I use Libre but keeping the sensor long enough is the number one topic discussed in our community! I’m sure it is not any different for all the Dexcom users out there so this video should be of great help! Hope you are doing better Levi! Those Tshirts look really good!
I didn't like the idea of the needle going through the skin tac. I now use a q tip to apply the tax on the sensor before putting it in my arm. Be careful not to apply the tax to the needle. No need to wipe excess skin tac off your arm.
Wayment....day 19? I used to reset them when they didn't last 10 days....How long are you leaving yours on? I never even thought to try to reset them. This might be a dumb question but how do you reset them?
When you made this video, the G6 was the system that was out at the time, but since then the G7 has come out. Have you had any better luck with the G7?
Do you have any suggestions for keeping a pump set on? My son is 13, and a big kid, 5'8", 175 lbs. We use the skin tac and over patches for the dexcom, and skin tac for his pump sets. We are trying a new overpatch for the set but they roll up just as you described the patches you tried for the cgm. I have had no luck finding the clear plastic overpatches for the pump set (tslim). Thank you!!
My recommendation would be following the process in the video as far as showering before site changes. That made a huge difference for me. Much better adhesion than just wiping down the area with alcohol alone. Easier said than done being that we change sites so often. I hope this helps.
I found another solution to remove the adhesive after removing the sensor is just using coconut oil. You can wipe it right off after applying that to your skin.
Wait. There's a trick for longer lasting sensors? I'm tearing my hair out here having had sensors fall off all the time and its basically £50 every time. My 3 month pack is set to just get me to 2 weeks at this rate. What's the reset trick? In the extremely unlikely event I get one to stick for 10 days, if I can push it to 19 days that'll be amazing.

The process for Libre is nearly identical! Great point, thank you!
I use New Skin liquid bandage to seal down the edges.
I’ve found any old cheap, oil based make-up remover will take off any remaining sticky plaster lines! No need to pay out for Tac-away type products.
I use the g7..I hate the overlay patch it leaves a big bruise circle around the edge when removed.
Great information Levi this is the only way my G6 stays on, it also works when I insert a new infusion set 😊
Well thanks a lot! Glad to know it is helpful
After almost two years (my 2nd diaversary is literally tomorrow) I've found that skin tac under and on top of the adhesive works best for me
That’s awesome that you found what works for you!
It shouldn’t cost you any more of a sensor falls off early. Dexcom will replace any sensor that doesn’t stay on for the full 10 days.
Great point and solution for the occasional mishap. Unfortunately for me, pursuing a replacement from Dexcom for every instant is time-prohibitive
If its anything like getting omnipod to replace a failed pod you are right....its an annoyance and time consuming.
Thanks, Levi! Good to see you back at it. Praying for the rest of your family and hoping they don't get, The Covid.
Thank you Terrie!
I have yet to get 10 days out of my censor. The company needs to make the tape larger!

Love it! I wear the DEXCOM also
Awesome Holly! That control-IQ is nuts! So helpful

There are a handful of good tutorials on UA-cam but essentially you are removing the transmitter, waiting 15 min, reinserting and restarting!

Did you find them? I found over patches for cgm and infusion set on amazon by the same company, I think

So sad I live in Canada and didn’t qualify!!
How do you get it to last over ten days? I thought it stops reading after 10 days
Where do put your sensor?
I've tried to restart my G6 many time unsuccessfully, how do you restart yours?
What about shaving the hair around where you stick the sensor?
Also an awesome piece of advice 👍

I want a T shirt, please!!!
Call dexcom and tell them it came off. They will send you a replacement free.
Hey you said you restart your sensor, do you know if this can be done on a free style libre ? Is so how 😅 it’s costing me a bomb
I do not know I’m sorry. Try joining the Libre Facebook group! I’m sure they are quite knowledgeable
Between Two Lines, ah no bother, keep up the good work though your vids have helped me get back on track, they help me feel less isolated 👍👍
How are your BS numbers Levi?
The last few weeks my numbers have been great!
