Shackle Ring boosts damage and while its average damage increase is lower than Ceramic Belt, the fact that it increases buff, debuff, and field duration (all of which this class does), as well as lowering enemy debuff resistance makes it synergize really well with Strategos. With the increased chance and duration of the physical defense down debuff, this may make it so the party does even more damage overall with Shackle Ring than Ceramic Belt, but even when that's not the case I still think it's worth it.
I like this class almost entirely because of Isurd; when you get him, he’s probably the most consistent way of getting two of your guys back in a chain attack if he finishes an order and it’s not once per chain attack like Ashera. Really fun support class, great hero, everything Thaumaturge wishes it could be.
@@planetary-rendez-vousit looks cool and Teach is good TP support, but like Zeke with Lances in XC2, he’s too busy trying to be flashy and ends up not being as practical. Isurd, and Strategos in general, can always find a spot on your team for multi-hit ether damage with support always being an option.
Of note about Preemption Gambit is that, from what I’ve noticed, so long as you draw your weapon before the enemy notices you, you will get the attack buff, even if they aggro you before you can get a first hit in. It also works even if Strategos is not the one that initiates the preemptive attack.
This is probably my favourite healer class in the game just due to it being more offensively oriented. I hope we get some keves healers in the DLC so this class can potentially nab it's master arts. A better buff for it to use would be really nice
Definitely a super fun class and an interesting take on a healer. I could just never get past the fact that they remind me of those little disc shooters you'd get at an arcade... which made me love them even more.
Isurd would love those little guns, tbh. After his ascension question, I can imagine he sees someone with their back turned in the colony then **shunk**.

A good thing to note is that Preemption Gambit will trigger even if you're controlling a character different from your Strategos, meaning your DPS will quickly get a damage boost when initiating combat with their combos.
Nice guide as always keep up the good work, I enjoyed using this class alot for it's healing during the midgame - late game and felt like it was a straight upgrade to Taion's class, until I got the post game healer class, which I prefer using now.

aesthetically; my favorite healer. just a cool design. Kept Taion on it for a while; only switching off for the usual pairing of Troubadour and Signifer lol
One unusual use of Hornet in midgame is as a Master Art on Kevesi Defenders; as a healing Art, it seems to draw additional aggro, and even though it won't heal _much_ HP on a Defender, every little bit helps. The strategy definitely gets quickly outclassed as the better lategame options start coming online, but during that awkward middle hump when you're desperately trying to ration your limited supply of non-capped Defender levels, the extra bit of aggro draw can allow you to run single-Defender setups without immediately consigning your whole party to dying all the time.
Loved the guides and have been following them since xenoblade 2! I can't wait for the lost vanguard guide as I've been trying to get that class to work in post-game but not sure about the optimal setup.
I've been combining this class on Taion with Full Metal Jaguar on Eunie for thematic reasons. I think it's fitting that they're an Ouroboros pair, and they both get a class that wields dual guns on top of having a damage increase that caps out at 200% (at least). Yesterday, with my setup, I managed to get over 20 million damage in a Chain Attack against the Dragon Superboss and I wasn't even fully optimal. Strategos wasn't the only contributor obviously, but with Healers never going past 99%, it was fun constantly spamming him and watching a Healer do Attacker-level damage consistently. As a disclaimer, I was playing on Easy mode due to my setup not being perfected yet. My planned setup is Noah: Swordfighter Mio: Lone Exile (directly controlled) Eunie: Full Metal Jaguar Taion: Strategos Lanz: Signifer Sena: Flash Fencer With the exception of Signifer, I mostly chose these for aesthetic reasons, but they're so fun. Edit: Changed Full Metal Jaguar to Incursor due to better consistency in addition to the Sword Attacker theme I have going. Kept Strategos though because it's fun. Also, I swapped Eunie and Taion's classes due to stats (however negligible they may be) as well as the fact that Taion starts with more TP in Chain Attacks. I have manage to do over 39 million damage in a Chain Attack since. Edit 2: This setup doesn't even exist anymore. I've been changing things up constantly trying to find my best setup. I have managed over 53 million damage in a chain attack.
@@ColdspaceDog Honestly, I just put Lanz on Signifer because 1) He's the S-Rank 2) Mio's my favorite character, and I wanted to actually play as Lone Exile.

I recently found out that sources of random buffs, like Cry of Faith, do not actually count towards Prowess Gambit. You're better off using Glittering Melody, since it does stack it, and it's just a really useful art overall.

I think even with what's available tho u could prolly make something really good out of it
Super late to the party, but do we know how the damage boost from buff applications actually works? Like, is it per buff applied to an ally or is it per buffing action you perform? Because if it's the former you'd get 6 stacks right at the start of a fight if you get a preemptive and buff everyone with Attack Up, no? I wouldn't complain if that was the case because I adore this class but yeah I'm curious now lol Phenomenal guide as always btw, your XC2 guides made me appreciate that game so much more and I'm finding the same to be true for this game as well. Prowess Gambit stacks *once* per buff application, regardless of how many party members receive the buff. Buffing only yourself does not grant any stacks. It is also worth noting that sources of random buffs DO NOT grant stacks, so using Cry of Faith does not benefit Prowess Gambit.

Some characters are better than others with classes, like all the characters are best at their specific class but otherwise it really does not matter who is what. A character being a Class really only matters for Mio with Signifier and thats more to do with Interlinking with Noah and being able to pass Invincibility to everyone. As said, it really does not matter who is what. Outside of some slight stat differences which don’t really matter.

Why not run Energy Grenade on Agnus Healers? Yah its not GOOD but it is an extra field and its not like Agnus healers have a plethora of options. (also its very funny on Trobador becuse you can get SOOO much Talent Guage with all the Art Recharge it has)
I think the reason is that most healers already have one field effect in their kit, so you would have to sacrifice/waste both a master skill (for the "All-About-Support" one) and a master art (energy grenade) slot just to activate your talent arts a bit faster...
True true, especially on a class like this one. I’m just saying that it would double the rate of Talent Charge and plenty of Talent Arts are really good. Just not a discussion I see around a lot
Well with this class you only need to use Cry of Faith once to max out your damage bonus. 30*7*2 is 420, which overshoots it by a lot. Cry of Faith is still good, but you don't need it after that, especially if you have a Sig or Troub doing a much better version of the same thing.
The thing I struggle the most is which character should get which class. I don't know if the impact is to significant but there has to be some optimization in terms of fulfilling their role
I'm not sure if there is in terms of stat optimisation actually. Obviously, each character is the best with their base class, but outside of that, I haven't noticed many stat variations (for example, if I have lanz and mio as the same class, lanz has slightly more HP, and mio has slightly more agility but again, the differences are mostly minor).
Would you consider doing a video of ideal party comp? Like everyone using the class their stats complement with a balanced mix of attack, defense, and offense
When it comes to superboss cheese people go for these smash builds. Look up Naz Talgic's swordfighter video. In a non-cheesy ways I go for 3 Attackers, 2 Healers, 1 Defender. Others prefer 4 Attackers and 2 Healers.
The pronunciation of the ‘g’ is dictated by the letter following it. In the case of vowels, it’s a soft ‘g’ (sounds like ‘j’) when followed by e, i, y. Conversely, it’s a hard ‘g’ when followed by a, o, u. Even so, Enel’s pronunciation is still wrong. He emphasises the third syllable when it’s the second syllable that should be stressed - ‘stra-TAY-goss’.

@@archedmash9501 alternatively you can also buy Gem upgrades. Personally that’s what I went for just because of how expensive level 10 is
Buying a rank 10 gem is the best use for them
Enel please make a party composition recommendation please
I thought his weapon was supposed to be a pair of tonfas...until he started shooting :|
where are you finding unique monsters this strong? the strongest i found was lvl 120 after completing ionios strongest
When you rematch superbosses you have to click 'challenge' to have its level increased
One of the cooler looking weapons
Will all party members be fine no matter what classes they get or do the party members have particular strenghts and weaknesses?
Some characters are better than others with classes, like all the characters are best at their specific class but otherwise it really does not matter who is what.
A character being a Class really only matters for Mio with Signifier and thats more to do with Interlinking with Noah and being able to pass Invincibility to everyone.
As said, it really does not matter who is what. Outside of some slight stat differences which don’t really matter.
@@mrbubbles6468 just to add about sig. You probably want it on someone with a chain order you don't intend to lose as using the SIGs chain order will make them lose power charge
@@_Sinduss Yeah, and that also works out for Mio. If you have a Signifer, Taion and Eunie's ouroboros finisher is most likely the best one, and Mio's chain order isn't that good anyway.
@@lued123 Yes this is true. Only problems with Mio is you probably want to go Noah, Taion, Eunie. In the final non ouroboros round there is a small chance (25%)you won't get Eunie or Taion and will have to go Mio to get the ouroboros round. This is pretty minor though.
Lanz is also a good choice for sig as his chain order is also pretty useless
I AM RELENTLESS
My Strategos doesn't have Moondog?
Is that a newgame+ thing? (I'm on my first playthrough)
Edit: nevermind I am fckin blind 😂
Isurd has such a good voice, am I alone in thinking that?
no, I love his voice.
"I AM RELENTLESS!"
Now thats strategy!
You haven’t done lost vanguard yet !!
Fair point, its bad in this class but
A. I meant Agnus Healers in gneral like Tacticion
and B. I can't math but I like button go brrr
@@captianblitz Yeah it's a decent option in most cases.
@@matthewstone2319matters mostly for chain attacks with tp
Would you consider doing a video of ideal party comp? Like everyone using the class their stats complement with a balanced mix of attack, defense, and offense
When it comes to superboss cheese people go for these smash builds. Look up Naz Talgic's swordfighter video.
In a non-cheesy ways I go for 3 Attackers, 2 Healers, 1 Defender. Others prefer 4 Attackers and 2 Healers.
Wait why is it pronounced that way when it’s derived from the word “strategy”??
The pronunciation of the ‘g’ is dictated by the letter following it. In the case of vowels, it’s a soft ‘g’ (sounds like ‘j’) when followed by e, i, y. Conversely, it’s a hard ‘g’ when followed by a, o, u. Even so, Enel’s pronunciation is still wrong. He emphasises the third syllable when it’s the second syllable that should be stressed - ‘stra-TAY-goss’.
The best strategy is subscribe to the handsome lad Enel
Let it Rip!!
So this is just green dps
NO LOVE LOST
What I was sure that it was pronounced stratejhos
You don't have luck. They translate strategeos in my langage
Tactician but better. That’s not saying much though.
It's pronounced Strategoose :P
Wrong again lol. The correct pronunciations are ‘stra-TEE-goss’ or ‘stra-TAY-goss’.
