Hello Doctor. I have been diabetic for 30 years and I have a hard time keeping it under control. I wish you could accept patients outside of Florida. That would help a lot of people.
That’s true and thank you for the comment. Yet demand isn’t enough yet for us to invest. Believe me being a doctor, I have to pay astronomical amounts of money to the states and insurance companies for them to accept us in their state and in their insurance plans. We tried cash but people don’t want paying out of pocket for their diabetes. They expect insurance cover it but that system failed long before. Not fair for anybody. I am trying my best to educate folks at least. Be well.
Hi Elizabeth I recommend you to watch Dr. Bernstein a T1D diabetologist that promotes a low carbohydrate diet (not keto) he has teleseminars and videos call Dr. Bernstein Diabetes University that explains common issues many diabetics face. He was the inventor of the basal/bolus method. I can assure you his methods work 100% percent assuming you do your part. My HbA1c starting his methods was in the upper 7s and I felt horrible, thought still an acceptable range by the ADA... 4 months later its 4.8 normal non diabetic range. Truly incredible, most of my life my HbA1c was in the mid to low 6s and yet I still developed diabetic eye problems. Last week after about 5 months in his diet and insulin regimen I dropped 20 lbs and my vision improved, the olphatalmologist I saw who was also a T1D and follows his methods because they are medically sane. My diabetic autonomic eye neuropathy and diabetic double vision reversed even my prescription improved! He argues that within six months of true normal BG even macular edema reverses or at least improves to the point of no further treatment needed. He was able to reverse his stage 4 diabetic nephropathy within 3 years. Of course the ADA says that these complications are not reversable which is true if you keep your BG twice as high from normal as they recommend. You would be surprised how being normal really feels! Wish you luck! Here is a link to his channel please watch this video and enjoy healthy normal BG! ua-cam.com/video/SCzk66CQKEg/v-deo.html
Wish you illustrate in a board. Your explanation is complicated. Recently diagnosed with prev Diabetes, Sugar went passed a bit the normal range and would like to monitor it so could bring it back to normal.
I have been diagnosed for type 2 diabetes for almost 2 years. I am now doing 20 mins exercise and diet to combat and stop medication. I started this last week and my a1c at the time was 4.2. Im in africa and need your help

Great potential but far from reliable. Do not believe the tv commercials- finger sticks are not a thing of the past. Take your meter with you any time you leave your house. There are decent stretches of time that go by and my sensors don’t fail, but I have learned the hard way not to trust a CGM. This week both times I went to the gym to exercise my sensor failed. No reading for up to 3 hours. It’s very frustrating. I hope the people at Dexcom will get better quality control.
Actually there are way more lovers and very few haters of dexcom in my practice. I am sorry your experience wasn’t good. Some of the problems arise from not understanding how they work and how you should interpret. I have a few videos about that. Check out “How to analyze and interpret dexcom and libre”
There is nothing to misunderstand when your sensor fails. You just need to carry a good old fashioned glucose monitor. I did not say I hated it. I said it has great potential.

Thank you for this information. So even with the Libre 2 I may still do finger sticks? Why wear the Libre then?
For many people the sensors aren't accurate. You have to do what's right for you, sometimes they aren't any easier. Just do what works for your body!
I have diabetes time 2,but I don't use insulin, do I have to use this sensor???
Very useful. Thanks a lot!
Great !

I never have to take my meter anywhere with me. Their quality control is fine. Type 1 diabetic of 23 years using Dexcom for the past four years
Yes, all type 1 diabetics should be on the Dexcom G6
Do you have any carnivores on dexcom? Yes just meat ..
Yes when my daughter has hypo
