Wow living in Florida for the past 35 years and working on the fire department in Jacksonville we use to see these FHP Mustangs on I-10 all the time for motor vehicle crashes. What i like is these FHP mustangs they are manual transmissions. These FHP mustangs are sweet.
Congratulations to Matt! Looks like it has everything to bring it back to its original condition, and Matt has that stock of cars sitting outside from which to pick the fenders and front end! A Fox Resto Channel would be very cool! where do I subscribe?
Nice! I lived in Tampa, Florida for about 3 months with my brother back in the mid 90's. I remember seeing those mustangs all over the place, especially on the interstates!
@@GearHead704 I used to see them in the late 80's and maybe even the early 90's when we would drive to Texas to visit my grandparents and extended family. The Highway Patrol Mustangs in Texas were brown and white or brown and beige/cream as I remember them. Ugly paint job, but they did look pretty awesome otherwise. We did not have the Mustang Highway patrol cars here in podunk Arkansas. LOL.
something about those 5.0 fhp they just screw with u. totally legal but u see one back in the day and it just gives u pause. most trooper presence car ever! that car says try me, u loose!
I have a real deal 1993 cobra upper and lower intake. I also recently bought a used GT 40 tubular with a lower that has been ported by T.MOSS ,BUT i do not have the upper plaque. Most people poted out of buying those back in the day. Those plaques are becoming hard to get.
Matt, tell Matt to go on SpecialServiceMustang.net if he hasn't done so yet. There is a lot of information on the SSPs and he may find someone that knows this car! This is where I went to find out more about my CHP. Very helpful guys on this website. And they can account for his car if it isn't already. There is a list of all the SSPs that are still around a buddy has drawn up on the website as well.
I just bought an 89 FHP. I’d love to find out the unit number. Any idea where I could start my search? I’ve heard the titles at auction had them listed. Not sure how I can find an image or copy of it.
FHP SSP name, "Orange Peel" At 6:29 that "dummy light" quadrant Matt's thumb is on, that's the part I need for my fox. Would he sell it, or does Fox Resto have one with the ribbon?? I need one to finish my interior Resto.
I was cracking up a little at the beginning of the video because you had on your gloves. No holes in 'em either. Then you guys started looking in the FHP and touching things. I noticed you weren't wearing gloves. LOL. Mice poop and squirrel nuts were in abundance. Ha Ha! Seriously though I will be one of the first to subscribe when Matt(FMR) starts his channel. Let me check now. Take care buddy! I'm going to enjoy the build on this car as well.
Hah hah, I think I just took them off as I was wrapping up another video and forgot to take them off before starting this one LOL. His channel is live. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/channels/nY6xRiPuH7j81jcgMytALw.html

Well at this time in point I was so was so green about Mustang's about the frame rails on my 92 GT were shot I had a perfect car to swap the wiring harness was still there I could of but I didn't no about all that stuff man I rotten frame rails if not I would of had a 90 LX I could always use the GT KIT on the LX but I didn't know because if I would of knew about It would of just swapped motors out of the GT dropped it in the LX in had a rust free car a black interior car no rips in the head liner I had a perfect place to swap the motors in everything!! But I was green didn't know I like my GT plenty of cargo room if u need it!! Well anyway I have the black door panels they r in decent shape I have the rear black sail panels for my notch to the plastics that go in next to ur rear seats I got really lucky on them I was talking to a guy about some other parts in some how he said I think I have a set of real black sail panels in my shield pulled them out I said how much he said $20 I said no way I said could u ship them he said where do u live I told him shipping something like that would of cost like a $100 if not it was still worth it I seen people want $500 for the pair with broken screw holes!! Mine didn't have no broken wholes well anyway the guy said I will have them at ur house 10 the next morning he was almost 2 hours away he said he burned a 1/4 tank of gas to get here so I gave him the $100 well worth it!! I have the black carpet out of the 90 lx I want to get new carpet but I have to see how that looks in the car! My head liner was perfect in my car when I got it now it's starting to sag pretty bad so I might take a re do it myself I have a black console to I would like to go with a black and tan theme I don't know I wish the black Vents didn't fall apart from all the moving the dash around over year's I have a black dash pad goes over top the glove box I wish I had the A/C vents in black to drop in the tan dash cause I don't want to spray my dashboard black I have 2 black seats for the front back seat lmr sells Corbeau upper and lower covers I think I can do it if not a rear seat delete LOL!!!. But that was a awesome find on that car it still has all the OEM parts on it except the alternator!!! Matt truly sorry how long my comment is I just like to share but next time they won't be so long !! Promise
I only have 3 of those Cobra R Wheels on right now! LOL. That's how it goes when you are learning about these cars. You don't always know everything you need to. I've done that myself. I'm still figuring out exactly what i'm going to do with my interior as well. Yeah Matt's FHP is gonna be sweet when he gets it done. I've been late on responding to comments this week, but i'm catching up tonight.
Yeah let fisherman jon rebuild the rearend for Matt I'm sure that he will appreciate the extra help and it will give fisherman jon more camera time and get him a big cheak full of chew tobacco to calm his nerves and he will get it done and if he does good enough I'll send mine up and let him build mine cause mine is going to have to be narrowed and built with disc brakes but I have faith in good ol Fisherman Jon 😂🤣🎣👨🌾

Oh that's awesome and a LONG time to have it! Cool. My FHP is an 88.

Agreed, looking forward to bringing y'all more updates.
A lot of work ahead for Matt on the FHP. Looking forward to that.
Yeah, gonna be a cool build. He actually had it at Foxtoberfest this year. You might have seen it.
@@GearHead704 I probably did see it
I have a 1988 FHP, very similar. These cars a getting more and more rare....... I have the full history of mine. Unit 1081.
Oh man, it's awesome that you have the history. I most enjoy that SSPs got a very full and used life for the most part.
Kool cant wait to see this build...
Me too!
Matt & Matt..., You can always call this car “Sonny” as in Sunny Florida?? 😎 Gonna follow this for sure. Can’t wait to see it come together
I like that name! Yup, the Matt and Matt show LOL. Thanks.
I remember when those came out,,,Lived in Clearwater Bch,,,,The 5.0 FHP all up and down the interstate

Love the FHP's! I hope I finish my 88 sometime this year. This one may not be restored for a good bit.
@@GearHead704 yeah I want another one. My buddy just found one sitting in someone’s yard as a bare shell and picked it up.
Great video mang🤘
Thanks buddy!
Do you have the nos gt40 lower? We thought they looked better with the cover off back in the day
Yes, he has the lower too. I agree I like it better without the plate, but this is the best plate i've ever seen.
awesome video !!! My notch is an X LA interceptor police car .
Ah, I didn't realize that. Awesome dude!
If you do find out the history of that car, would you do an episode telling us about it? That would be really cool to know
Absolutely!

Wow that’s a great find on the intake! I honestly don’t think I’d ever use that
Yeah, I think he's just going to mock it up in their lobby/showroom.
Great video as always
Appreciate that!

mustanganthony well that saves me the time reaching out to some people. Thanks!
I would like one with everything still on it
Me too, but unfortunately a few things were missing from this one, but Matt will be able to get some replacement parts.
Camaro man says the only thing he can guess about the car is it may have been numbered between 0121 and 0123. 🤪
LMAO, that sounds about right for him!
I want to buy that intake, dont care what it costs!!
LOL, well I don't think he's going to sell it, but you can always give them a call.
One thing I notice is it’s missing the “Ford Police vehicles” oil cap. Has a normal oil cap on it
Interesting, I didn't know that was a thing. Must have been replaced by FHP
Let me know if he wants to sell that gt40 intake. Definitely interested brother
I will let the whole channel know, but it sounds like he wants to keep this one. Always good to see you in the comments dude.
