👁 About this video : Today I put the first tank of E85 into the Nissan GTR! After installing the flex fuel kit on R35 Nissan GTR, I put a tank of E85 Flex Fuel in the GTR! Since I has some 93 octane in the tank, my ethanol content got to 55%. So of course I need to drive it more and keep diluting hte gas to increase the content to 85%. So far I am blown away with the addition of power with the Flex Fuel for Nissan GTR! R35 GTR is wicked fast on Flex Fuel E85 and I'm pumped!

Whoa 85 looks fun and amazing. I currently have MP exhaust and intake on mine. Thinking of adding downpipes next! Was their a huge difference when your added the DP?
Oh yeah! Huge difference with the downpipes and stage 3 tune! You will need fuel injectors to go along with those

Yep, 14.2 MPG average on 60 gal average. 93 gives me 17.0 Alcohol gives me 60 more HP though.

Way faster than 93? Impressive. In getting to know you and from what I've seen before, this seems like one inexpensive way to add power that most folks could do like your other mods.
Yeah going flex doesn’t really cost much! It’s way faster already!! Can’t wait to feel out the next tank as it gets more concentrated!

Finally got my corn cob decal for my gas door. The power comes at a cost of 3-4 MPG in my car. Sweet spot for my car is 62-65% ETOH. Makes 800 or a tad more WHP on E65. Torque limited at 650 ft lbs via my EcuTec tune. 750 HP 650 tq on 93.
With my Mods: Turbos, injectors, Intercooler, Flex fuel kit, intakes, exhaust, etc..
Nice! I notice if I drive normal and don't get into boost I get the same MPG as with gas. But if I rip on it, it goes down to 11 vs 18

There needs to be more e85 pumps around the Charlotte region, years ago there was only like 1 that my friend would have to make a 40 min trip just to get lol (was worth it on his setup though)
Yeah really! This is the only one I know of! Wish QT had E as well. There are two of those stations near me and would be way more convenient

I knw you knw the dynamics of putting seafoam or Gum or heet to a full gas tank do you do that or recommend it for my 2017 GTR to prevent carbon build up in engine.i drive my gtr like a grama never launched it and it's at 22k miles.just for preventive measure not so the csbon won't build up in engine over time? Thank you
Honestly I never did that in mine. I drove the car enough and never really let it sit. Never had issues. Can't hurt tho
Which tune did you use on the access port ?
Still on the 93 octane map from Cobb?
All of my tuning has been with AAM Competition. I had already loaded the flex tune from them before installing the kit. So it can read 93 all the way to E85. Thats why the gauges worked. That tells me its reading properly, and the tine was already set up for it
I dont have E85 available where I live, only 91 shell V power and 93 octane fuel. What would you recommend for the GTR? I also have a cobb tuner.
Oh dang. Just stick with 93 then. Thats your best bet

My car has no cats. With ethanol the flames are a bit more. However my flame map really doesnt do much. Its more of a few pops and bangs. I never use that map

Upgrading the turbo is a big job requiring the engine to come out. Not looking to do that

Don't you need an e85 tune + the tune you already have to run flex fuel? I thought you had to do that before you could drive it on e85.
My tune was setup to read E when I switched to the speed density tune a few videos ago. Linked in the description!
Once I installed the flex kit the tune was then able to read the fuel content. So we had it setup with that tune

The vlog is a little misleading if you don't watch the series in it's entirety. In this specific vlog it makes it sound like you install sd kit, fuel pumps and flex fuel kit and you are good to go. But he left out the most important part which is the proper tune. With out the proper tune very bad things can go wrong.

Yup! Thats the beauty of flex fuel! Right now, my last few tanks have just been 93. And then when I get low I can put a full tank of E85 back in it and the car reads the fuel and automatically adjusts the tune to be perfect! Love it!

Transmission should be next. If you upgrade it now before you break it, it will be cheaper. You will break it, just a matter of time
Actually the trans holds up fine on e85. I just had to adjust the clutch capacitors so they stopped slipping ;)

My current tune is already setup for the ethanol. Previous vids are in the description. When I did the speed density tune, it was written to read E. So one I installed the fuel pumps then flex kit. It was now actually able to read the fuel

Any issues with flex fuel?
I never had issues. I only ran it every now and then. If I was doing a fun mountain trip or something were I'd be boring a tank in a day. If you only ran it for a year straight, that could cause issues with lines. But as long as you try and alternate the fuel you should be good

Here's a video I made comparing the manual Supra to the GTR. Overall yes the gTR is a more fun car and a big step up in performance. But the Supra especially in a manual, is a blast! And being newer and cheaper is a cool touch. So both very different ua-cam.com/video/NWgj3lz4Idg/v-deo.html

Nice mod. Your American 🇺🇸 fuel ⛽️ is silly cheap $30 to fill a 74litre GTR35. It costs me £40 🇬🇧 at least to fill my GT86 with its 50litre tank!

You missed out a very important part of the flex fuel kit which is the proper supporting tune. I understand you mentioned it in the previous video but for someone that doesn't watch the whole series this video can be misleading. This vlog needs some clarity but that is just my opinion.
Yeah I guess I didn't specifically say you need to have a tune setup for Flex. But I mentioned in the begging about the previous video where I did the speed density tuning, and the Cobb AP would have the ethanol content showing if the tune wasn't setup for it
It's a shame you don't use draggy, could log all you're changes and measure them kepp it up GTR life lol
That would be cool! But the roads I have access to are so inconsistent. And in winter I don't have the same traction as in summer. So they wouldn't really show accurate data
@@BrosFOURRSpeed this is true, but if you remove the starts and just do 100 to 200kmh or similar you get good readings as you would need to have more power then you have to spin the wheels in 3rd. My GTR didn't stay standard for long. I followed you're channel, love the way you do you're own upgrades. I went straight to stage 4, now going forged with efr6785 tubs. Keep on with the good content!!
I did do some rolls when I first started the tuning. But the numbers I was able to do on public roads didn't show a big enough difference to make videos on. People wouldn't look at a 1 second increase of a share run as anything to brag about. lol
But your car will be a beast for sure!

I do love this specific car!! Lots of sentimental value for sure! I think when it’s getting closer to 60k miles tho, I’ll want to sell it just to get the best value out of it. By then I’ll have had it like 6 years! And a newer one will be fun!
