Age of Empires II has some pretty decent mods right now, like Romae ad Bellum or the Dharma expansion. There also seems to be a pretty ambitious mod for called Hfs Rebalancement which is playable, but we have yet to hear from the modder about their future ambitions for it.
I've recently gotten into AoE3 and it is severely underrated. The Card system is so unique and allows for so much customization. One thing I really want from the AoE series is for them to put a keybind system that can work for all 3 games. I would love to jump between games, but maintaining the muscle memory for all of them is difficult.
How many (remaining) competent RTS studios are there ? I blame Sega for mismanaging Relic's projects, another publisher could do better (like Microsoft manages AoE).
I just hope for a 'normal' RTS game at this point. Something that doesn't try to be different than any other game. DORF, BAR and Sanctuary look like my kind of thing, I just hope they will allow us to zoom out in DORF. But Stormgate? What I've seen and heard so far is they want to make a very micro-intensive game designed for multiplayer and that's not something I care about anymore.
BAR is pretty solid, If you played the old ta or supreme commander games it will feel very much like those. and thats not a bad thing with a few nice additions.
Great video man, RTS games have always been one of my most beloved game types to play perhaps even more than FPS games. Here’s hope for a future full of wonderful and fun RTS games!

Absolutely! Great to see you in here :) Just don't mind find the out of focus opening shots... external monitor was 1m away and I was alone with a manual lens aha
Anyone heard of Rise and fall civilizations at war... Game is released in 2006., its way ahead of its time. Graphics are today standards, looks awesome in 4k 60 fps.
Had an old Age 3 Artbook that came with my copy of Age 3 (got stolen by my classmate when they came over to do a project, they didn't even contribute much), the original plan for Age 4 was suppose to be WW2 but I guess CoH got that market cornered at the time. Age 5 was suppose to be Sci-fi, I really hope they could try it any way cuz it look mighty interesting.
While this plan for Age 4 and Age 5 was never really set in stone you could argue that the closest we got to a sci-fi Age of Empires 5 game is Halo Wars. It was made by Ensemble Studios the original developers of AOE1, AOE2, AOE3 and Age of Mythology.

I honestly gone myself still playing C&C Generals: Shockwave. It's one of those rare mods that just feels like what the game was intended to be.
We just got teased with SC getting some love a day or two ago.
The best thing that can happen to dawn of war and company of heroes is if relic shuts down and an actually competent studio develops the next titles.
How many (remaining) competent RTS studios are there ?
I blame Sega for mismanaging Relic's projects, another publisher could do better (like Microsoft manages AoE).
If your looking for something to cover stronghold itch "They are Billions" is my favourite. Frost punk is a unique game aswell
an RTS from Germany is also coming-2089 Space Divided-is still in development with the community
@@starhaven1881 Seems like it. If they make a decent SP Campaign then it's going to be a must buy.
Great video man, RTS games have always been one of my most beloved game types to play perhaps even more than FPS games. Here’s hope for a future full of wonderful and fun RTS games!
if you like total annihilation/supreme commander you need to try beyond all reason and its free.. it is a modernised TA and ive never seen an rts withe this level of in depth control and qol features
:) thank you!
What’s in the glass?
Live action video levelling up I see 👌
Absolutely! Great to see you in here :)
Just don't mind find the out of focus opening shots... external monitor was 1m away and I was alone with a manual lens aha
Anyone heard of Rise and fall civilizations at war... Game is released in 2006., its way ahead of its time. Graphics are today standards, looks awesome in 4k 60 fps.
Love your content man.
Thank you
Had an old Age 3 Artbook that came with my copy of Age 3 (got stolen by my classmate when they came over to do a project, they didn't even contribute much), the original plan for Age 4 was suppose to be WW2 but I guess CoH got that market cornered at the time.
Highly recommend Beyond All Reason :)
Just waiting for aom retold, aom is my favorite rts and i am so excited for it next year, i still play aom extended edition (dont buy the Chinese dlc) i suck at rts games but i love the genre
Did you hear about C&C Legion? What a slap in the face to the franchise.
Is a German English speaking Channel on UA-cam called back to Warcraft. They are casting Warcraft tournaments still. Plus there is a league of Warcraft gamers in Germany battling it out like soccer teams each season
i'm very intrigued by sanctuary (and a little sad that i discovered it NOW)
Great Video, personally im looking foreward to Broken Arrow!
Brilliant. Video. I'm replying DOW2 at the moment. Cheers.
