I have 30 Sherpa runs of this raid, 2 of which were for the gearing impaired and I didn't know these symbols rotated.
I haven’t either but it’s because you still have to be standing on all three plates when they’re dunking on one to watch it rotate. And who is going to do that?
God I feel like I’m in a mandela effect rn. I’ve done that raid so much but I’ve never seen them rotate like that. 😭

I watched the entire 19h clan Redeem World First stream recs on UA-cam and haven't seen them rotate... They would just appear horizontally

vault is incredible confusing and scary looking when you dont know it, when you do know it its so easy it seems like it could be in a strike. I really dont blame you for not understanding it btw, its hard to learn but easy to understand when it starts to make sense... if that makes sense

Honestly idk how these day 1 raiders get any of those raids done with all the mechanical issues you have to learn, but koodos to them for getting it done.
I remember my first time doing Vault. My entire fireteam was at each other’s throats with how pissed we all were.
To this day I’ve never done the plates and probably never will.
This is the first time I've actually understood what the vault mechanic was

This is still my favorite raid encounter to this day because of the teamwork required and the music playing in the background
I can't count the amount of times I've joined last wish lfgs that said know what to do and ended up having to teach 2 other people, usually the host, how vault works and how to read
I still Don't know and somehow managed to explain it to people who then understood what I was saying and succeeded at this part...
So, if i explain it to people, they understand it and pull it off but when I explain it and try to do it kmyself, idfk and fail...
I honestly belive that 50% of the encounter difficulty was from these two damn Latin words
When you said "it made no practical sense" I thought, "Yeah, this is the company that won't let you place a waypoint on the map. Nothing they do makes sense!". 😅
After all these years, I still don't know how to solve the vault.
I think another hint is that in the shuro chi part, the taken orb thing which you can pick up to shoot with has a antumbra and penumbra variant and you hold it in the corresponding hand
This is why when I run last wish I am just plate defense on vault step lmao

I never knew the symbols actually rotated like that. I always thought it was brute forced untill the players figured it out rather than Bungie giving this visual hint which players then sussed out

Me and my raid team had to do vault a few times because it was just so confusing and convoluted, but we did eventually get through it
Gladd, Modern and Sweatscicle carried the vault. Good for them for their big "brians"

Just finished this raid an hour ago. I couldn’t imagine doing that without knowing what to do
I have a team, we do lot of hard end game challenges like 3 man raid and stuff, everytime we do this part i have to explaint it like 20 times before we can even start
I gave up after 5 hours my first run. Plus everyone just kept stalling the raid by going to the bathroom.

The thing I really enjoy about Destiny 2’s raid, dungeon, and exotic mission puzzles is… uh… hmm… 🤔
Tbf even though people like to joke about redeem not winning anything nowadays, this was probably the toughest raid about mechanically of all time imo and the fact barely anyone did it is a massive achievement.

Dawg I don't even know how many times I've done this raid and I've never ever seen them rotate we just figure out if we're ant or pen and then hop off it takes like 8 seconds

That's literally why I played like 2 runs of Last Wish, never understood it (and thank god I dropped 1k through my second run during season of the lost). I would like to play it a little bit more though, the raid is good looking and the weapons are very good, maybe one day.
Took my squad 2 days to do last wish. Not just because it was difficult but one of our guys kept going afk after we wipe to jackoff. (I’m not kidding)

So, the penumbra is the "soft" shadows *around* the actual shadowed spot.
The antumbra, is what happens when you have an annular solar eclipse, the sun is "bigger" than the moon (due to moon distance) and the shadow you get on the earth is never a total solar eclipse, therefore the antumbra is the "darkest" the shadow will get, but it's not a totally dark shadow (the umbra is the totally dark shadow part)
I have never ever seen the symbols rotate
Even with 50+ clears and Rivensbane I never knew they rotated either...

Still to this day a very large majority of people actually don't know the mechanics of the last wish raid, if they do know they only know the shortcuts all the guides made for the raid
