- Compared to the past expansions, Lightfall does not have nearly as much veteran dialogue which is a little disappointing since Calus has had some presence in the game since its launch. I've also included some lines from Season of the Lost and Season of the Seraph as well as veteran lines from the pilgrimage patrols on the Moon.
All footage was recorded and edited by myself.

The 'veteran' lines appear to also apply to Season of Haunted, not just Leviathan and Opulence.
Also, 4:30, Quinn says 'argyrosis.'
My Veteran status got removed when I did the New Light quest when Beyond Light launched. It is nice that they included a backup trigger for the veteran dialogue.
Can confirm, I was only around for season of the haunted, but not opulence.

When I heard the “my shadow…”
I quickly freaked out and had to confirm it was with one of my non-shadow friends.
Good thing I wasn't Calus' shadow, or I'd would ended up like Katabasis on the Glykon
when nimbus said "hey can you that glowy hand trick thing" when your guardian is a warlock it reminded mewhen cayde asked petra to show the guardian the coolknife trick to us.

The Neomuni not knowing much about Exo is interesting, cause it dates them leaving to before the Exo program started
There was a line in the Spire of the Watcher lore where Clovis said that there were Exos on the colony ships that Soteria was sending out, including the one that (presumably) crashed on Neptune. Additionally, I got a Neomuna Civil News broadcast at one point (during Terminal Overload, I believe?) where Jisu mentioned that Exos had been presumed extinct, and that the Neomunans were surprised to learn that there were several living Exos in the system still. I suspect they had a few surviving Exos on Neptune centuries ago that have all since died out because they had no ability to replicate, but I can't say for sure- the new stuff about the Ishtar Collective landing a colony project here intentionally, in addition (?) to Soteria's wayward ship from Spire, has me a bit confused on the early history of Neomuna.
What we learned from Spire of the Watcher seems to imply that the collapse was already imminent by time the ship was launched, as that’s what caused soteria to launch it earlier
they simply thought the exos went extinct, as was even mentioned in game. the exo program was definitely well underway before the collapse
Will note - All Calus related veteran dialogue apply to anyone who played Haunted, EXCEPT for the line where he refers to you as his Shadow. That's opulence only.
Actually, It's probably tied to titles, because i have gotten all 'veteran'lines except that one

Let's be fair, it's more like they're adding New Light dialogue. It often feels like the veteran dialogue is the normal one.
I’m still salty that even tho i played d1 since i didn’t import my character i get dialogues as if i didn’t play it…i think it should be based on account-wide progress
@@mrsneedleton3254 I don't think there should be new light dialogue. Weave the dialogue so that it fills in newcomers and refreshes veterans at the same time.
They need to fix it though, cause my veteran dialogue doesn't work after the bungie Activision split years ago.
I'm so glad for these videos. I didn't even think about Shadows getting different dialogue from Calus.

I got the veteran dialogue from Calus, but the only thing associated with the Leviathan I did was Season of the Haunted.

Same, I never even got the season pass and only did a few Nightmare Hunts for both the first quest and some triumphs, yet I still got Calus’s veteran dialogue

Doesn’t look like he did. It was just some dialogue the uploader missed from shadowkeep from the looks of it. Although, Devrim and Toland share the same voice actor so it’s not out of the question for them to decide to make new lines for that opportunity.
@@pxm2337 Either way, it has been a very long time since Toland was mentioned in the story. Since Nezarec became a person of interest over time, hopefully the same can happen to Toland too.
Iirc, toland merely resides on his tiny rock of a 'throne world' and just roam around like a grumpy ghost whenever taken/hive/ascendant plane relevant.
I dont think he would be plot important, so to speak, until his intimacy is needed. Even then, now that Mara Sov is alive and active, she's a much better source of plot and knowledge than Toland in that aforementioned regard
If Toland is to be relevant, it's more than likely another focus into Eris and the Hive. Maybe once Xivu comes into play but Mara has already encountered her in a throne world battle so once again, she'll more likely be the medium for plot.
A shame, we had a lot of Toland lore in D1 and the best we got is a passive aggressive wisp
@@raptormaverick4774 considering toland was a very mentioned character from even D1, and nezarec its just mentioned en D2 nezarec sin exotic + they hired his VA again + the line between light and dark its now almost completely broken, i would almost EXPECT him to be a major character in the next seasons/expansion

For the nezarec dialogue you can also hear it using the delicate tomb exotic fusion rifle.

Given what they have running through the CloudArk, it’s not unlikely that Exos are compatible. But it still doesn’t feel like a good idea………

Am so happy that I got to play the levitation back in the day still miss it to this day. Calus is my favourite character in D2 right next to Cade-6 and lord-shaxxs.
If there ever was an opt to join Calus I would have done it in a heart beat

I got the Veteran Guardian dialogue for everything except the first line calling you a Shadow. Funny, cause I never played Haunted, but sure as hell did love Leviathan.

It’s such a cool idea that the young wolf could have commanded the entire taken army and oryx’s army .
Maybe that’s how the guardian can help overthrow the witness and claim his army of taken and hive from xivu arath.
Maybe that’s how the Hive inevitably join us instead of the Lucent Brood joining us. Although it’s more likely they stay “squandered” and either Savathun or Xivu (more likely Xivu given Sava has discarded the sword logic) eventually take them

@@Lylybeebee what i meant is that the lucent brood will be most likely the first to join us because they lost the sword logic so they don't need to kill to survive (basically evolving back to the krill), and the original hive has to kill to live and grow so it's unlikely they're going to join us
I love how inconvenient the dialogue is sometimes. I got some of the vet dialogue and some of the others I didn't.

It's nice to see some of these things happening, it seems at times elements of the past are ignored in most dialogue and cutscenes. Hell even with the exo stranger she doesn't acknowledge the fact we met her aaaaall the way back in D1 to deal with the vex and the black heart. That would be a neat callback for veteran players... That and callbacks to us being an iron lord, our defeat of various different bosses from the past and so on... It's nice to have the game acknowledge the fact that some of us happen to have played a part in events from the beginning to now.
Ever since Halo Infinite I can't help but hear Darin DePaul as Escharum, even when he's clearly putting in a different persona as Calus.
I'm amazed that people like yourself are so attentive that they find stuff like this

Congenital Argyrosis, (Argyrosis, derived from the Greek word for silver (argyros), is a condition caused by chronic exposure to chemical forms of the element silver. The most recognized symptom is the dramatic blue or bluish-grey coloured skin) so Congenital Argyrosis would be a form of Argyrosis present from birth.
Basically the question is in regards to the skin tones of the awoken people.

i wish i played destiny 1 on my own account.
i started destiny 1 as a hunter on my uncle's xbox account and did everything there. by the time i got my own xbox account it was too late, i was in too deep on his account to simply restart all the way from the beggining on my account. so i started fresh on destiny 2 on my account. i wish i would be able to hear the d1 veteran lines in d2, but i cannot, even though i was present in all those events and beat the game.
I have the same issue with some stuff, it’s a shame

I wish the care they put into the veteran dialogue would’ve transferred over to the guardian rank. Increasing your guardian rank doesn’t even seem to matter since you get just about nothing out of it but also everyone just resets to rank 6 after every season. It’s like being a “veteran” doesn’t matter, especially since everyone is a “veteran”, including new lights

I played D2 started from Season of the Splicer, does that mean I receive veteran dialogue? To be honest I kinda forgot which one I received.

I am so confused.... I have gotten half these alt dialog and missed the other half. I stopped playing for 2 years and I guess the game knows which seasons I've missed
Still sad I didn't get the Shadow title back then. Really wanted it but got burnt out and took a break from Destiny after Shadowkeep, only returning when the content was all vaulted
I hate I missed out on shadow dialogue if only I was a little more dedicated back then. Same with not connecting my D1 account 😓
it really sucks that since ive been playing on pc since release, i gont get the veteran dialogue for the things that require a d1 character despite having played d1 since vanilla. i guess i just have to keep watching these videos for the d1 vet dialouge

I wish I could get destiny 1 veteran dialogue. I killed atheon, Crota and skolas. Sadly didn’t get to play taken king or rise of iron. Since I am pc and destiny 1 was only on Xbox and PS there is no way to link that information.
