This video came at the perfect time for me since I'm just beginning to figure out how voice acting as a career (major shift) could be possible. Thank you!!!
This is EXTREMELY helpful for a voice actor who is trying to get into the professional world of voice acting, and it's really be very exciting to hear all of this information!! It's definitely been hard to get casted for projects and to find paid work too without having to pay for subscriptions for websites, so I'm hoping to continue my dream!!
This video was very informative, thank you! I am new to this industry and currently training with workshops. I currently have an IG, FB, and TikTok, should I create new accounts just for voiceovers or my personal account where I post my personal life is fine? What should I be posting? As a beginner at what point would I know that I have enough work to create a website?
@@angelicacalvillo7289 How do you even find clients in the first place? Fiverr is oversaturated and the pay to plays are expensive and low paying gigs.
@angelicacalvillo7289 @Shannon_Robbie I totally understand the feeling. Self-doubt is the underlying challenge of this area of the industry. Learning what your expectations should be with results, learning how to let go of anticipation and just rely on your method, and having patience that although cause and effect isn't so obvious with your efforts that your actions are making a difference. It takes a little bit to build the momentum.
@MediKwc3 typically my clients let me know specifically if they don't want me sharing clips or they'll have me sign an NDA. you can always make it your protocol to ask ahead of time.
What’s your take on the role of AI in the industry? Is it not taking out a big piece of the pie, in terms of the amount of work available for beginners? Thank you for making this meaningful and knowledge filled videos for us beginners out there! Can’t appreciate you enough.
@surbhikochhar4895 AI is definitely relevant in the industry and agents are already using contracts to try to prevent clients from stealing your voice. However, I see it kind of like at home massagers. They didn't put real masseuses out of work.

I would go with the FiFine microphones. I have a review of them somewhere on my channel. You will need an interface and their interface is solid as well. All in under $100 with very decent quality. You can record in your closet and it will sound clean.
That's awesome! Keep practicing and building that portfolio! When you're ready, then you have to dive into the marketing just a bit. Decide on whether you want to go through an agency, a pay to play platform, or personal marketing directly to companies. I have a few videos that help go through your options!
@nastasiamarquez6472 Thanks! I was gonna start on Fiveer and Upwork and get better familiarized with the technical and business end of VO before pay to play. From what I've been told is that I have talent, I just need the "getting my feet wet" in the actual industry part.
It is certainly possible, but in today's industry it is far more difficult. Unless you have a very unique voice, Agencies are now valuing social media presence as part of their consideration.
Thank you so much for your insight - the tone in your voice, pauses, as well as inferred emotion speak volumes, a lesson in itself.

Even your voice and intonation has changed from the last video, which I just watched btw 😹✨️

This is hands down the best intro to voice over video I have come across. Very helpful and coherent. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for saying that, it's so satisfying to hear that I've brought clarity to someone's journey!
This is brilliant and comprehensive, thank you. I've watched a tonne of these and this is the most helpful!

Your advice and down-to-earth presentation has really helped me gain positive insight into this industry --- thank you so much! 😃
You're very welcome, new journeys always feel scary. I'm glad I could shed some light on how concrete and approachable it can be!

Incredibly well said. Great video. Thank you
Thank you!
I'm still hung up on the finding clients part. It seems like that's going to be the hardest portion of this.
Yes! Am currently struggling with sealing the deal with clients

Do you need to have the client's permission to post a recorded gig on your website?
Great video !

I'm making demo reels in order to fill a portfolio. I just don't know where to submit once I'm done. I'm not exactly there yet though😅
