This works great, thanks for sharing. What I also figured out it that we are better off with using AA rechargeable batteries directly into the remote than somehow fixing it.
+Ayushi Sahu Do AA batteries rechage ok in the remote? I didnt try it but I have plenty of rechargeable AA batteries. bought 100 from ebay for $48, for solar walk lites along the house perimeter.
btw thanks for the video. it save me quite a few dollars today and will be saving my neighbor even more as he has 2 wii's and 8 rechargeable battery packs that don't work anymore.
I'm old school, and I actually prefer non-battery controllers, but I also really like Wii games. If you're also like me in this way, you can purchase a 3V DC power supply for $5 on Amazon that plugs into the wall, strip the ends and solder them to the +/- terminals appropriately. Works like a charm. No need for batteries ever again.
eh even if the guy made a mistake and a tiny one at that he did manage to provide a video to show how to fix the battery packs which btw saved me a good $30-40 today alone. I spent $15 today $10 for rechargeable for 4 AAA batteries and $5 for a good roll of aluminum foil as I didn't trust those packages of tin foil that comes pre cut in a box.
Get a decent lipo charger and charge them with it. Most of these are not dead rather their voltage got too low for the charger to recognize them. You can use a cheap lipo hobby charger to bring the voltage up.
I would like to say though the blasted aluminum foil when folded over a few times does tend to cause the battery packs to bulge out at the end a bit but that's nothing serious. For me it was either follow this vid or buy a new induction charging kit. I took the cheep route and it work.
Easy and cheap fix for those damnable wii batteries thats cost WAY to much. These do not work well with the white battery packs since the white pack batteries are AA thickness but AAA hight
I'm confused by this. Why not just use 2 rechargable AA batteries directly into the wiimote and forget the pack all together? Typical AA batteries work fine, although they tend to last about a week before I need to toss them out.
You can. The only reason would be to put rechargeable batteries back into the pack so that the remotes charge when placed on the charging station. (However, those look like standard Duracell alkaline batteries. The rechargeable Energizer and Duracell have green in the color scheme....although right around the time when he was taping the battery case together I did hear him say that they were "rechargeable".)
Your video is good, but you made a small error when you were explaining the positive negative when inserting the batteries back in the plastic pack. You pointed correctly for the first battery, but when you were pointing to the second battery, you were pointing to the negative side and said positive and you said negative for the positive side. The batteries were correctly positioned anyway, so it wasn't that bad.
I have Nyko brand. I order 4/5 AA NiMH replacements off Ebay. I open it up and actually replace the batteries. They are about $2 a piece with free shipping. I can do a video on how to repair if anyone is interested.
Thank you so much!! 💕 getting the Wii going on this virus shutdown now....truly appreciate your time to do this for us all...
I just found my Wii from over 5 years ago, and let me tell you, the remotes needed to be fixed lol
Thanks for this! I was trying to figure out how to turn our (now both completely dead) rechargeable wiimotes into ones with replaceable batteries.
Thank you for uploading this video.
This has helped me out so much and saved me a lot of money.

Yes but then you need a separate charger lol

Pete Kasley This in spite of the tip on how it was so smart to write in the directions of the battery with a marker pen 🤓
