, strong easY to maintain RV. SOME LOOSE SCREWS ON THE CABINET HARDWARE , refrigerator blew a thermo fuse, both things I took care of after Rockwood sent me the fuse. You have to be willing to tinker a bit even on a brand new rig. The dealers are so busy getting service can take weeks
Fantatic job. Thank you so much. We have a 2019 and love it. The quality shows in the final product. It helps me understand how ours is put together. Very interesting.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for your input on my purchase, and for reading and responding to so many comments! Where’s the merchandise, “cup of coffee” gift, et c?
You put a lot of time into this!
I've looked at that stuff and perhaps it's time we got into stuff like apparel
But the goal of this channel is to provide solid info with integrity to our viewers while having a little fun. I don't want to diminish any of that by providing the potential idea that we're here to sell hats and T-Shirts if that makes sense.
But yeah.. it feels like it's getting time lol
Wonderful tour Josh. Love your sense of humor. I have really enjoyed watching the process of each camper being built. You are the best.
You're awesome Barbara :)
I really appreciate your videos. thank you.
Thank you for the factory tour. I have a Flagstaff Micro Lite, Looking at the Rockwood Ultra for my retirement RV. It is fascinating to see how my current baby was made and how my future dream will be made.
Our pleasure!
Thanks for the tour. You have me now leaning more towards a Rockwood/minnie/etc. as a second RV
Nice picks :)
Oh my gosh thank you so much!
Our pleasure!!
Great tour. I cannot wait to see you tour a 2022 Rockwood mini 2513s.
Me too! Been waiting nearly a year for our first to arrive if you can believe it
Thanks for the thoroughness and the enthusiasm you put into these videos. It’s the most complete review I’ve seen anywhere! Happy camping my friend!
Ty my dude mc..dude lol
Im pretty sure the straggler was like, Imma get out of here theres a crazy guy talking to himself😁
It's true. I actually joke about that -- I get paid to just wander around and talk to myself
Which.. I mean.. is basically true
Great job, I enjoyed the tour. It was very informative on how the units are made. I feel better on purchasing a Rockwood. Keep up the good work.👍😎😎
I for one, am greatful for your efforts. See you at Bishes late July to early August.
Sounds good!!
This was a great factory tour too. Thanks for all the factory tours
My pleasure :)
Hey Josh! Another great video!! Thanks so much for educating us and going into detail with your videos!! You work so hard, and it's so appreciated. Please keep up the good work! xoxo
Really great tour. Very much appreciated!
Our pleasure!!
This tour looks great and is well done. I have a 2012 Rockwood 8280 Fifthwheel. It looks like Rockwood may have made some improvements in 10 years. Our trailer has been a night mare, tires had catastrophic failures at about 2000 miles. The brakes were inadequate. I had to turn the brakes up to maximum in order to get some braking effect and that caused the brake magnets to wear thru the brake drum, we upgraded to disk brakes to fix that problem. Then one of the torsion axles failed, it flexed/loosened upwards and only had 1” clearance from the top of the tire to the top of the wheel well. We had to replace the axles. The originals were 3500# ratting each which meant that they were near their maximum load at all times and one failed. Last year we had a frame failure. The long tail section drooped. The I-beam frame broke right at the back edge of the axle support structure requiring a significant repair. All of these failures took place after the warrantee expired so we were stuck with fixing this stuff ourselves. Interestingly, most people we talk to are happy with their Rockwood trailers, we seem to have gotten a lemon.
This was very valuable content. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Our pleasure. Thx so much for watching!!
Thanks Josh. Gives me a better aspect of how our 2516s rockwood was assembled and the quality involved . Keep up the good work.
Hi Josh I love your videos keep up the good work and all the use full information ... you make it hard to make choose between all the different models ... So thank you very much (not being clever) ... :-D
Josh, your plant tours were great! I am leaning toward Rockwood (2109S, 2204S, or 2104S), and the factory videos are very helpful. This may be my last RV and I want something that will last and perform for a t least ten years. Thanks for all the great information!
Glad to be of service. Contact one of our stores when you’re ready or if you need assistance, making that decision in narrowing it down.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Will do, Josh. My last RV was purchased 200 miles from my home. When the Lippert Ground control leveling system lost its mind it was a hassle to have it fixed, but it did get done. There is a local Rockwood dealer, but they don't have any of the models in stock that are candidates. Besides, your videos have earned our business.
Outstanding information, thank you Josh👍👍👍👍👍
I learned a LOT on this one
Wonderful - more please !!

I still have plenty to learn but I try!!
You do the best videos. Such detail.
I appreciate that! TY Lisa :)
Excellent video. Thank you Sir!

As always great job Josh!
As usual, my friend, you nailed it on this video. Great recap of the Rockwood/Flagstaff factory. We're very happy Rockwood owners ourselves and have our eye on a sliiiiiiightly larger model.
