396 health with 40% range resist is effectively 660 health on each one of those coureurs. It takes 35 carolean shots to kill one. And only 14 shots from a cdb to kill a carolean. Absolute chad units
If you send the Pioneer card, wilderness warfare card, and northwest passage card. And research the blunderbuss plus great coat from the market. Then go with the Canadian revolution as the French. You'll get french courear des bois that hit as hard as age 4 skirms. They'll also have slightly more HP than age 4 skirms. And they can also build things. *make sure to temporarily disable easy drag military if you go Canada though for easy Coureur des bois selection. If you really want to be a jerk then send the stonemasons card. Then with 5 or 10 coueur des bois you can drop walls, towers, and military buildings on top of your opponent faster than they can tear them down. And basically make a ring of death around their TC. Which is doubly effective, because that canadian revolution also lets you train two seige heavy native units from your embassy. The infamous Nootka clubmen, and the under appreciated Huron mantlet. so if you drop down your two to 3 native embassies outside their base then you can siege down towers and TC's no problem.
13:28 Let's disregard for a moment the fact the Caroleans are only facing villagers in this stand-off, and let me say how I think it was a huge mistake for red not to switch to melee mode against units with 400 hp and 40% resistance to range.
Funny thing sir Drongo, my younger brother would play as the French and beat a normal AI with only Courier des Bois. With no revolution. He liked playing wacky from time to time. Glad to see such strats being viable and fun.
As a casual player those genius 'toxic' strats bring a lot of fresh air, and are actually funny. It was thrilling to see Don roll over Kaiserklein and triggering him along with your commentary. I hope he gets over the salt and back into tournaments with custom strats like that. It is not as if Don made the imbalances in the game. Watching Kynesie walling everything with ports is super funny as well, you really feel the pain / disgust of their opponents. Don's write-up provided a great insight on the current ESOC series, I hope to see him back in aoe3!
Given how close this was, I think Sweden would have won had he remembered to charge the cdb and engage in melee. Nullifies their resistance and caroleans have great melee attack too.
Yeah if you see both Pioneers and Wilderness Warfare in the same French Deck, train some hand cav. Win by not committing to any fight. Those cdbs are amazing tanks, but they're even more amazing gatherers, so you win by economy. Lakota players would probably be all too familiar with this strat.
We know what is gonna happen was said at the start of the round, so correct me if i am wrong: French settlers gonne be strong against Caroleans, but they Counter the French Heavy Cav, but kinda loose against the Frecnh Skirms.....? I´d say the French Eco is gonna be stronger in the lategame, but Sweden hat the stronger early/mid eco, because Torps are love Am i right so far? ^^
You have to set up the hotkey, in the section Find Units, look for Find All of The Selected Type. Also, if you selected all the walls, you should see two types os buildings in the selection, typically the higher number is the Pillar, because if you build 2 sections of walls, there should be 3 pillars and 2 sections, if you CTRL-Click that, you'll isolate the selection on the pillars and can delete them.

Other civs: i can do a revolution and use my settler for fighting
France: so?
Now imagine theese boys with canada revolt :D
France: I am the revolution

don't forget, that they also have 13 melee damage
@@IschmarVI Carolean has 20 melee.

Geez. If this happened to me, I would be more tilted than an arcade in an earthquake!
holy crap don is a beast!! i wanna give this a go myself.

Always a good time watching Don!
You can even win with an *AGE I Villager Rush* against the AI.
It will move no villager inside the TC -> you can pick up the enemy vills 1 by 1 !
hey question @drongo or anyone. is there an aoe3:DE hotkey cheat sheet i could pull up on my other monitor to help me get better? Thanks
Love your casted videos, would love to see more!

Oh my gee that was awesome. I'm gonna try that CDB rush for sure!!!
Question: Would the Swedes benefit from rushing in with the melee attack against the Coureur des bois?
Definitely, couriers have range resist notmelee
those french vills have 0.40 range resistance damn
almost as fun as a native american villager revolution with warrior culture

Wow, I've never seen that before!
Crazy one game! i love it
Hey what is the hotkey to select all the towers of a wall? When i double clik, it's select also the walls

you have to manually change the hotkey
Very close match-up.
Awesome creative play!! Even better that it beat the Swedes

@@AussieDrongo that's it, I'm calling Thor
"Coureur des bois" would also benefit from better pronunciation. "Coureur" is two syllables (roughly "koo-rewr"), not one ("kwer").
