Proud to say I’m a worker here and we put out some great units!!
What do you do there, Sean?
@@JoshtheRVNerd I’m a forklift driver. Handle things from the roof set all the way up to some thing by final finish.
@@SeanCarpenter2011 Please tell your co workers how much they are appreciated by us customers out here!!! Your efforts are a big part of why Rockwoods have such a great reputation. That, and Josh getting the word out!
Thank you Sean!, I’m a proud owner of a 2912BS! We love our Rockwood! Tell everyone thank you!
Danny from North Carolina
You guys do great work but you need to improve in plumbing and using pex the right way.
I can't believe I just watched 40 minutes of Josh....worth every second. Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
Wait, what? That was the fastest, and most fascinating, 40 minutes I've sat through.
I hate to blow up his ego, but he’s a real pro. I can’t believe I feel like I could trust an RV salesman, but I feel like I could.
Like to see fifth wheels too
Josh, you stole 40 minutes of my life…. Worth it! I believe by you educating the public on superior methods of RV manufacturing, the inferior competition has no choice but to raise the bar on their side just a little bit higher. Keep up the great work.
Just think -- 40 minutes for you was probably closer to 4hrs for me making this stuff and I pump out video pretty quickly. It's shocking how long some of this takes!
We really like that you do the tours after hours - Thank you Rockwood. I like the respect it shows to the workers and it makes that we can hear you talking.
Glad you like them! More coming!
IMHO you’re far and away the most competent RV reviewer on UA-cam, and I love your style, Josh. This factory tour is über interesting. I can’t wait to see the next installments!
If I didn’t trust you as much as I do, I’d suspect that you are secretly a Rockwood salesman or significant shareholder, that’s how your factory tour comes across for me.
I hope you can accept my comments as constructive input from a true fan who only wants the very best for his very lfavorite RV Nerd…!
Ty :)
I have been thru these lines 2-3 times prior. Really thought I knew what I was going to see and that I would sleep thru this whole thing
Then.. it’s like something was new and updated at every stop I made. I was shocked how progressive they were being
New processes
New equipment
New improvements
I felt good about them walking in
I felt great walking out
I like these videos, it’s like watching How it’s Made. Thanks Josh and Rockwood👍👍
Just with a lamer host lol :)
How it’s Made. Nerd Edition.
It's How it's Made with a Narrator that has a personality.😁
Put 3 sets of wherl on them to make the frame and flood extra strong fir big big people like me and biger toiel bows and strong bed frames a d tabels and chairs to .
Wow! So informative....able to have an in-depth tour of a facility. This precise detailed tour should be how the sales department of a dealership
informs, educates a buyer. Instead of all the marketing hype/BS. Who cares about the size of TVs, overstuffed furniture. Show a buyer the guts of a trailer which is way more important.
Thank you! Glad you joined us today :)
I'm very fortunate that I work for a team that allows and encourages me to bypass the "hype factors" and focus instead on real info and even consumer advocacy in many cases
Thank You Rockwood/Flagstaff !!
Thanks Josh for the Rockwood tour and thanks to Rockwood for letting it happen.
Gives me insight on what a quality TT I own. ☝👍✌🇺🇸
Thank you Rockwood and Flagstaff RV for allowing Josh to give a tour of your facility .
Excellent video for me that knows nothing about the subject. Thanks
Atmospheric re-entry package! That killed me, Josh! So true on the R values. Accuracy on that subject would be so helpful for those of us that will be using it in more extreme climes. As always, your honesty is MUCH appreciated.
I find it serves as a good real world reference.
OBVIOUSLY these RVs don't have that kind of insulation (nor do any of them need it), but there are some brands bent on making you believe it
As someone who has been researching as a buyer, Josh's factory tour videos are a large part of how I will make my decision on what I buy. I want to know how its made. RVs have a well deserved reputation for questionable quality. Seeing first hand the extra effort by Rockwood/Flagstaff is invaluable. This video is a marketing gold mine for Forrest River/Rockwood. Josh, I am dying for your Mini Lite and Geo Pro tours!
Yes, we are too. We have a MiniLite on order that is now going to be a 2022!!!!! Our research on the 2104s was tons and tons of UA-cam watching and Josh was our main source, because of his honesty and thoroughness. We never have been in a 2104s because they are so popular and the local dealer could not get them in and then they decided to came
Our order because they would not honor the price that we agreed on and put a deposit on after being bought out by an out of town RV
dealer. We are getting one delivered to us whenever it gets built. Keep up the good work Josh. ROCKWOODS & FLAGSTAFF ROCK!!!
@@SGarza-ht7qp Congrats on your new Mini Lite! I hate that you got screwed around by your dealer. That is the reason why we plan to order ours through Haylett even though we live in Dallas Texas. The years of positive reviews along with Josh explaining their policies towards customers sold us.
Thx for the Rockwood/Flagstaff factory tour! I learned a LOT!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks to Rockwood / Flagstaff for allowing Josh in your plant . I’ve hauled materials to you in the past now in my Senior year I’m looking at a couples camper and I’m looking at the Winnebago and also at the Rockwood I really like the way you build your walls in chassis is I definitely will be looking very close at your equipment thank you for this Josh I appreciate your time with a great video.
TY Carl :)
To the Rockwood and Flagstaff companies you’re awesome just in so many ways. How do you take care of? Your people is amazing.
Rockwood replaced both side walls and nose of our 2018 Forest River Windjammer after the fiberglass siding started to delaminate at a number of places at no cost to us! They even upgraded the toilet to a porcelain unit!!!! Great service!!
Wow. Ty for sharing
Thanks Josh and thanks to Flagstaff/Rockwood 👍👌😂 Forrest River!!
Love the indepth presentations. Thanks so much!
TY Tim! :)
Helps me feel confident in my choice of a Mini Lite
You did *well*
Thank you to Forest River / Rockwood for allowing Josh to film the factory. We ordered a 2516S in February solely based on Rockwood's reputation, Haylett's reputation, and Josh's video. Never stepped inside one until we picked it up on Tuesday! Look forward to visiting in person when tours return.
Wow! That's awesome David! LOVE that 2516S!!
Mind sharing a review for us at www.haylettautoandrv.com/review-us/ if you haven't already in return for the efforts?
@@JoshtheRVNerd Done! Great chatting with you. Thank you for making time for us.
Thanks to Rockwood and thank you for making this video
Thanks to _YOU!_
Thank you for so much info. My family is considering a travel trailer and we are uneducated about them. I now feel a lot more comfortable what we want. Thanks again
I have a playlist with multiple factory tours and another with a bunch of info like understanding different types of rv construction
Thank you to rock wood rv for allowing Josh the access to your factory to show what a quality product you make. Josh, you said there is a part 2 coming, when can we expect that video? The mini lites are one of the trailers we would eventually like to buy. Thanks for doing this!
Every friday for the rest of this month. 3 more segments coming :)
Thanks Rockwood for allowing uncle Josh into you’re building! Thank you Josh for the great video and awesome narration!
Thank you Rockwood and Josh. I am looking at purchasing a 2608BS down here in New Zealand, 12000kms from the USA at the bottom of the Pacific, and certainly appreciate this information to help me with my decision.
Rockwood! You are making my choice for a new trailer very easy.
That tour was impressive.
There are many great brands out there, but Rockwood/Flagstaff takes it up a notch ... or two ... or three!
Rockwood/Flagstaff you're doing it right.
Speaking of two or three.. we actually have three more parts to this series coming in the next few weeks!!
Thank you Rockwood/Flagstaff! We all love seeing what it takes to build the RVS we love! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is why Uncle Josh is the most awesome human in the RV world. Incredible video. Thank you for all you do! Once we are ready for an upgrade, I will absolutely heading to you from NJ. Again, thank you.
Our pleasure sir :)
Want to Thank you and Rockwood for this video.
I appreciate Rockwood allowing you to do this, Josh - Thank you
Our pleasure :)
Hey Josh , this is my first behind the scenes look at RV production, I was impressed with their attention to detail and your tenacity to gather this information in its entirety for us prospective buyers...
Thank you Flagstaff 👍
as someone in the market this video hands down makes me want a "Flagwood" over any other brand. great job
Thank you for watching! If it was helpful to you, then please consider dropping me a review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review
I like seeing how these RVs are built... I have a lot of respect for the Amish too so for me, that will be a selling point.
Thank you Haylett & Rockwood for making this factory tour possible. As an owner of a 2021 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BRDS, I am stoked about this video! Great video and so glad it's just part 1 in a series. Your analogy of the Rockwood's R-value to a Styrofoam coffee cup was pure genius and easy to understand. The in-house scales are also a great idea.
We hit up Mini/Micro lite next. I think you'll find that one even more interesting :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh YEAH!
You make me happy I bought a Rockwood pop up.😊❤
:)
Woot woot...Part 2 @ Mini Lite plant. Thank you Josh and Rockwood : )
:)
Bought a used 2017 8325SS because it not only fit our needs, but because everything else similar just didn't feel like the Rockwood. 5 year old RV's just don't hold up like the one we found.
Thanks to Josh and Forest River / Rockwood for the tour, now we know why. I do a lot of home improvement / cabinet making and understand what makes good vs great work. These are truly great work done by excellent craftspeople.👍👍👍
Thank you, Bruce!
I really enjoy your factory tours and personally like yours best if done after hours. Much better, and quieter too! Great job and please, keep making them!
Will do!
I have a few more to get like some Cherokee visits and Keystone
After that perhaps I can start cycling thru and updating footage every few years
I’ve had my Flagstaff 26RLWS for 4 years. Very well made. I’ll never own anything other than Flagstaff or Rockwood. My next will be a Rockwood Signature or Flagstaff Classic for sure. Thanks for the video. Can’t wait for the others. Great job!!!!!!
I think I even talked about it in this video -- there's almost NO brand loyalty in this industry, but once you've had a Rockwood/Flagstaff you just tend to stick with them
@7XChamps I am of the personal belief they're currently pound for pound about the best built in the market
You can certainly argue something like a Lance might have them edged here or there, but "dollar for dollar" I just don't see *anyone* beating them -- and that includes the other members of our lineup here
Damn. Those big rigs are probably worth as much as my house. While I can't personally afford something like this, it has made me think about the trade-offs that should be made between cost and quality. As a DIY (prospective) camper builder this was a real eye opener. My take-away from this was something that I've never seen any other builder do - maybe think about doing the internal fit-out before the walls or roof. It makes a stupid amount of sense.
Rockwood also has my utmost respect for the way it treats it's employees and the for the way it does business. I've worked most of my life in fabrication including structural steel, and can I say that good management and good bosses are the rarity rather than the rule. Most companies over more than a handful of employees have been toxic towards both staff and customers. It really doesn't cost much to to treat your employees well and the flow-on effect through the quality of the product is guaranteed.
Thank you Josh and thank you Rockwood! Outstanding tour, Josh!! You are the best!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved seeing how these RV'S are put together and appreciate Rockwood letting you film. I was really impressed with the care that is taken to protect the surface finishes. The piece of cardboard on the floor and the tub for tools etc.... if only that attention to detail was employed by other manufacturers. Thanks for showing us where the horses are taken care of during the day for the Amish workers. Do all the other RV manufacturers in the area do the same for their Amish workers as well? Also, was the guy sitting behind you at the end of the video waiting to shut off the lights? Love all the great information your videos provide. I wish you and yours well.🏖
I actually don’t know who that guy was. My guide from Rockwood ducked off camera every time I started recording
@@JoshtheRVNerd That guy reminded me of Walter. But in a good way! 😁 ua-cam.com/video/qcAq6fRADzI/v-deo.html
I'm just as impressed with the horse barn as I am with the rv's. Thanks for the very informative tour.
Part 2 is Live Now!! ua-cam.com/video/4MZuG_5qBqM/v-deo.html
Thanks Josh for the awesome video.
My wife and I have just purchased a Rockwood Flagstaff classic a 826MBR and the dealer here in Illinois had told us we could get a plant tour anytime we wanted it now you have just wanted us to make that trip even worse. Thanks again for the great info you made us feel even more proud on a forest river product.
You should. It’s interesting to see how the sausage is made
Just purchased a used Rockwood 2015. Very pleased. Thank you Rockwood, well done Josh.
Thx David!!
@@JoshtheRVNerd Very interesting. Do they use Azdel? Winnabego facility next?
@@Bronco2Cj Rockwood has continued to expand their azdel use
The Signature models now use it as well
Currently only their "Ultralite" mid-level trim package doesn't use azdel which sounds weird but word is they're doing that only until they burn thru their existing supply of lauan. Then they'll be double azdel across all sidewalls
Winnebago actually will not let anyone record in their facilities. I've tried for YEARS to get clearance to record in there
@@JoshtheRVNerd Good to know! thx for the heads up and its prolly safe to assume no ac off of the batts?
Thanks Rockwood. I never knew how amazing your construction is, and those Torsion axels is what made me buy my little Shadow cruiser years ago, I couldn't find another small trailer with them ... until NOW!
As usual, a GREAT indepth presentation
I knew this video was released but had not watched it. After walking through a Rockwood Ultralite at a local dealer yesterday, I watched this. I may very soon be the proud owner of a Rockwood 2608BS. What an awesome unit!!
Congratulations!! You did well I think :)
If this video was helpful in your decision making, then please consider dropping me a quick review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review in return for the helping hand!!
Thanks Josh! Just bought a Rockwood Signature 5th wheel 8288SB. This video made me feel so much better selecting a Rockwood.
Congrats! Great choice!
Mind dropping me a note at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review for the helping hand?
Thanks professor Josh. I really appreciate these field trips. Helps reinforce the classwork.
lol making me feel all special over here
I love the on going narration, thank you for educating the masses.
Ty for staying tuned in with us :)
Thanks Josh. Great video!
We just ordered our new 2022 Rockwood Mini Lite 2205s yesterday... cant wait to take delivery !
Congratulations! I hope she treats you well!
If our videos were useful to you in that decision making process, then please consider dropping us a review at www.haylettautoandrv.com/review-us/
Fantastic video. I think I found my new favorite brand. I really like the little things they do that make all the difference in the world in quality.
Thank you Josh and thank you Rockwood! Can’t wait to see part 2! We are still waiting for our Flagstaff Micro Lite 22FBS. Your video’s help us survive the wait! We love the video as we have never toured a plant! Yes, you are corny, but so is sweet corn and we love it!
Sweet Corn *IS* good...
Thank you Josh and Rockwood. Can’t wait for the mini lite video.
That one's coming next in Part 2!
Thank you Rockwood for letting us have a peek behind the curtain. ❤️
That was an amazing tour! I learned sooooo much! Thank you!
Our pleasure! Parts 3 and four coming in the next few weeks!
Hi Josh, I have learned a ton from you over the last 7 years. You obviously know your business extremely well. If it wasn't for the fact that we own an airstream we would drive how to where you are from where we are near Philadelphia and buy from you. Keep up the good work I'm sure you're very successful! Tom
Ty Tom. Love having you in our channel regardless of whether or not we’ve had you as a customer :)
We just bought a 2021 Flagstaff 26 FKBS, and I am delighted to know what went into it! At two years of age, our trailer is just as beautiful as the day it was made, and that speaks to the high quality craftsmanship that went into it. I am confident we will have a trailer we can enjoy for many years to come! Thanks, Rockwood/Flagstaff for showing us what you do to ensure a great product goes out the door. Thank you to the expert crafters of our Home Sweet Home on Wheels! Great job! I love everything about it!
Great pick!
My wife and I are full time rv'ers, and I am a transporter. We just wanted to say... we really enjoy your videos.
That is awesome! TY for saying something :)
What kind of RV do you have/enjoy?
We have an Open Range Bunkhouse. It's suits the family size and year round living.
Loved the tour makes me want a Flagstaff! Good job Josh! Steve in SC
That's an 8324SB. We've been waiting for this series!
:)
Next Part next friday!
Thanks. I'm impressed and educated at the same time. That helps me make decisions on what to buy.
😊
Awesome, cant wait for the Minis and Micro Lites
Thanks Rockwood & Haylett. I do like that they weigh every individual unit>
Great vid as always uncle Josh. We love our 2509s, our second Rockwood. I never see us buying anything else, simply the best.
The best!
We’re on our 5th Rockwood……the Signature 8337. Best one so far! Thanks for the tour 👍😎
Wow!
Thanks Josh I know this is from last year but as I am trying to decide which to purchase this has helped enormously, thanks to Rockwood for allowing it.
It’s still 99% accurate. Only difference is they went to double Azdel on signatures
Thanks to everyone who helped in allowing Josh to film this. Thank you to Josh for taking the time to do this. It was fantastic and just about sold me on a Rockwood trailer. The beginning of next year I will retire and will be looking for a trailer to roam the county in.
Finally seen a Trailer Video were I, at 6'3' am told the Height of the interior, Thank You.
I try to point it out where I can. Perhaps I need to make more of a pointed effort on it. TY for the feedback!
Just purchased a flagstaff.that door advertising is one of reasons why and now I know I can use it for a pet barrier I'm gonna leave it.love your videos keep them coming.
That is awesome! Zero dollar upgrade! :)
Thanks Josh! Appreciate it!
:)
Well done!
❤️Quality Engineered.
By Design.
We agree!
Now I want an RV with the Atmospheric Reentry Package
hahaha
Makes me proud to get a Rockwood 🇺🇸
Thanks Josh…
Excellent review…👍👍
I’ll be looking into more Rockwood and Flagstaffs…
Thanks for sharing…
Any time!
Congratulations on a GREAT segment! You can bet as a future buyer I’d look forward to paying “extra” to buy product from this company.
TY for joining us :)
Please drop little notes with questions as you have them or simply sharing things you appreciate or enjoy!
Josh, I would like to see the Rockwood A frame production line. That's what I have and I am curious on how they assemble them.. Good tour for the more affluent buyer.
Same here. I'd love to see one of the high wall A-frames being built (or a tour like this, step by step).
Me three would like to see the rockwood a frame production line, wanting to get a122 toy hauler model
Thx for watching Kevin! I went down on two separate trips to capture 4 tour segments, but A-Frames were not running while I was there.
However, I think between the traditional video tours and the popup tour I was able to record you'll be able to connect the dots enough to get the idea overall
Thank you Rockwood for allowing this and thank you Haylett RV for taking the time to do this video. I'm getting ready to take possession of a 2022 Rockwood Roo 235S and cannot wait to get it.
Congratulations! I hope this has been helpful for you :)
If you found something useful here, then please take a quick moment to drop me a review at bit.ly/3sQtSlV
This was great. Thanks to you and Rockwood for putting this type of video together.
Our pleasure :)
Good to see others are starting to follow Jayco’s lead with GY Endurance tires.
Rockwood adopted them fairly quickly, but yeah. Jayco really broke the mold there
Would love to see the Pop up and A Frame production lines.
Part 4 will be tent campers -- A-Frames were not on the production line when I came thru
But I think if you watch the other segments, then you'll be able to connect the dots well enough. Thanks for joining us! :)
I was told by an RV dealer who was swallowed up in consolidation that Rockwood was the best RV on the market and wished every one they sold was a Rockwood. After watching this video I can see why he was so impressed. Thanks Josh and Rockwood for showing the construction process as it sold me on why Rockwood will be my next purchase.
I will say this to anyone: I personally feel pound for pound if you average out all factors Rockwood is the best value overall on the market today
Thank you Rockwood
Josh: I've always wondered, do RV fresh, gray and black tanks usually have internal baffles to minimize fluid moment of inertia from internal slosh as the trailer transits? Given the size of some of these tanks, if someone were to travel with full or almost full tanks, the aggragrate moving mass could be substantial even if the tanks are mounted low in relation to the RV's center of gravity. Respectfully, WS
They do not. Interesting thought, though!
This would work for fresh water, but the baffles would provide way too much surface area for waste to cling to for the gray and black tanks
I’m wondering how long it takes, on average, to get a Rockwood trailer built, from start to out the door. I just watched a video of a Jayco build. 11 hours. The workers were running around so fast it’s hard to imagine anything being built right.
Thanks Josh and Forest River( the actual parent company of the sisters). When I am ready to purchase my RV I would definitely consider making the trek from Massachusetts to Michigan just to deal with you and buy a Forest River product.
Wow all great info.
Wish I could have seen a video on the building of my Alpine Coach
Thanks for your hard work Josh! We appreciate your insight and transparency with all the manufacturers!
Yes I’d like mine to be have it’s exact weight not a guesstomation
Excellent video. I’d love to see a factory tour of keystone specifically their cougar half ton line.
I may not be able to break away to do it this year, but that's definitely on my list of things To Do
Thanks Josh for taking the time to do a factory tour.
Our pleasure Billy!
Thank you for the tour! Very informative. We own an older Flagstaff and have been so pleased.
As usual an excellent video!!! Thank you...
An h thank you!
Love these behind the scenes insights. Thanks Josh!!
OUTSTANDING!!! Thank You for a great tour. I really enjoyed seeing how everything fits together. Rockwood has always been a quality build but I had no idea how much quality is involved. Looking forward to part II.
Love Rockwood/Flagstaff, this is amazing!
