The Old Republic Era is the best place in StarWars. I almost don't want to say it, but the collective story telling of the authors who wrote for the Old Republic Era surpass the original trilogy.
Revan and Thrawn are the single best characters in all of star wars. Mystery, intrigue and a bunch of other factors play in. While one is from Old Republic era and the other is from the imperial, they are both tactical geniusses, who dont have a strong bond to either the good guys (Old Republic and Rebel Alliance) or the bad guys (Sith empire and Galactic Empire) they care about major threats lurking in the unknown regions, with Darth viciate and his plan to vipe the entire galaxy from existence or the yuuzhan vong and their galactic conquest. They are lone wolfs who knows more than they let on, with hidden motivations for the people around them, which in my opinion makes them both great. Sadly Revan isn't cannon anymore and the original Thrawn who nearly viped the new republic from existence in 9 aby isn't either. Thank god Thrawn has actually come back into cannon, but with a completely new story, his character is still the same. In the clone wars episode where Darth Bane made his comeback into cannon they also planned for Revan to come back, but cut it out. You forgot to mention that Nihilus was stationed on the ravager a republic command ship and when they were pulled in he was made a wound in the force and sucked the energy out of the surviving crew and with his anger held the ship together until he met the rest of the sith who helped him repair it.

In terms of raw power output, no Sith was ever stronger than Nihilus. However, this strength was not his, as he had no will to command it or make conscious use of it. He was a slave to it. That enormous power ate him up, consumed every part of his being, until Nihilus was but a made-up name, a barely-sentient consciousness bound to a robe and mask. Nihilus' own hunger, the source of his power, controlled and guided his every action. So while Nihilus was certainly the most destructive, he was weak-willed beyond measure. This does not make him any less dangerous, but it does make him considerably less powerful, in the grand scheme of things, than other Sith Lords, as they had the will and smarts to control events far outside their own physical power. Palpatine had far less raw power output, but he was smart enough to trick the entire Galaxy into doing his bidding for decades. Power is relative.
@Lelouch Vi Britannia I've never debated that. In fact, he would wipe the floor with every single Force User in any direct confrontation. It's just that he is painfully easy to manipulate, due to his hunger.
Ah the old EU, with Chiss around every corner, layers on film series culture and planets, new planets and species waiting to be integrated, and a Republic actually willing to hit people. In the way that in TLA, the fire nation is strong but trouble fighting the others under the avatar etc etc
palpatine is the most powerful sith, he could make force storms that could consume entire solar systems and the life force drain can be countered if ur strong enough in the force
The sith is strong in the short term, but the Jedi has the help of a primordial force that manipulate all odds in favor to the light. Sith win the battle, but the Jedi win the war.

MenagedMinecraft force wounds are created when there is a massive loss of life in one place with only a few surviving force sensitives bound to the dead
Is the Knights of the Old Republic series ever going to be declared canon again? It's not like it's interfering with what Disney is doing or anything. Plus, it's pretty cool.
Kreia: (Nihilus) He… if he can truly be called a man any longer, is one of the Dark Lords that pursues you. There is no strength in the hunger he possesses, and the will behind his power is a primal thing. And it devours him as he devours others. His mere presence kills life around him, slowly feeding him. He walks but he is already dead: it is merely a question of how many he kills before he falls. And in truth, he cares nothing for the Sith, or its teachings, or the Jedi. And when the Jedi are dead, her master will feed on the Republic, the galaxy, and eventually consume the Sith as well. It is not something he can direct or focus, much like hunger itself. He is more of a hole in the Force, than a living thing. He must be stopped, before his power grows to such a level that it becomes something that even we cannot hope to avert. It is terrible. (Sion) Yes... of pain he has learned much. Of knowledge, of teaching, he knows nothing,
Dude, i absolutely love your videos.. You have soo much great knowledge on the EU, and your doing a great job breaking it down. PLEASE DO MORE STAR WARS VIDEOS.
Just to think that the Rebels were terrified of Palpatine because he used the Death Star, a superweapon that could destroy any planet that dared to oppose him. They should have considered themselves lucky that they didn't live in this period. Darth Nihilus literally ate planets for breakfast.
Kriea never wanted to reclaim power in the Sith she wanted to use Meetra to destroy the force using her force wound. Therefore at the end when she lures you to Malachor V if you were to have died there. The echo it would've produced would have been so great it severed the entire galaxies connection from the force.
@@XxLew Yeah her logic is you'll either destroy her and prove you possess the ability to train a generation of Jedi that will wipe out the Sith for good. Or she'll kill you inside of Malachor V making an echo so massive that it will effectively deaden and sever the entire galaxy from the force. Which will kill all the Jedi and Sith who rely on it; which she proves when she cuts off all the Jedi Masters from the force and they die. Basically she wins no matter what happens.

Personally Darth Revan and Nihilus are my favorite i love to imagine what would have happened if they ever somehow teamed up the Old Republic is just fucking awesome
It is debatable if Revan ever truly fell. It was after he came back from the unknown regions that he started his war. In Knights of the Old Republic II text from your companions state that he had a plan in his attacks. He kept military and infrastructure intact unlike Malak who just killed everything. It is then implied that he was preparing the galaxy for something he found which turned out to be the Sith Empire from The Old Republic. It could be inferred that the threat was the Yuuzhan Vong from the moving asteroids Mandalore describes and the Sith Empire is a Bioware Retcon. The idea of Revan not having fallen but having a plan is further supported by Kreia who brings up themes of the ends justifying the means and perhaps Revan wasn't light or dark but doing what was needed in his war and in the Mandalorian Wars.
Maybe but you could also say that Raven kept them intact because he wanted to conquer. Historically that was also often done; minimum destruction. After all people want to rule an empire, not just large piles of rubble and corpses.
Kreia is my favorite star wars character she is only character who realizes the force is evil and only breeds conflict. In this pursuit of the death of the force she is more good than any Jedi.
Imagine just on a stroll on your planet and seeing darth nihilus as a force ghost just starring at you from a distance.... It would terrify the shit out of me, lmao
They were the most powerful sith lords she could find. The entire idea of the rule of two hadn't been established at this point so having multiple apprentices was not a problem. Darth Raven's philosophy of having 1 apprentice would win out eventually but at this point things were still in flux.
Hey I’m new to Star Wars and would like to learn the complete lore and backstory of all Star Wars in timeline order from oldest time to current. What’s the best place to have in depth full info about everything? If anyone knows plz let me know :)
Not gonna lie Nihilus is probably the only Sith besides Vitiate that could actually pull a Rule of One-like Sith Order due to his sheer power and immortality (unless I'm mistaken, was it actually stated that he had immortality?)
yes, kreia says it in kotor , she says that nihilus is already dead, it is a matter of how many he kills untill he falls, so in other words yes, he is inmortal as long his mask , robe and holocron survive, since his spirit is bound to them. As far we know all 3 items are burried somewhere on korroban in a dark side energy nexus
Something tells me that his mask is mire than a mask. Maybe I dunno, keeping his spirit until someone finds it so he can possess him while consuming hin until he changed host or something. Sounds very possible to me
Which Sith Lord crushed two gas giants or stars ( can't remember which) together to flee from enemy forces? His ship was damaged and he used the force two pull the stars or gas giants together.

I never understood why the Sith (besides Bane) condemned Krayt's philosophy. Nihilus and Andeddu especially, while selfish, lived during a time where the Sith were plentiful. Also I'd appreciate it if you made a video on Darth Krayt. :) Thanks.
Grant Wilson How the fuck did Krayt even know what Nihilus was saying. Nihilus was probably screaming in that ancient language and he should've been like: WTF ARE YOU SAYING
Various reasons. The ancient sith didn't like the path he took and Bane is very proud of the rule of 2. On bane's rule of 2 it was a good idea for the time as the Sith were on the back foot. But the rule of 2 only allows the Sith to survive, it doesn't allow them to thrive. After all a sith, no matter how powerful is still only 1 person and can't be everywhere at once.

Probably not as we know it, parts of it will be reintroduced but with changes.
Exar Kun has been made canon so its possible.
Disney just don't want it canon bc they didn't make it.
Of knowledge, of teaching, he knows nothing,
Oh can you do Thrawn and also Revan.
Definitely will do both before Christmas
And Exar Kun
And Malak
CivilizationEx can you do vitiate
This has gotten me really interested of looking at Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2.
Dude, i absolutely love your videos.. You have soo much great knowledge on the EU, and your doing a great job breaking it down. PLEASE DO MORE STAR WARS VIDEOS.
Thank you! There will be more Star Wars vids as we get closer to December, including a series on Thrawn and Revan.
Please do one on Darth Krayt! :)
*Yeeeees.*
Just to think that the Rebels were terrified of Palpatine because he used the Death Star, a superweapon that could destroy any planet that dared to oppose him.
They should have considered themselves lucky that they didn't live in this period.
Darth Nihilus literally ate planets for breakfast.
My name is Treya, and i love how my name is basically the same as Darth Traya
This was amazing!!! I was so hyped watching it!
I would say that pre SWOTOR old republic era is tied with the clone wars as the best star wars era in terms of world building
Kriea never wanted to reclaim power in the Sith she wanted to use Meetra to destroy the force using her force wound. Therefore at the end when she lures you to Malachor V if you were to have died there. The echo it would've produced would have been so great it severed the entire galaxies connection from the force.
Yeah if I remember correctly didn't she want the exile to destroy both the jedi and sith, pretty much destroy the force itself as she hated it?
@@XxLew Yeah her logic is you'll either destroy her and prove you possess the ability to train a generation of Jedi that will wipe out the Sith for good. Or she'll kill you inside of Malachor V making an echo so massive that it will effectively deaden and sever the entire galaxy from the force. Which will kill all the Jedi and Sith who rely on it; which she proves when she cuts off all the Jedi Masters from the force and they die. Basically she wins no matter what happens.
@@brotherhoodofgame honestly the writers at Obsidian deserve so much more credit for writing such an amazing character like her. I don't even think George Lucas himself could write a character better
Out of all the star wars characters in legends and canon I dont believe there are any with such depth and growth as Kriea.
Wow really want to learn more about Nihilus, thankyou
He is probably one of my favorite SW characters, especially his point of view "I am nothing and i have nothing, therefore nobody will have anything" it felt like vader but better imo.
This is how you craft stories along a main storyline
Revan was made canon with the Revan Sith Trooper Legion which also makes Nihilus canon.
Too bad they're not theyre not the same characters from the EU
Love the background music.
you need to do a Witcher lore video
great idea
I need this
kiarasig ho no shut that shit up
A movie bout him would have been sick
Darth Nihilus: "Hrm, lets see whats for dinner...ahh yes, this large planet will suffice"
love the graphics man! good stuff
:)
People always be bring Revan in such, but let me tell ya. This video right here is where it’s at, Nihilus is the ducking best!
Sion “survived his own death” that’s pretty fucking awesome
According to the official lore of KOTOR the survivor was a woman. But since Disney got their paws on the EU it's all out the window anyways I guess...
Yeah this story is no longer canon, now part of Legends
Meetra Surik, yeah. But Nihilus was of course the Malachor survivor.
Your thinking of the exiled she is legendly female, I myself view all non-contradicting old republic legend material canon
+Smasherfan88 Ah yeah, I got it mixed up. Same here re canon. Thing is, not all of the canon was any good but KOTOR was in a class of its own. A great story.
+CivilizationEx Actually I'm wrong and you're right, I was thinking of the Exile. My apologies good sir.
Great video. KOTOR2 was one of my favorite if not the favorite period of Star Wars universe. One note though, official Meetra Surik is a brunette with blue eyes, not blonde.
Dark side is so much cooler then the light
Jeremiah Shinto Totally agree, I only played KOTOR 1 and TSL as a Sith.
Darth Molalikith ... Revan: "why Not both?"
Yet light always wins. Darkness is nothing, does nothing, Light is life and the reason for Life.
@@stellarhyme3 true and not true Jedi are there to protect life sith each have they're own perspectives and the Jedi are always restricted on doing certain things. I'm not a big fan of sith that aim to destroy everything I'm more into sith like Count dooku or Vader, plagus they are not mentally ill how ever I loved lukes non Canon order I totally agreed with his perspective.
@@nosoyuncampero1094 My comment was in reference to actual science, the real battle between light and dark which star wars and other myths are a personification of. In science Light is Life as all Matter comes from Light and although Darkness overwhelms Light, it is Light which is always victorious, the material Universe proves that.
Vader's pain was nothing to Nihilus's pain
Thank goodness this is canon again.
Only in name
do one on revan
Darth Nihilus is the physical embodiment of the quote from Tacitus criticizing the Roman Empire
"They create a wasteland and call it peace"
I can tell you put alot of effort into the vid :)
As terrifying and insatiable as Darth Nihilus is, I've found he likes root beer when he cannot otherwise satisfy his ravening hunger.
The exile is my favourite character in all of SW.
god I need to decently play these games.
Kreia is my favorite star wars character she is only character who realizes the force is evil and only breeds conflict. In this pursuit of the death of the force she is more good than any Jedi.
Imagine just on a stroll on your planet and seeing darth nihilus as a force ghost just starring at you from a distance....
It would terrify the shit out of me, lmao
loved it...pls do more SW (both cannon and old EU) *-*
Legends is so much better than Mouse Canon
no one understands why kreia picked these two as her apprentices....
They were the most powerful sith lords she could find. The entire idea of the rule of two hadn't been established at this point so having multiple apprentices was not a problem. Darth Raven's philosophy of having 1 apprentice would win out eventually but at this point things were still in flux.
Darth nihilus always creeped me out because he is a literal personification and representation of addiction, in the form of hunger
Make a Darth Krayt Story
Nihilus and Sion are the scariest duo in Star Wars
Sounds very possible to me
You know... this explains a lot of disney'c choices in the rise of skywalker when it came to force powers.
wow i am blown away
Cant wait for them to do kotor as either a movie series or tv show since revan and nihilis are now canon.
We love to talk about how powerful these sith were. But dam jedi back than were beast too.
Which Sith Lord crushed two gas giants or stars ( can't remember which) together to flee from enemy forces? His ship was damaged and he used the force two pull the stars or gas giants together.
online front i have an exam tommorow and another stats exam on saturday. duo factor an eighth steps to submit any written assignment. physical front. 90 minutes 40 minutes one mile key and a card to get to class.
Good information
I never understood why the Sith (besides Bane) condemned Krayt's philosophy. Nihilus and Andeddu especially, while selfish, lived during a time where the Sith were plentiful. Also I'd appreciate it if you made a video on Darth Krayt. :) Thanks.
Perhaps it was Nihilus' force ghost on Korriban that condemned Krayt's philosophy.
Grant Wilson How the fuck did Krayt even know what Nihilus was saying. Nihilus was probably screaming in that ancient language and he should've been like: WTF ARE YOU SAYING
Grant Wilson
You make no sense
Nihilius lived before kryat
Nihilius talks in weird language so kryat cant understand him
Various reasons.
@@ИлиянаТодорова-ж1ы You clearly haven't read Legacy
I think I’d like to learn more on Visas Marr
Great job
A one trick pony but what a wild ride! All hail the sith and all hail Darth Nihilus.
awesome video
Nihilus was one hungry guy, maybe someone should've given him a snickers
Kreia: I am Kreia, and I am your rescuer; as you are mine.
Great job!
If Sidious was a void in the force, Nihilus was a supermassive black hole in It
This channel rules
Nihilus I envy his force ability the lust for hunger of all living things and force sensitive...
He sounds so epic
hmm does some of those ships you used for the cartoon on the republic side look like there from Legend of Galactic Heroes
My second favorite star wars Character
Damn, the Jedi don't seem much better than the Sith.
Well, the previous wars such as the great sith war and alsakan conflicts had devastated their numbers.
They fought in Alaska?
I said alsakan, the s is before the a.
David Vargas Ok sorry, tried to be funny.
+W.A.R I laughed tbh
