Such beauty, such floating elegance. When I see such a performance I always think of my sessions of argument when I speak to other people about wing tips or the tips of air or water propellers. I do not exactly criticize the wing tips of the elliptical wings of the Spitfire but since very young, I always felt that the rake forward of the trailing edge was always a misunderstanding of the vortex that is created at the wing or propeller tips. I never liked the cloverleaf shape of the tips of water propellers as those on the Titanic. I had always noted that both the leading and trailing edge of wings in birds and tips of fins in fish both the leading and trailing edge were raked back. Giving credit to the evolution of living creatures over a million years, I studied the situation and fully understood why nature selected that both the leading and trailing edges of tips of wings on birds and fins in fish evolved like that. This video clearly confirms that it is good to have both leading edge and trailing edge at the tips to be both raked back. Birds and fish do it for a good reason...... it is the better tip! The fact that the additional winglets are where they are, well it certainly support what I think of what goes on those tips, such a lot goes on and what is more, it is all so beautiful and so elegant and so efficient. I feel that the Spitfire would have been a better aircraft had it had different wing tips. Also in this case, where being a glider is a benefit, the fact that the horizontal stabilizer is mounted so high, it has clean air passing around it and it results in such an elegant flight. Congratulations to all who took part and also I must recommend the bravery and courage of all those launched that plane down that hill.
Interesting thoughts, especially when comparisons between the birds are used. Germany's Horten brothers took the flights of birds to the next level by the introduction of their own versions of flying wing designs. No fuselage, no tail and no rudder. The purest essence of flight, the wings of birds, that have conquered and solved the mysteries of flight eons ago with their elegance and. simplicity. I used to build and fly R/C Sailplanes when I was a kid. There isn't anything better than flying an airplane that was build by ones' own hands from a slope over looking the ocean!!! Nice video, nice scenery, thanks millions!!
What an exhilarating event! I loved watching this great launching of a real work of art, such a beautiful craft and how the three involved and the friends filming were all together with this great first flight. I wonder how close the guy with the white stocking cap came from running off the edge of what was maybe a cliff! Also an amazing feat of craftsmanship and design to create such a remarkable craft. If I didn't know it was a model, and with the very real looking pilots that reminded me of the guy at the controls and the guy with the dark hair that helped launch. I like how the natural plants were tossing in the wind and how the sea gulls flew with the craft too! It would be great fun flying that in many settings with such a beautiful coast. Is it structured for aerobatics too? I suppose that all comes only with a lot of practice as I'm sure does with how to launch and also how to operate the controls. Thanks for sharing this great video!
I´m very pleased about your mention. In the beginning (2010) the making of videos at Brittany`s coasts and the Menez Hom, was to have souvenirs of our hollidays, souvenirs that never come again, like the growing up of our youngest pilot, my nephew Felix who startet at the age of 11, and who is now an experimented and very skilled radiocontroller of big gliders. And, to be honest, I made these videos espacially for myself, for several times a day having nice gliders in a beautiful "entourage" to please my eyes and the music (not certainly for everybody!!!) to calm and flatter my ears. and, truely, what can be more beautiful than watching a 1:2,5 Arcus passing in front of your eyes at the same altitude and a distance of 15-20 m., over the sea in laminary flow and 7-8 beauforts ??? I´m getting goose bumps writing this. Thanks very much for your kind comments, a pure warming up !!!

@@gprrobby have you ever flown in a glider?
@@edojap Thanks for your question, really I`m afraid of flying myself.
@@gprrobby What i meant was, have you had any experiences that pushed you into not flying anymore or you've just never got on an aircraft because of your fear?
@@edojap For my profession, I had to fly to USA in 2006, the last time and never again.
Nicely done, sir! I have watched this several times and am fascinated each time. I have two motor gliders that I"m learning on, but you are way past me. Great flying and great camera work.
Thank you Pete, nice comment. Very encouraging for us !
Beautiful craft, excellent flying skills and lovely chill out music. Well done guys 👍
Thank you, nice and encouraging comment
Beautiful..... simply stunning, and very good photography !!!!
Than you Greg, nice comment!
The best I have seen so far. What about some camera on board?
It's too small to carry Go-Pro... 🤪
LoL no it's not 😂....it could carry four
Fabuleux!
Bravo
Très belle video
Merci André
Wonderful aircraft, excellent !
I did the same thing around 1982 in the south-west of Ireland near Allihies with a glider that had a wingspan of 3 meters. It was a magnificent experience! The view and nature were stunning! Love to see it again!
Thanks, good memories and Good Vibrations to theses flyings, Close to the Edge!!
Beautiful flight, videography and background music. Thank you!!!
Thank you Ramsin, nice and encouraging comment
Title should have been "guy almost falls off cliff launching rc glider"
😂😂😂😂😂😂thats exactly what i said when watched them launch it
A beautifull Glider in a beautifull Scenery! Congratulation!
Thank you for your nice comment
Please post again with ambient sound mixed in or by itself. Would love to hear the whoosh of those long skinny wings.
Beautiful! That is big enough to need a receiver in each wing, one in the tail and one in the nose for the motor!
So I clicked into this massive plane & I was like.... wtf is powering her & the way she passed by
seemingly sideways in the wind as it turned was breathtakingly beautiful.... a remarkable flight
by an equally impressive build. I'm not even a pilot but this is worthy of praise just for the
accomplishment of it....... peace
Thank you Diggy for your kind remarks, and I agree with you...it`s like beeing everything to me.
