Former Allfather coming to terms with becoming a washed up ancient
Proud economist/evil player here. For me it feels so satisfying to just sit back, play defensive, and watch the world burn behind the walls as your city-fortress slowly turns into a grand rich metropolis.
Problem with that is, if the opponent knows you like to do that shit, they can just do the same and grow their eco freely, and without walling cause they know you wont attack. So they will be ahead

@@dirkauditore8413 we’ll just drag out the fight until they ragequit
Dang, I never thought my self has been evil. But you make a good case against us.
F**ck you everyone of you.
I was excepting a laid back top 10 players videos like other UA-camrs made but yours is so aesthetic, well narrated and fun!!
Damn... I feel so identified with the ancient. Hahaha. We are getting old guys u.u
Evil most of the time. Because for me it's the easiest way to play, and the most relaxing, I have 0 fucks about a match lasting more than 90 minutes. I'm here to admire my defenses, even if said defense is not a wall but just a line of Mammoth tanks with deployed Rigs at the back
" I have 0 fucks about a match lasting more than 90 minutes" - .. MADNESS!
@@lenlenlena1841 which is the reason why I don't play multiplayer anymore in CNC.
-Quit already please?
-This is not sim city
-You left your team mates to lose just so you can build a base that is perfectly symmetrical?
-why would you make a base that follows the roads in the city?
I will not stand for shitty looking bases. If the map is a city, I will damn well have my structures look like part of the city. So that my victory looks sweeter.
The round only ends when my walls are adjacent to your own, or when my Grand Cannons are already hitting your troops right out of your barracks/war factory
If I don't like your base. It gets blown up, if I like it... spam engineers and steal everything.
@@lenlenlena1841 just because we build impressive bullwarks, focus on longevity and can break tides of enemies don´t mean we are evil.
I have the knowledge of a librarian, the mindset of a talented, but play like an economist with the skill of an ancient
I’m a librarian, I mostly make scenario worlds then actually play multiplayer
How do i stop being the broken player?
The best advice I’ve heard for this is to watch your replays. In games you win see what you did right and how your play style differs from when you lose. When you lose, try to pinpoint where things went wrong as well as look at what your opponent did to beat you. Find areas that you can improve and learn to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Also watch higher ranked players and take note of how they play.
Finally, improve your mental. Idk how to give advice on that though…
@@Arakiven thanks bro... ill do that
Meditate before playing :D
Don't. Broken players are based.
@@lenlenlena1841 not enough patience to meditate lol
I think somewhere within Broken and Evil. I always liked walls and now I'm getting better at pillarless walls. I surviving a rush behind my wall and then sending cav into an unwalled base.
I think I would be somewhere between the Librarian and the Talented. I love being creative and playing the challenges, but I also really dig into the mechanical knowledge of a game. My go to is AoE3. Recently I built my own personal build guide builder for planning home city decks, age ups, and early game step-by-step set up. When I'm bored, sometimes I pull it up on my phone and just make a new deck and build order for fun.
Favorite civs: China, the Ottoman, Haudenosaunee, and the U.S.
Any tips on when we got ganged up?
I was sitting throughout most of the video wondering where is my turtling player type. Then I got to The Evil and felt called out. I mean, I am the reason my friends don't allow gas giants in Planetary Annihilation, so it's justified. I love playing defensive civilizations, like Russia and Japan. I am a mix of The Evil and Stalemate.
After some input from a friend, I am an Evil Librarian. The end game is mine.
Ouch, the Broken Player one hit home... xD
You are not alone
Unfortunately I play AoE3: Definitive Edition on Mac so I'm forced to be a librarian...
Hey guys, enjoy the video! Thanks for your patience and lots of love.
In sheer awe at this editing quality man. Like I enjoy your videos even more than Spiritofthelaw's lol
@@prueba9a956 Ahh what a compliment. Especially because the content quality hasn’t even reached 30% of where I want it to be. Really wanna make some incredible videos for you.
I'm somewhat of a hybrid between a librarian and ancient.
I guess I'm something of a librarian. I like to learn a game, figuring out what things do before I do them, and what the best way to play each civ is. However, I tend to only play singleplayer or campaigns, only playing multiplayer with my brothers. It's a pleasant experience.
Almost all of them except 1 and 2. Boomy sometimes, rusher sometimes, incredibly rigid, incredibly flexible in choosing civs, plays 1v 1 but also love playing against the Ai, campaigns or friendly coops depending on my mood. I am neither a pro nor give advice to anyone on how to improve. Sometimes pretty broken and sometimes overpowered. I don't know how to categorise myself. Choice of civs? Sweden, Japan, Ottomans, Mongols and HRE in aoe4.
The editing here is top notch, I know how hard it is to get the footage you want, good job sir!
I'm the RTS player who trains infantry a little bit too much. I play mostly Sweden. 🇸🇪
I'd say im something of an evil turtle for the most part as i prefer to bleed my opponent's strength on my defenses but unlike turtles i will launch sneaky raids from time to time
I guess I am sort of an evil, economist, librarian but it usually depends on what civ I feel like playing.
I will comment on this, I guess I am an Evil Librarian, since I have most of the stats in AOE3 memorized and I play the game for historicity, I especially love the civs with exotic languages, compared to my L1 English and L2 Mandarin (I adore whatever the Maltese are saying lol).
But with that said, my main is China, because like, duh, and thus, I will spend, I would say at least 60 minutes building a wall across the entire map and lining it with war academies, prioritizing my building defense cards, and all the while, slowly building up a small task force of Mongol Keshiks and Steppe Riders, waiting for a chance to strike my opponents' factories or wonders.
I actually call my strategy "Shoreline", as I want my enemy to crash against my walls, waste all their men trying to take it, only for the tide to go out and my Steppe Riders just follow them straight to their base. This strategy doesn't always work, especially against "I train infantry instantly" Russia or against the Incans who like refuse to engage, meaning you both kinda sit there with maxed pop, 30,000 in each resource, 60+ minutes spent, but only like 1 brief attack lol.
Ngl I expect 'that 1000 apm starcraft player' category. Someone who can perfectly move their individual unit but always get pop capped 100 times in a single game.
11) Koreans
Eco (autistic base building), Broken (i suck and can't follow through), Librarian (I loved Comp Stomp in the old days)
A mix of the following:
#10 Ancient: been playing RTS since Dune 2, AOE1, Warcraft1,RedAlert2, CNC: Tiberian Sun. Definitely NOT new to RTS lol
#8 Bullies: my bros and friends are usually Rushers in AOE4 for example
#6: Talented RTS Player: Not sure about talent lol, but yes I do try to finish all the Seasonal Event achievements in AOE3DE and unlock all Co-Op commanders/masteries in Starcraft 2. Also, I do like to use decks/builds of units not much used in the "current" meta.
#5: Librarian: Never 1-to-1, yep... basically me. Slow APM yep yep >_<
#3: Stalemate: Not really improving my skills, except for in AOE4 to be more helpful with brothers.
i'm a newbie and i'm playing AOE1
Thanks again for a great video! Really enjoyed this one. Your analysis was was very accurate. I see myself as one or at least two of these types.
Much beauty, Not usually do I find RTS channels with unique styles like you, Truly a gem that no usual sight can adore.
Thank you so much for this comment, videos will only get better, so it's great that you enjoy them. Thanks again for your kind words.
Did not expect you to have MMA references like Ronda Rousey or Derek Brunson. Brunson isn't a household name so this is a deep cut! You've accidentally revealed that you are somewhat of a hardcore MMA fan. Keep it up it's great!
Hey man, i'm happy someone picked up on the mma references hehe. I'm quite a fan. My favourite atheletes are kelvin gatstelum & tony ferguson.
Really glad you enjoyed the video.
I'd call myself a librarian because I play with friends against AI, but I don't have much knowledge lol.
OMG THE PRODUCTION QUALITY
Edit: btw im turtle malta evil 😂 but i do hate wall spam. Due to game engine it makes ur game 40fps even u have 3090 Ti
Hmm…..I think I am a mixed of little parts of 3 types in RTS,
1. Eco for playing in my own land and having a very good economy
2.librarians for campaign/vs ai/ team pvp only and NOT solo pvp player type
3.evil for only defensive strategies in my own territory(not really an expansion into enemy territory type) and upgrades everything before attacking.
So yeah…I think I am more of a super economic support only defensive team type of player I guess.🤔🤔🤔
Took words out of my mouth. But evil only when playing with my closest friend.(I don't know why)
I use to be a bully with USA, FF marines to be exactly. Now i only look for fun and new strats, i mostly go mercs becouse its a "never now what you are gonna get" and i try to combine mercs + new strats depending the units i get.
I’m a Librarian mixed with Economist, but without the super Encyclopedic knowledge.
1v1 even against Hard AI I get steamrolled in the early game. But if I can make it to late game, I can then outplay the AI. But man, getting past that first 15 minutes…
I'm a kind of Economist and Librarian type. It's amazing seeing all that insane production and beautiful aesthetics and compare it to real life empires and thinking "dang, I did".
Amigo! pero que pedazo de video! joder colega, espero y llegues a crecer mas en youtube, deberías de compartir este video en la comunidad de starcraft o de warcraft haber si alguno de ellos se anima a conocer el AOE 3, saludos y buena salud!
I'm definitely Economist, with elements of Evil. I'm just so damn paranoid, so I'm always stockpiling resources and throwing up defences everywhere. Every position swiftly secured, every army readily replaced.
Seems only logical.
I typically never watch a video all the way through, because I'm VERY impatient. But I didn't realize it but I watched this entire video.
I'm most certainly a Librarian btw.
That's amazing! Good to hear. I'm the broken player in case you were wondering.
Very nice comment
At least I’m an aggressive evil. Depending on the game I tend to rush to take position then build fortifications to make you bleed if you wanna gain resources.
The troll. A player who has little to no incentive to to win but will spam garbage units, massive walls, and generally make the game more difficult for Allie’s and enemies alike.
Rarely plays competitive but every group has that one friend.
I thought the trolls went extinct a few years back.
Theallfather is like a scientist
I'm an economist, though I do know my way around a micro. I do also need to be more aggressive, as I regularly play with an evil player and a generally skilled all-rounder in the same game. It usually results in me booming, being scary as the other two duke it out, then getting hit by both of them even as I dissect one of their armies.
I would say that i’m an ancien but I also recognize myself in the other types of players, great video.
God I love aoe 3
I think I'm similar to the librarian, but I share the passion for creativity with the Talented. I enjoy single player much more than multi, but I also like trying out wacky stuff, or even role-playing and behaving according to whatever narrative the game happens to be in.
I'm librarian/turtle with a bit of economist, and I can may say ancient too since I play RTS since nearly 20 years (I was playing warcraft 2 back in first school lol)
I almost exclusively play solo, never multi except sometimes with friends. I do enjoy playing campaigns for lore and stuff, and by that getting the knowledge on units, stats, counter and stuff, and I developed the turtle style because it''s the most efficient against AI in solo campaigns most of the time.
When it comes to multiplayer there is always 2 outcomes with me :
- I either getting rushed and dies in early game because I mostly focus on developping my economy and technologies to have the most efficient stuff, lacking soldiers to defend
- I'm let in peace to develop myself and then I'm nearly unstoppable at late game with my bunkered base and fully upgraded army
Damn even I might be Indentified as a Librarian, due to literally having a long essay about the ins and out of a Russian Musketeer in the AoE3 Subreddit.
The bees: They keep to themselfs till you attack them, then they come after you full force.
Maybe im ancient evil? I started playing since aoe1, i like to play bulgarians from aoe2 who are defensive and then overrun opponent with superior army
as economist and defensive player, I am loved by my team members because I can spare resources to them and cover them
dominant rush player. I am very agresive and i tend to start fighting since the start for the map control, if you arent doing that too, your base will start being attacked to weaking your late game, as the same time i eco throught the map control and i love get my oponent corner.
Thats doesnt mean that i will rush your base to try to do a risky win; I just want to fight and win combats
Quite an economist, I am. Mixed with some librarian and junior pro :).
I don't know that Walls can be so hard to penetrate on AoE3. I never built them except during an event.
This was great, got some good chuckles from me.
You missed the 11th type though, the total newb, which is what I am.
Great list. Definitely an economist over here
Guess I'm a the stalemate player, really hesitated to learn new civ to play.
I am a mix of turtle eco and tallented
Kinda happy that I found myself at the futur pro, even if ?im really far away. I really want to improve since I came back in the game, first by looking your video!
When motivated to play well and try, all father, when bored, the evil
Accurate, I love it
Im of the stalemates just a couples od strategys but I always blame the game 🤣
Hurt me to Say... But I being a bully for a longtime... I prefer agressive quick strategies, however with time I have learned to enjoy slow games, and no quitting after a failed rush.
This mostly came with my found love for AI Skirmishes
A Derrick Brunson reference you have earned my sub
I'm currently the economist but it's funny to know my old style of play is labeled as evil, like I had no idea that I caused that amount of distain
I have a bit of echo, bullies and talent rts. I always echo and boom early, in midgame I go full aggressive, and I like to try new strategies until I find the best ones
To be honest i love playing against the turtling evil. undisrupted space dominance and slowly sieging and taking the soul out of someone is something that i like the most.
I am the bullie, I love to rush and always play to win! Offence is the best defense
You are very correct! Evil player would maybe disagree though.
@@lenlenlena1841 or I usually am a single player only type, I love skirmish matches vs AI, 2v2 on maps with only one acces point. It's fun this way.
Hello I've been a stalemate player in starcraft 2(diamond 3) the reason why I stayed is because being at my current level is the perfect mix of an inperfect meta together with new and creative strategies. If I was lower MMR it would be to easy and too "noob" but the unexpected strategies and playstyles is abundant and if I'm high MMR I'd be a slave to the meta game learning all build orders and meta strats, giving less innovation and more expected strategies. Average MMR is a good rank to be at
For sure im the evil player love play defensive, attack when all preperation done or lure enemy to trap then destroy them once for all,
As a turtle I feel called out
But still it's the most efficient way to utilize the Geneva checklist
We are librarians with my friends, we play vs AI only :)
Definite economist with a bit of librarian
5/7 video. Keep making more.
I am ancient, but I'm a casual player, never really got into the competitive multiplayer scene. Rise of nations was one where I was a bit competitive though.
Mu ah ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!
I think that says it all. 😀
To be fair, I do like to come up with my own adaptations to strategies as well.
Basically, not the top dog, but like playing them to improve my game.
The economist. Also for the longest time i was of a type you fail to mentions, the nationalist: always play the civilisation culturally nearer to his own nations. Nowadays, i learn the difference between playing another culture and cultural appropriation but at the price of becoming a bit of a stalemate.
Personally I would be an economist, bookseller, and evil. Even if I become a little more aggressive.
Men im probably a evil and economists and librarian one i just start in defenses 1st and and maintaining the economy in 2nd and checking which unit i need to use so i can build a massive army to attack my enemy and defend my base
I feel called out by the stalemate and I don't even play RTS games
Definitively librarian, i like to know all about the game even made some mods of my own
Evil librarian here. I just like building my base in peace and enjoy seeing waves of enemy AI get destroyed by my defenses.
I hate that this is almost all about multiplayer RTS gamers, when surveys and data show that 90% of RTS players are single player only.
"There's really only two types of RTS players. Noobs and GPs. Everything else is straight up baddie propaganda." ~ an Ancient Turtle Savant, bringer of great salt, slayer of Alfathers, the SLoWesT kid in RTS history.
Longtime Stalemate due to outside circumstances. Been trying to get out of it but I haven't dedicated enough time to it.
I'm an eco, turtle player that only plays against AI.
I am a Son of Dorn, yellow is my color.
I want to be a good and balanced player, but deep in my heart, I just want to tower rush everyone. T-T
I’m the evil all father. Few to none, even within the top 100, have even a chance at defeating me in my chosen RTS of halo wars2, and I never end anyone. Just force em to suffer endlessly until I notice they have fatigued and are no longer improving. Then I wipe em away. Favorite troll is let em take all the bases on the map and push and destroy all my bases before walking up and ever so slowly taking back the map inch by inch over a couple hours
Really nice video! A+ aesthetic, as always. Here's an interesting question for you all: how far back do you have to go to be considered an ancient? I've been playing RTS since Age of Conquerors and C&C: Zero Hour, so I figure I'm pretty firmly in the ancient category.
librarian average APM but plays casually. idk why am i craving for more game mechanics/information.
I prefer the term power gamer to evil though I go for passive stacking bonuses well sabotaging your economy and laying traps. If you play Magic think Blue/White combo
Eh, I'm a librarian apparently! Nice video mate!
Are exploiters (using bugs, hidden/unintended features/mechanics, and cheese) part of the RTS players?
I mean... they might need their own tier next to the evil players :D
im kinda a librarian/evil player, dont play pvp often, but defense in depth is my go to strat
i am the ancient one, but without the being good part
So you say Turtle is evil? I say Turtle is Salvation.
I guess i would be economist BUT, i keep a good sizeable force just in case.
Me playing Warcraft 3 for the first time after having played Empire Earth and Age of Empires 2: where are the walls, why does it not have walls?!
Guess I'm the evil/eco type, though I only play single player modes.
wew im bullies and economist
I know this is geared towards AoE but tbh a lot of this fits the Total War franchise to a T lmao
This was actually with civilization 6 and Total War partially in mind, the only reason they weren't added in terms of video footage is because they are turn based.
I was the broken player but then I sat down with pen and paper looked up a build order guide and wrote it all down now I study it in a match vs ai to warm up then take it to the live ranked matches! I’m winning already woot woot
probably the economist, forget to build armies, especially with Sweden. Play against a evil turtle, very frustrating, 4 forts
And millions of walls >:(
I’m definitely a librarian to the dot!
